Abstract

ABSTRAK  Penulisan ini mengambil topik tentang Sejarah Jemaat Gereja Masehi Injili di Minahasa (GMIM) Bukit Hermon Malalayang Kota Manado Tahun 1999-2016. Dalam penulisan ini penulis menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu: heuristik, kritik analisa, interpretasi, dan tahap terakhir ialah historiografi. Selain penulis menggunakan metode sejarah, dalam hal ini penulis juga menggunakan ilmu sosial sebagai alat bantu untuk memungkinkan penganalisaan dan penginterpretasian yang lebih tajam untuk menjawab apa yang menjadi masalah dalam suatu penulisan. Gereja yang mulai berkembang saat ini menunjukkan setiap perkembangan dari jemaat yang mendiami suatu permukiman sehingga didasari oleh jemaat untuk mendirikan suatu Jemaat. Ini merupakan suatu alasan bagi penulis untuk menulis sejarah GMIM Bukit Hermon. Melakukan identifikasi dan penelitian, penulis mendapat kesimpulan Gereja Masehi Injili di Minahasa khususnya jemaat Bukit Hermon.Kemudian terjadi pemekaran dari jemaat GMIM Kalvari Malalayang menjadi jemaat GMIM Bkit Hermon.  Kata Kunci : Sejarah Perkembangan, GMIM Bukit Hermon tahun 1999-2016

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research entitled “The Traditional Symbols of Marriage in Scotland and Pamona Central Sulawesi: A Semiotic Analysis”. The objectives of this research are to identify, classify, describe, analyze, and contrast the kinds and meanings of the traditional symbols of marriage in Scotland and Pamona. In this research, the writer uses descriptive method. The data of traditional symbols of marriage in Scotland were collected  from several sources in the internet, while the data of traditional symbols of marriage in Pamona were collected from wedding event and by interviewing the informants to get explanations about the symbols. The writer uses Peirce’s theory in anylizing the data and Lado’s theory in contrasting both symbols to find out their differences and similarities. The result of this research shows that traditional symbols of marriage in Skotland are founded ten kinds such as wedding ring, wedding dress, wedding cake, wedding kiss, luckenboot brooch, wedding bouquet, toss the bride’s bouquet, quaich Skotland, ceilidh dance and honeymoon while traditional symbols of marriage in Pamona are founded four kinds such as wedding dress, necklace, sampapitu and wata oli (dowry), and dero dance. The similarities of both cultures are symbols of engagement such as ring, necklace and traditional dance. The differences of both cultures are Scotland traditional marriage has wedding cake, wedding kiss, wedding dress, luckenbooth brooch, wedding bouquet, toss the bride’s bouquet, quaich Scotland, honeymoon, while in Pamona hasn’t. Pamona traditionl marriage uses the symbol of  sampapitu and wata oli (dowry, while Scotland hasn’t.  Keywords: Traditional Symbols, Marriage, Scotland and Pamona, Semiotic Analysis.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTION In dieser Untersuchungwerden die Komparation der Elemente den Kurzgeschichten “Ein alter Mann Stirbt” und “EinBündel Weisser Narzisen” von Luise Rinser. Um Ziel dieser Untersuchung zuerreichen, d.h. die zweiwerkenzuanalysieren, werden die deskriptive und comparative Methode verwendet. Als die theoretiche Grundlagewird die Meinungen von Semi benutzt. Jede Kurzgeschichte besteht aus fünf Elemente, namlich das Milleu, die Figurenkonstellation, die Handlungsphasen, der Sprachstill und das Thema. Um das Ziel der Untersuchung zu erreichen, benutzt der Schreiber die descriptive und comparative Methode. Nach der Schreiber diesen Kurzgesichten analysiert hat, kommte rzum Folgenden Schluß: Das Milleuin der beiden Kurzgeschichten hat Ähnlichkeiten in der Ortzu Hause;Die Figurenkonstellationzeigtin dieser beiden Kurzgeschichten den klaren Charakter. Der Unterschiedsteht nur in der Zahl der Figuren in der ersten Kurzgeschichte gibt es vier Figuren, in der Kurzgeschichte gibt es nur zwei Figuren;Die Handlungsphasen zeigt in dieser beiden Kurzgeschichten warden mit Hauptffigur begonnen. In der ersten Kurzgeschichtesteht fertigen Abscluβ, in der zweiten Kurzgeschichten steht keinen;Der Sprachstill in beiden Kurzgeschichten mit dem gleichenist Wiederholung (Repitition)und in der zweiten Kurzgeschichten unter scheiden die Verwendungen idiomatiche;5. Das Thema der ersten Kurzgeschichte ist die unheimliche Formen der Liebe und dasThemader Tod einer Frau. Schluβworter: der Kurzgeschichte, die deskriptive und comparative Methode

