Abstract: This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes by using a pair of checks by applying the concrete example on Mathematics in Elementary School fifth grade Siborongborong 173311 school year 2013/2014. Classroom Action Research Subjects are Elementary School fifth grade students 173311 Siborongborong totaling 36 people, the object of this study is the result of student learning. After administration of the first cycle level measures of student learning in the classical completeness is 81% with an average value of 67.08. After the implementation of the second cycle level of mastery learning students become 88.89% with an average value of 72.83. Inferred by using the pair of checks by applying a concrete example can improve student learning outcomes. Keywords: pair of checks; concrete examples
