Abstract

The problem in this research is the weakness of the VII grade student's speaking skill on Junior High School. The purposes of the research are to describe learning plan, learning implementation, learning assessment and the learning progresses of the speaking skill using discovery learning model. The research's benefits are to grow up the student's learning  motivation and to expanding the researcher's  knowledge. The researcher using class action design. The progressing on cycle I 77, cycle II 86,53, and cycle III 93,75 very good, the result of cognitive's valuation, affectiv e, psychomotor cycle I 68,38, cycle II 75,60, cycle III 89,27, very good. The learning implementation of cycle I,  the active student 55%, cycle II the active student 77% and cycle III the active student 92%.Masalah penelitian ini ialah rendahnya keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas VII SMP. Penelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan rencana pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, penilaian pembelajaran, peningkatan pembelajaran keterampilan membaca melalui model discovery learning. Manfaat penelitian menumbuhkan minat belajar siswa, memperluas pengetahuan bagi peneliti. Penelitian menggunakan desain tindakan kelas, penilaian hasil penelitian rencana pembelajaran siklus I 76,92, siklus II 86,54, siklus III 98,11 sangat baik, pelaksanaan pembelajaran siklus I 77, siklus II 86,53 dan siklus III 98,75 sangat baik, hasil penelitian kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor siklus I 68,38, siklus II 75,60 dan siklus III 89,27 sangat baik.
