Abstract

The managerial performance of the company needs to be improved. Expertise in accessing and evaluating information effectively performed by a manager and the ability to identify, collect, select and analyze accounting data that will assist management in making strategic decisions and for assessing organizational effectiveness. This study aims to investigate the effect of Information Literacy, Tolerance of Ambiguity, Strategic Management Accounting and Managerial Performance. Respondents in this study were fifty-two SME owners or managers in Banten province. The study data analysis used Partial Least Square (PLS) software. The study results found that Information Literacy variable had a positive effect on Strategic Management Accounting, Tolerance of Ambiguity had a positive effect on Managerial Performance, Strategic Management Accounting had a positive effect on Managerial Performance, Information Literacy variable had a positive effect on Managerial Performance.

Abstract

Abstract. West Karawang is a part of Karawang District that have high case incidence in three years later. This research uses cross sectional study method was conducted that aimed to gain information of mapping DHF endemic region use GIS (Geographic Information sys-tems) as a part of surveillance informatics system 2008. The special goals are to know the spatial aspect of the movement pattern , socio-demographic, larvae index, vector control programs, land systems and precipitation. The results of study are movement pattern of DHF in West Karawang is local, the socio-demographic of sex and marital status there are no special different, group of class age 15 – 44 years old (53,70%), non-formal working (81,48%) is the highest. The socio-demographic of education Senior High School (38,89%) is the highest too. Almost of The housing type permanent (94,44%) is the dominant and the average wide building 50-100 meters (66,67%) is the highest. House index larvae is 55,10% and container larvae index is 15,51%. The vector control program of fogging in study area 70,37% is done and PSN program activity (81,48%) this fact shown that there are many possibility for breeding place in this district. The Use of GIS helps to handle huge of data easily and much more information can be display clearly.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the success of the accountinginformation system at PT. Kuncimas Niagatama Banyuwangi. The success of accountinginformation systems is influenced by Human Behavior in Organizations, ManagementSupport, Motivation and Training, Data Processing in the System, and Management andImplementation Process. This study used the primary data by total sample of thirty-fiveemployees and used the purposive sampling technique. The quality of the questionnaire wastested using the validity test and reliability test. Data analysis used multiple regressionanalysis, which includes the classic assumption test, t test and the coefficient of determinationThe results showed that Human Behavior in Organizations, Motivation and Training,Management and Implementation Process significantly influence the Success of AISImplementation. Only Management Support variable and Data Processing in the System haveno significant effect on the Success of AIS Implementation.

Abstract

In the modern age, the increasing use and exploration of information technology and the internet by hackers has created a new security threat to the integrity and socio-political stability of the Malaysian nation. Malaysia is not only one of the most dynamic developing countries in the region, but it is also facing many border disputes and terrorism with its neighboring countries. For example, maritime and territorial disputes between Malaysia and Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines, as well as sovereignty disputes with Singapore over part rocks island with Singapore. These disputes not only dragged diplomatic diplomats among the two political leaders of the country, but also involved cyber-hacking between countries. For example, cyber-attacks have taken place, when disputes over ownership of the Ambalat Block and East Ambalat Block in the Makassar Strait are at its peak between Malaysia and Indonesia. The attack has resulted in severe damage to a number of government sites owned by both countries. This paper analyzes the emerging role of information technology, the internet and hackers as a potential future security threat to the Malaysian nation and society, both international and domestic.

Abstract

The events of climate extreme that increase the crop yield uncertainty causing financial loss of farmers. To ensure economic profitability, farmers need to tailor their cropping pattern to the climate forecast. The study was conducted in Ciparay and Bojongsoang sub-District, the central crop production of Bandung District from March to August 2005. Research aimed to analyze climate information value based on farming system strategy for accruing farmer income. Farming system in climate extremeevents was determined by maximizing expected utility of wealth. Farming system in two sub-District was assessed by Rapid Rural Appraisal. Climate information value was the difference between income with conventional farming and income using farming system strategy. Result of the survey indicated that dominant cropping pattern in the study area was rice-rice-fallow. The second rice was vulnerable to drought particularly in extremeyears. Further analysis suggested that extreme climate events were mostly associated with ENSO (El-Niño Southern Oscillation) events. From farming system simulation model, it was found that in El-Niño years, to maximize income, farmers should planted all farm with maize. Planting non-rice crops can be done after April (early May), to get maximist income, they should plant all farm with soybean. Risk averter farmers might diversify their crops, i.e. by fallowing part of their lands and planting the remaining lands with maize and soybean. The use of climate information in El-Niño years will give higher economic benefit to farmers than in La-Niña years. The difference in economic benefit was determined by the proportion of land allocated for rice and nonrice crops. In El-Niño years, farmers who plant all their lands for second planting with rice crop will get loss due to significant decrease in rice yield, while those who plant part or all of their land with non-rice crops will gain benefit as they will get yield. Therefore, farmers who are willing to take risks by planting part or all of their land with non-rice crops in years which were forecasted to be El-Niño years will get higher income than farmers who are not willing to change their rice crops.

