Food security is under pressure from climate change and agricultural land conversion, while food-crop commodities at the subdistrict level in Kendal Regency have received little quantitative mapping. This study aims to identify based food-crop commodities in the 20 subdistricts of Kendal Regency as a basis for directing regional agricultural development. A secondary production data (tons) for rice, maize, cassava, and sweet potato in 2021-2025, obtained from BPS-Statistics Kendal Regency, relevant agencies, and the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Central Java Province. A commodity was classified as a base commodity when its average LQ exceeded one. The results show that maize is the most widely distributed base commodity, found in nine subdistricts, with the highest LQ in Ringinarium (1.67),Sukorejo (1.61), and Gemuh (1.57). Cassava shows the strongest specialization in Kaliwungu Selatan (7.08) and Sukorejo (6.18), sweet potato in Boja (11.38), and rice in Kaliwungu (2.05). Sukorejo has the most diverse base commodities, with three. These findings can guide food-crop development according to the comparative advantage of each subdistrict.
