Purpose – To examine the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMKN 1 Sandai using the Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC) framework, and to develop a context-specific conceptual strategy. Methods – This qualitative single-case study involved 15 purposively selected participants. Semi-structured interviews, limited participant observation, and document analysis were interpreted through data reduction, open and axial coding, and triangulation, with member checking and an audit trail. Findings – Needs proposals were incorporated into school work plans, but budget limits restricted prioritization. Formal responsibilities were assigned, although asset records remained fragmented and no dedicated equipment technicians were available. Practical spaces were scheduled for use, while maintenance was mainly corrective; monitoring results were not consistently documented for subsequent planning. Implications – The evidence supports proposals for program-specific gap analysis, integrated inventory records, preventive maintenance procedures, documented follow-up, and collaboration with business and industry. Originality – The study synthesizes these findings into a proposed closed-loop POAC management model supported by school leadership, digital inventory management, and external partnerships. The model is conceptual and was not tested for its effects on learner competence or graduate work readiness.
