Abstract

Research on entrepreneurship education has extensively examined interest, intention, and self-efficacy. However, the relationship between student engagement in entrepreneurship learning and confidence in starting a digital business among beauty program students remains underexplored. This study aimed to analyze the effect of engagement in entrepreneurship learning on confidence in digital entrepreneurship among students in the Beauty Department at SMK Negeri 6 Padang. The study used a quantitative approach with a causal-associative design. A total of 69 Grade XI students were included through total sampling. Data were collected using a four-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and simple linear regression. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between student engagement and confidence in digital entrepreneurship (t = 11.431; p < .001). An R² value of 0.661 indicated that student engagement explained 66.1% of the variation in confidence in digital entrepreneurship in the study model. These findings highlight the importance of student engagement in entrepreneurship learning and provide a basis for developing learning activities that allow students to showcase their work, promote makeup services, and use digital media for entrepreneurship.