Abstract

Crop pests and diseases are limiting factors in determining crops production. Brown Plant Hopper/BPH (Nilaparvata lugens) is the major crop pests and diseases for rice in Asia since 1970?s. The presence of BPH is depending upon several conditions covering pathogenic characteristics, carriers, physical environment (rainfall, temperature, humidity etc.) and biotic environment (natural enemy, competitor organisms). BPH growth is very fast delivering huge amount of eggs, has a short life cycle (28 days) with fast distribution forces and incredible attack forces. BPH is very dynamic in their live assuming due to the climatic condition of their habitat. This is the reason why climate can be used as an indicator for early warning to anticipate the area attack of BPH especially and in general for crop pests and diseases control. The relationship between pest and diseases attack and climate parameters such as rainfall, mean temperature, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, mean humidity, maximum humidity, and minimum humidity can be analyzed using multiple regression. The early warning system is developed using software of MS Access, Arc View, Map Object, and Visual Basic that can be a dynamic and interactive system. The results of analysis showed that climate parameter has a correlation with the area attack of BPH only during the La-Niña years. Those parameters include rainfall, maximumtemperature, maximum temperature at two weeks before attack, minimum temperature, and minimum temperature at two weeks before attack. The early warning system is started by entering the climate prediction for the next cropping season where the time is subject to prediction, at a certain sub-district. After inputting data of climate prediction the system will provide information of potential area attack of BPH at that location. By performing information of potential area attack the anticipative action can be designed earlier so that the crops harvest failure can be reduced.

Abstract

Management Information System (MIS) in government institutions was a crucial thing in supporting good services to the community. The established MIS often provided less optimum benefits since the MIS development did not go through a good planning and was not supported by a clear IT Masterplan so that an evaluation of the MIS implementation is needed, especially from 3 (three) main aspects, including aspects of Human, Organization and Technology. The procurement unit of Malang City has a MIS for procurement submission called siBaja which has been established since 2016. This study aimed to evaluate the suitability of siBaja to the needs of users and management using Human, Organization, Technology-Fit (HOT-Fit) framework with some modifications.To obtain the data, a survey method was used by distributing questionnaires to the application users.The data analysis model used was SEM-PLS by using SmartPLS 3.0 software. This study found that the implementation of siBaja was not fully fit for the relationship between Human-Technology that was indicated by the absence of a significant effect between US variable and SQ variable with a significance value of 0.899 at α = 0.05 and was not fully fit for the relationship between Organization-Technology factor which was characterized by the absence of a significant effect between SC variable and IQ variable with a significance value of 0.221 at α = 0.05.

Abstract

Purpose analyze and retest the technology use and acceptance model proposed by Venkatesh et al. (2003) where there are four main variables that affect user intention and user behavior in using information technology. Methodology this study uses a quantitative method, and data obtained using questionnaires. Sampling uses survey techniques with a total sample of 50 employees of the Tourism and Culture Office of Malang Regency. The analysis technique in processing data uses the SPSS program. Research findings this study shows that in the technology acceptance model, user intention and user behavior can be influenced by four variables such as performance, effort, social influence, and supporting conditions. DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/jtmi.v6i1.4156

Abstract

This research focuses on investor decision making on information provided by the company. Belief-adjustment models emphasize the order of presentation of information. Order effects occur when decisions made by individuals differ after receiving evidence in a different order. In order of evidence, the characteristics of the evidence are mixed between confirmative (positive) information and unconfirmed (negative) information.The participants of this study are investors who have investment accounts. The design of the 2x4 experimental method is divided into analysis of factor 2 (presentation pattern) x 4 (information value), which aims to test that the presentation of information in step by step (SBS) will have a better impact than end of sequence (EOS). There are 8 combinations of instruments contain patterns and information values that are used as a source of stock valuation. ANOVA analysis is used for this study. The results showed that there was an effect of the pattern of information delivery in investment decision making when the SBS and EOS disclosure patterns in hypothesis 1 and hypothesis 2. The results of hypothesis 3 did not support the belief adjustment model theory.

Abstract

Secara historis pertanian di Bali telah menjadi bagian dari budaya masyarakat perdesaan yang bersifat tradisional. Pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK ) pada sektor pertanian di Bali masih langka. Oleh karena itu, penelitian tentang adopsi TIK di sektor pertanian menjadi sebuah kebutuhan mendesak saat ini. Penelitian ini berkontribusi untuk memahami adopsi dan penggunaan TIK, mengidentifikasi kendala yang terkait dengan penggunaan TIK dan mengusulkan rekomendasi dengan implikasi manajerial terhadap peningkatan sistem TIK saat ini di sektor pertanian Bali. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara membuat kuesioner tentang pengetahuan dan TIK untuk pertanian. Berdasarkan penelitian, terdapat 93,7% dari total responden menggunakan setidaknya salah satu peralatan terkait atau fasilitas TIK untuk usaha pertanian mereka. Sebanyak 74,1% responden yang mengadopsi TIK dapat mengatasi masalah-masalah usahatani. Para petani responden merasakan TIK sebagai faktor penting dalam peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia dan kualitas pelayanan pemerintah kepada mereka. Implikasi TIK dalam pengembangan pertanian di Bali dirasakan sangat penting, khususnya pada kegiatan penyuluhan. Ketersediaan akses internet erta kemampuan dan ketrampilan para petugas pendamping cukup memudahkan petani, kelompok, atau gapoktan memperoleh informasi berupa inovasi teknologi dan kelembagaan. Informasi tersebut dibutuhkan dalam mengupayakan kesejahteraan petani. TIK menjadi sumber informasi praktis yang formal dan informal. Informasi dapat diakses setiap saat setiap hari. Sejumlah situs pertanian, menyediakan prakiraan cuaca, harga tanaman, jasa keuangan dan industri, serta berita umum lainnya. Koneksi internet menyediakan berbagai fungsi dan manfaat kepada produsen pertanian. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan internet dan tujuan yang digunakan mungkin berbeda-beda menurut jenis operasionalnya.
