This study aims to describe the forms of gender injustice against women and the ways in which women struggle against gender injustice in the novel *Penyalin Cahaya* by Lucia Priandarini. This study employs a qualitative research approach of a descriptive nature. The approach used in this literary study is feminist literary criticism. The qualitative data in this study consist of words, phrases, sentences, or paragraphs that indicate forms of gender injustice and the forms of struggle undertaken by female characters in confronting such gender injustice. The data collection technique in this study was conducted through observation. The data analysis technique in this study employs content analysis. The results of this study indicate that the data on forms of gender injustice and the forms of struggle by female characters are relatively balanced, although the forms of struggle by female characters are slightly more dominant. Forms of gender injustice identified include marginalization (6), subordination (5), stereotypes (5), violence (14), and workload (3). Meanwhile, the forms of struggle portrayed by female characters included freedom (20) and power (17). Thus, these findings demonstrate how female characters in the novel are predominantly depicted through the process of women’s emancipation as they confront various pressures and limitations that constrain them.