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research aims at identifying and classifying the kinds of signs and to analyze the meaning and the messages that are found on beauty product advertisements in Elle magazine October 2016 edition. In identifying the kinds of signs in the advertisements, this research uses Peirce’s theory of sign classification that divides signs into three types based on its object, namely index, icon and symbol. In analyzing the meaning of signs and the messages in the advertisements, this research uses Barthes’ theory that identifies types of messages found in illustrated advertisements, namely linguistic messages, uncoded iconic message and coded iconic message in advertisement in finding the meaning and the messages delivered in the advertisements.  The result of this research shows that there are 20 icons, 20 indexes and 8 symbols found in the advertisements, and also each advertisements brings persuasive messages and meanings in order to attract readers. Abstract

I. ABSTRAK 本研究は日本語文における副詞「大変」および「とても」に集中する。この副詞はインドネシアに翻訳すると同じ意味だが、使い分けが大変違うから、日本語学習者にとってはすごく難しいことで、文を作るときよく間違ってしまう可能性が高い。そこでこのテーマを選んで、研究することにした。本研究は日本語の「大変」および「とても」と言う副詞の意味、用法、使い分け、に関することを明らからかにすることを目的とする。データを集める方法は教科書に載せている例文を集めて、それからデスクリプションの理論に基づいて分析する。 分析の結果は「大変」と言う副詞は先ず、程度がはなだしいことを表す。ややかたい表現で話しことばでは「とても」「すごく」のほうがよく使われる。次に普通ではない、意外なものごとに対して使う。プラス評価にもマイナス評価にも使われる。それから、程度がはなはだしいことを誇張する様子を表す。程度がはなはだしいことを誇張的に表し、話者の慨嘆．驚き．感動．丁重などの暗示がこもる。この「たいへん」は「とても」「ひじょうに」「たいそう」が似ているが、「とても」はかなりれせいな表現で、誇張を暗示はない。「ひじょうに」はややかたい表現で、公式の発言などによく用いられる。「たいそう」はやや古風な表現だ。 ところが「とても」と言う副詞は先ず、決まった言い方を伴う副詞。否定を伴う言い方。どうしても無理だという気持ち。次に後ろに打消しや否定の表現を伴って、可能性がまったくない様子を表す。ややマイナスイメージの語。 なお、この研究の成果が日本語教育現場に多少なりとも役立てばと思っている。

Abstract

Abstract The skripsi which is entitled “Bahasa Kiasan dalam Puisi-Puisi Karya William Butler Yeats” aims at identifying and analyzing the types of figurative language that has been used by William Butler Yeats in his poems.   The data were collected from the collections of The Wild Swans at Coole amongst many collections of William Butler Yeats’ poems and are analyzed descriptively by focusing on figurative language.   The data are analyzed by using the intrinsic approach referring to Laurence Perrine’s theory concerning the types of figurative language. The two purpose of literature are to entertain and educate its readers, by analyzing the figurative language containded in the William Butler Yeats poems, it will help the writer to understand the meaning of poem better and then it can provides the readers with the entertaining and educating experiences they need.   The result of this skripsi shows that William Butler Yeats uses the figurative language to convey and clarify his purpose through his poem. There are seven types of figurative language found in William Butler Yeats’ poems. They are metaphor, simile, personification, synecdoche, symbol, overstatement, and irony. It was found that metaphors dominate the whole usage of figurative language in his poems.     Keywords: Figurative Language, William Butler Yeats’ Poems, Intrinsic approach.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This skripsi, entitled “Kesalahan – kesalahan Gramatikal dalam Karangan Deskriptif oleh Siswa SMK N.1 Amurang”, is an attempt to identify and analyze the types of errors in English grammar in descriptive writing made by grade XI of SMK N. 1 Amurang. The data were taken from the students’ writing homework. All data concerning grammatical errors were analyzed by using Lennon’s theory. The method used in this research is descriptive. The result of this research shows that there are four kinds of errors made by the students. Those four kinds of errors are first, addition is a grammatical error by adding a part which is unnecessary. Second, omission is a grammatical error by eliminate a part which is necessary. Third, substitution is a grammatical error by using some grammar to another grammar. And the last, ordering is a grammatical error by locate some words into wrong order. This research is expected to give a contribution to the study of linguistics and to help students in identifying errors in English that are commonly made by Indonesian learner.   Keywords : Grammatical errors, error analysis, addition, omission, substitution, and           ordering

