Handwashing and healthy food choices need to be introduced early, because elementary school children interact closely with their peers and often buy snacks around school. This community service activity aimed to improve students' knowledge of the six steps of handwashing and balanced nutrition through a demonstration and an educational game called Healthy Lunch Challenge. The activity was held on 10 August 2026 at State Elementary School 12 Bengkulu City and involved 20 fourth grade students, who were all the students in that class. The program lasted about 120 minutes and consisted of preparation, a ten item pretest, a health talk with visual media, a handwashing demonstration by four students, a five minute game of packing a healthy lunch box, and a posttest using the same questions. In the pretest, 16 students (80%) answered all questions correctly, 3 students (15%) made one mistake, and 1 student (5%) made two mistakes. In the posttest, all students (100%) answered every question correctly, and the mean accuracy rose from 97.5% to 100%. These results suggest that a health talk combined with a demonstration and a game can strengthen students' understanding of clean and healthy living and of nutritious food choices. Because the students' initial knowledge was already high and behavior was not measured, follow up activities should add direct observation of handwashing practice and involve parents and teachers so that the habits can be sustained at school and at home.
