Abstract

Sound decision making is crucial in both public and private sectors because good decision able to solve problem and satisfy parties involved. As part of the government service provider, local government also expected to exercise sound decision making in their services to their community. Thus the information system plays a major role in providing good data to the decision maker. Information system helps to furnish local government officer and its community with proper information. Accurate information most needed when conditions become more uncertainty. This paper proposed a conceptual framework for information and system acceptance base on Delone and McLean information success model. Two variables are proposed to be studied; information quality and system quality. These variables are needed by decision maker at local government to come out with sound decision making since the acceptance of information is very low. The objective of this study is to come out with some solution to IT lag time which refer to large gap between the adoption of new technologies such as information integration and information sharing and their acceptance and reutilization in organization.

Abstract

AbstractThe function of Information Communication Technology is still unevenly distributed among the logistics providers leading to sizeable front-liners controlling the logistics market. The ICT involves directly with the customer relationships, manufacturing, transportation, warehousing networks and data streams. This study targeted at providing remedies to the most of existing gaps relating the influence of ICT facilities in logistics industry especially among the 3PLs in Malaysia. Third Party Logistics Services can be referred as an outsourcing of transport and logistics activities belong to other companies in the movement of goods to meet their purpose. In most cases, more than one activity is outsourced and it includes storage, warehousing and transportation. The study utilized in the used of questionnaire to gather the required information from Third party logistics service providers. The data were analysed among 150 respondents and the correlated result shows that the selection of an appropriate tool of ICT has a significant impact on the competitive advantage of third party logistics companies. The result of the study is able to be used for the measurement of the performance and benchmarking on the importance of ICT in leading the 3PLs logistics industry in future. Abstract

This research responds to the call for more studies to validate a comprehensive model incorporating mobile Internet and other information channels to investigate their effects within the search process. Using 104 Chinese outbound tourists as the sample, this study investigates how they utilize multiple sources for trip planning. The research findings indicate that mobile-based search actions have been undertaken step by step: internal search mobile search preliminary collaborative TIS saving information summarizing information. Two search patterns were identified by using other information sources: 1. mobile Internet advanced collaborative TIS editorial communications; 2. mobile Internet PC Internet editorial communications. In spite of the studys limitations in relation to generalizing the results, this study presents new avenues for further research.

Abstract

The study entails impact on operational performance (OPER) of small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) by using supply chain management (SCM) and information system (IS) practices in Saudia Arabia empirically. Moderation investigation of Supply Chain Management and Information System link promoted factors and impeding factors in implementing Supply Chain Management and Information System applies and OPER also taken in to account in the second part of the research. In the current study, underlying dimensions of SCM and IS practices are also empirically identified, and enabling and inhibiting fators related to SCM-IS are also identified at the first stage. Regression analysis was used for estimation of studying impact of variables on OPER and SMEs in the second phase of the research. Comparative results discussion have taken place in Saudi context at the end of the research. The study significantly contribute while considering and evaluating literature, acquire and analyses of collected data about Supply Chain Management and Information System implementations in Saudi Small and Medium Enterprices.

Abstract

This research examines the factors influencing the Information Sharing Model in Supporting Implementation of e-Procurement Services: Case of Bandung City in its early maturity stage. The early maturity of information sharing stage was determined using e-Government Maturity Stage Conceptual Framework from Estevez. Bandung City e-Procurement Information Sharing system was categorized at stage 1 in Estevez model where the concern was mainly on assessing the benefit and risk of implementing the system. The Authors were using DeLone McLean (DM) Information System Success model to study benefit and risk of implementing the system in Bandung city. The model was then empirically tested by employing survey data that was collected from the available 40 listed supplier firms. DMs model adjusted by Klischewskis description was introducing Information Quality, System Quality, and Service Quality as independent variable; Usability and User Satisfaction as intermediate dependent variable; and Perceived Net Benefit as final dependent variable. The findings suggested that, all of the predictors in DMs model significantly influenced the net perceived benefit of implementing the e-Procurement system in the early maturity stage. The theoretical contribution of this research suggested that DMs model might find useful in modeling complex information technology successfulness such as the one used in e-Procurement service. This research could also have implications for policy makers (LPSE) and system providers (LKPP) following the introduction of the service. However, the small number of respondent might be considered limitation of the study. The model needs to be further tested using larger number of respondents by involving the population of the firms in extended boundary/municipality area around Bandung.

Abstract

In the recent decade, with the increase in e-logistic services, the problem of e-logistic customer satisfaction is raised. E-logistic services spread so rapidly worldwide which overlook the significant segment of customer satisfaction. Therefore, the prime objective of the current research study is to develop a comprehensive framework for e-logistics customer satisfaction. Various studies highlighted the area of e-logistic customer satisfaction, however, in a rare case, literature formally documented the problem of e-logistic customer satisfaction. Hence, less attention has been paid to the aspect of customer satisfaction in e-logistic. To address this gap, four hypotheses are proposed concerning the relationship of e-payment, e-traceability, website design with information communication technology (ICT) and e-logistic customer satisfaction. By using the convenience sampling technique, 500 questionnaires were distributed among the e-logistic users. The results of the current study found that e-payment, e-traceability, and website design has a significant positive relationship with ICT and ICT has a significant positive relationship with e-logistic customer satisfaction. This study is contributing to the body of knowledge by developing a comprehensive framework to solve various e-logistic problems. Hence, the current study is helpful for e-logistic companies to mitigate e-logistic customer satisfaction problems.