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled “Error Analysis of English in Status in the Social Media Facebook”, is an attempt to identify, classify, and analyze and describe the kinds of errors in the use of Social Media Facebook.  This research is expected to help in language development of and give information in order to increase knowledge to understand errors analysis especially in the Facebook. Ellis’s theory is used to identify, classify, and analyze the Error Analysis of English in Status in the Social Media Facebook.  This research used an error analysis which has been done in several stages preparation was made by reading status in the Facebook. Data was taken from Status in the Facebook. The writer use some techniques of analyzing the data, as follows, Identification of error, classification of error and analyze of error. The result of this research shows that there are 49 total data in the “status” on Facebook. The 3 kinds of error analysis in the theory of Ellis, which are Omission, Misinformation, and Misordering. This research is expected to be a benefit for everyone especially for those who interested in Applied Linguistics.    Keyword : Error Analysis, Status Social Media Facebook.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitles: “Kemunculan Oedipus Complex dan Konsekuensinya dalam novel Sons and Lovers karya D. H. Lawrence”. This analysis is mainly aimed at finding out the emergences and the consequences of the Oedipus Complex shown by the characters in this novel. This research is conducted in order to answer the two questions: how the emergence appear in the novel and what consequences of Oedipus Complex are. The theory used for this analysis is psychological theory by Sigmund Freud (in Suryabrata, 2012). His theory is about the psychological analysis which is used to analyze the data. There are some steps done in collecting the data after mastering the theory and novel. The collected data is from library and internet research. When the data were collected and identified, the data were rewritten and they were classified according to their types. The results show that there are some aspects that influence the emergence of Oedipus Complex behavior. They are, relationship between mother and son, jealously against brother, violent behavior from a father, and a disharmony family. And the consequences that appear from Oedipus Complex behavior are guilty feeling and self punishment. Keywords: Oedipus Complex, psychology analysis, emergence, consequences

Abstract

Literature and society are like two sides of a coin, they cannot be separated. Through literature, we could see how the author depicts the society and their social circumstances. Literature is a representation of life. It reflects the life itself, or, in other words, it is life, which literature imitates or mirrors; and we can say that the subject matter of literature is the manifold experiences of human beings and society (Wellek and Warren 1949:89). Pride and Prejudice is one of Jane Austen’s masterpieces. It is a story about relationship, life and love. Jane Austen is very popular with her intelligent and meticulous in describing the detail about British community’s social life, especially in the early nineteenth century. How eminently Jane Austen creates a masterpiece such as Pride and Prejudice — which simultaneously makes it a portrait and a wonderful portrayal of the life of the early opportunists’ society in the early nineteenth century — is something that is very interesting to be explored. The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify, analyze and describe how Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice depicts the social life and circumstances of British society in the early nineteenth century; and (2) to identify, analyze and describe how is the social stratification depicted in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. To analyze this novel, the writer uses sociological approach, mimetic theory from Aristotle, the theory of relation between sociology and literature from Wellek and Warren, and social stratification theory from Max Weber. Pride and Prejudice intelligently and realistically depicts the British social life in the early nineteenth century. The depictions are through correspondence as medium of communication and ballroom dance party as medium of socialization. Furthermore, through theme of the story, Austen also depicts the awful social reality at that time on how society assumes marriage as the highest aspiration a woman could achieve, value of marriage and the requirement about what values should a woman held. Social stratification in British society is also depicted in Pride and Prejudice. Social stratification theory by Max Weber states that status, class and power are required and must be fulfilled to attain a certain position in social dimension. Through some characters in Pride and Prejudice, we could see the implementation of this theory.     Keywords: pride and prejudice, sociological approach, social stratification, theory of relation
