Abstract

ABSTRAK Garcinia mangostana L merupakan salah satu tanaman yang mempunyai daya antioksidan alami yang diketahui mampu menghambat radikal bebas.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Membuktikan kemampuan aktivitas antioksidan dari Ekstrak perasan daun manggis (Garcinia mangostana, L), perbandingan aktivitas antioksidan antara perasan daun manggis dengan kontrol positif. konsentrasi suatu zat di dalam perasan daun manggisditentukan dengan metode DPPH Menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak perasan daun manggis menggunakan parameter Inhibition Concentration (IC50) yang dapat menyebabkan 50% DPPH kehilangan karakter radikal. Aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak perasan daun manggis memiliki IC50 sebesar 19,3708 ppm hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pada konsentrasi tersebut memiliki penghambatan 50% aktivitas radikal bebas DPPH, dan Kontrol positif vitamin E memiliki IC50 sebesar 2,146 ppm. Hasil ini menunjukkan ekstrak perasan daun manggis lebih rendah 9 kali dari daya antioksidan kontrol positif. Berdasarkan hasil Uji T menunjukkan bahwaekstrak perasan daun Manggis dan Kontrol positif berbeda.Dan kemampuan antioksidan ekstrak perasan daun manggis sangat kuat dengan nilai IC50 kurang dari 50. Kata kunci : Daun manggis, perasan, antioksidan, DPPH ABSTRACT Garcinia mangostana L is one of the main power plant that has natural antioxidants that are known to inhibit the scavenging free radicals.This study aims to Prove the ability of the antioxidant activity leaf juice extract of mangosteen leaves (Garcinia mangostana, L), the ratio of antioxidant activity between extract juice of mangosteen leaveswith positif control. Concentration of a substance in the juice extract of mangosteen leaves is determined by the DPPH method using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. It aims to determine the antioxidant activity of extract juice of mangosteen leaves using parameters Inhibition Concentration (IC50) which can cause loss of 50% DPPH as free radical. .The antioxidant activity of extract juice of mangosteen leaves has IC50 of 19.3708 ppm it shows that at these concentrations has 50% inhibition of DPPH free radical activity, and the vitamin E has a positive control ofa positivencontrol C50 2,146 ppm.These results indicate mangosteen juice extract of mangosteen leaves is lower than 9 times the antioxidant activity of a positive control. Based on the results of T test showed that extract juice of the mangosteen leaves and positive controls are different. Antioxidant activity from juice extract of mangosteen leaves is very strong with IC50 values of less than 50. Key words : Mangosteen leaves, juice ,antioxidant, DPPH
