Abstract

Kata Kunci: ekosistem mangrove, partisipasi masyarakat, pengelolaan lingkungan, Desa Tapak, ekowisata pesisir AbstractThe mangrove ecosystem plays a crucial role in preventing coastal abrasion, supporting biodiversity, and neutralizing pollutants. However, development pressures and human activities such as land reclamation and industrial pollution have led to environmental degradation. One approach to conserving mangroves is through community-based ecotourism. This study analyzes the level and forms of community participation in the management of mangrove ecotourism in Desa Tapak, Kelurahan Tugurejo. Using a quantitative descriptive method, community involvement was measured through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Arnstein's ladder of participation. This study introduces a quantitative approach to measuring community participation in ecotourism, providing a more objective mapping compared to previous qualitative-based studies. The findings indicate that the community plays a role in tourism operations, environmental management, and educational programs. Based on Arnstein’s model, their involvement has reached the partnership level, where the community influences decision-making with government support. From a policy perspective, these findings can serve as a basis for designing economic incentives and environmental education programs to enhance community engagement in ecotourism. The government and local organizations can strengthen community capacity through training programs and partnership schemes with tourism businesses to ensure more sustainable ecotourism management. This study fills a research gap in community participation studies by mapping local involvement in mangrove ecotourism using Arnstein’s theory, contributing to the development of community-based environmental management strategies. Keywords: mangrove ecosystem, community participation, environmental management, Tapak Village, coastal ecotourism.

Abstract

Food security is under pressure from climate change and agricultural land conversion, while food-crop commodities at the subdistrict level in Kendal Regency have received little quantitative mapping. This study aims to identify based food-crop commodities in the 20 subdistricts of Kendal Regency as a basis for directing regional agricultural development. A secondary production data (tons) for rice, maize, cassava, and sweet potato in 2021-2025, obtained from BPS-Statistics Kendal Regency, relevant agencies, and the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Central Java Province. A commodity was classified as a base commodity when its average LQ exceeded one. The results show that maize is the most widely distributed base commodity, found in nine subdistricts, with the highest LQ in Ringinarium (1.67),Sukorejo (1.61), and Gemuh (1.57). Cassava shows the strongest specialization in Kaliwungu Selatan (7.08) and Sukorejo (6.18), sweet potato in Boja (11.38), and rice in Kaliwungu (2.05). Sukorejo has the most diverse base commodities, with three. These findings can guide food-crop development according to the comparative advantage of each subdistrict.
