Organic waste management that relies primarily on disposal to landfills remains a common issue in the cleaning service sector, including at PT Makmur Jaya Sragen. This condition not only increases operational costs but also leads to the loss of potential economic value from organic waste. This community service program aims to implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based composting system as a practical solution for more measurable, efficient, and sustainable organic waste management. The implementation method includes initial surveys and needs assessment, program socialization, technical training, system installation, as well as mentoring and evaluation. The proposed system utilizes temperature sensors as the primary indicator to monitor the decomposition process, enabling partners to determine composting cycles based on real-time data. The results indicate that the partner is able to independently operate the system, understand composting stages based on temperature data, and reduce dependency on landfill disposal. Furthermore, there is a significant improvement in knowledge and skills related to technology-based waste management, as reflected in questionnaire results with an average score above 4.00 (agree–strongly agree category). The implementation also produces compost that can be utilized as a value-added product. Overall, this program demonstrates that simple IoT-based technology can serve as an effective solution in transforming organic waste management into a more controlled, data-driven, and sustainable system.
