<![CDATA[This paper will review the development of the shari'ah of the Prophet time until the codification in Islam. Lately, the word syari'ah became favourite among the Muslims. Therefor, this library research explores the shari'ah developmental problems. The approach used is the historical approach. At least there are some shifts that can be found in the meaning of shari'ah since Rasulullah period until the codification of Islamic law.Keywordssyari'ah, history, development, Islamic Makalah ini akan meninjau perkembangan syari'ah pada masa Nabi sampai kodifikasi dalam Islam.
