Abstract

Two kinds of stresses in the gear teeth are root bending stress and tooth contact stress. These two stresses results in the failure of gear  teeth.  The root bending stress results in fatigue failure and contact stress results in pitting failure at the contact surface. The stress analysis used to minimize gear  failure in the  design of helical gear.  It is also optimize the  design of helical gear  on the transmission system of the truck motor vehicle, where the power transmission is required at heavy loads  with  smoother  and  noiseless operation.  In this  paper  bending  stress  and  contact  stress estimated  using analytical method while modeling of gears used the numerical solution. Method of beam strength  based on modified Lewis calculation used to predict the bending strength  of helical gears. Contact stress was estimated  using related method of AGMA contact stress. Stress modeling of helical gears is done by ANSYS 14.5, which is a finite element analysis package. The results are then compared with both AGMA and ANSYS procedures. The values of bending strength and contact stress determined using AGMA method found to be compatible with ANSYS simulation.

Abstract

 High carbon steel generally has a high hardness but lower ductility. To obtain a hard and ductile material, surface hardening can be done on a low carbon steel. Surface hardening can be achieved by hard chrome plating. The objectives of this research were: (1) Conducting the process of hard chrome plating on low carbon steel, (2) Knowing the increasing of surface hardness of low-carbon steel after the plating process in time variations, (3) Knowing the increasing of surface hardness of the low carbon steel after the coating process in anode-cathode distance variations. The specimens was made of low carbon steel. The size of the specimen were 40 mm in length, 35 mm in width and 6.8 mm in thickness. The variables measured were: (1) Coating time (t), (2) The distance between the cathode and anode in the coating process (l). After the coating process completed, the specimen surface hardness was measured by Vickers Hardness Tester. The results showed that up to 532 HV, low carbon steel hardness increased linearly at increasing time plating. At 120 minutes plating, the hardness also increased linearly at current densities up to 1.05 amperes/dm2. While at the current density of 1.1 amperes/dm2, the hardness increased significantly higher.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the characteristics of stationary diesel engines which use a mixture of diesel fuel - biodiesel from sunan candlenut seed. Experiments were done with diesel fuel, B5, B10, B15, and B20 with a variety of engine rotation and load variations. The results showed that the values of torque, power and thermal efficiency when the engine uses B5, B10, B15, and B20 tends to decrease if compared when engine use diesel fuel. And the specific fuel consumption when use B5, B10, B15, and B20 increased. From the results of experiments and calculations, the maximum power of 3.01 kW, minimum specific fuel consumption of 228.58 g/kWh and maximum thermal efficiency of 37.61% when using diesel fuel. However, exhaust emissions were measured include opacity, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons when the engine using biodiesel B5, B10, B15, and B20 decreased. By using statistical study also obtained correlation and regression equations involving engine performance parameters.

Abstract

Means of public health is a component in accelerating the improvement of public health degree. Hospitals as health facilities have a very strategic role in providing quality services in accordance with established standards and can reach the whole community. One installation that needs improvement is the quality of instalasai Hemodialysis. The number of patients is increasing every year must be accompanied by improvement of quality of service installation. Based on observations, there were some complaints of patients on hemodialysis installation services. This study intends to improve the quality of care in hemodialysis installations by crafting needs hemodialysis machine design using Kansei Engineering, as well as the application of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and TRIZ. Kansei Engineering is used to ensure that a service fulfills the desired emotional response. Subsequently used QFD to improve customer satisfaction by improving the quality of services installation hemodialysis. Results of QFD point to contradictions, namely repair and maintenance service of the machine with the alert medics and repair and maintenance of the machine with the cleanliness and comfort of installation. The results showed that the installation of Hemodialysis Patients in fact want a friendly atmosphere of doctors, nurses, and the reception clerk and the condition of hemodialysis machines and devices work properly.

Abstract

 Criminality is a social problem causing negative impacts on society welfare. Police as law enforcement officer was required to take actions to prevent criminality which was increasingly widespread. Such efforts could be realized by analizing criminal data to obtain useful information for the preparation of criminal prevention strategies. However, extracting knowledge from criminal data effectively was a problematique for them. In this study, data mining was used to solve knowledge extraction problem from the dataset. The technique was aimed to get information about crime patternsby analyzing criminal activity habits. Association rule mining and apriori algorithm were used to find crime patterns. Generating crime patterns in data mining was difficult to understand when there were too many rules. Graph based visualization of association rules designed to solve that problem. Generated visualization showed relationship between crimes. That visualization was expected to help the police to understand the crime pattern so they could do prevention efforts more effectively. The results showed that the visualization of association rules could present association rules in more interesting way and described the crime pattern.

Abstract

ABC Company is a company producing rubber crumb (crumb rubber) in the form of bales with quality SIR 5, SIR 10, and SIR 20. The processing is done consists of several work stations that are continuous. Scheduling the work force in the company is considered less precise in providing holidays and working time, because hiring labor for 7 business days to achieve the production target and exceed 40 hours worked during the week. This is not in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia No.102/MEN/IV/2004 and Law of the Republic of Indonesia No.13 of 2003 on Manpower. So it is necessary to apply a good scheduling system for labor production process, one of the laborscheduling algorithm is to use Monroe. The manpower requirements for the entire production process is as many as 73 people. With the labor scheduling in PT.ABC still can work to meet production targets without disrupting weekday though individual workers get a day off two consecutive days alternately. Another advantage in labor scheduling algorithm Monroe with the company is able to minimize labor costs Rp.232.200.000/year.

Abstract

Babel Routing Protocol was designed by Juliuz Chrobozcek and its written specification was published in RFC 6126 in April 2014. Babel is one of distance vector routing protocols that has its own distinctive features. Although it sends updates periodically to its neighbours, it also sends triggered updates whenever it detects its neighbour’s changes. The changes can include broken links and new link detections. Babel route selection process is also unique, because there are feasibility condition requirements to ensure that the routing loop does not exist during the routing process. Unified Modelling Language (UML) is a modelling language widely used in software engineering. Its popularity is based on its capability to express and describe different aspects of a software. Activity diagram is one of the UML models to describe the flow activity of a software execution. It answers and explains situations like the different states that the flow can reach and the prerequisite to reach the next states. On the other hand, transition systems describe the transition state of the running software. When a software is executed, we have to keep track of the state of the software. We need to describe how state can jump from one to anotherstate and what requirements to do the transition from one state to another one.It will be helpful inthe debugging process laterwhen some errors occur. However, the transition system can be derived from the activity diagram that has described the software flow. This researchis conducted to give more understanding about the flow of the route selection process in Babel Routing Protocol and describe the flow in the activity diagram and further define it with a transition system.

Abstract
