Abstract

The creation of education in accordance with the mandate of the law is a matter that must be built with the hard work and cooperation of all the important elements in Indonesia's national education system today. A good education system is created when the school is led by a competent and creative principal, as well as those who are able to foster good relationships with teachers at the school. In addition, teachers with appropriate personalities and competencies will support the creation of a good learning environment and encourage their students to actively perform and make them personal. This study aims to provide clear information about the importance of collaboration among elements of educational support. The study used a mixed case study methodology, an open questionnaire, and a descriptive statistical analysis of 173 subjects consisting of two principals, 43 teachers, and 130 students. The results of case studies explain how the role of principals is crucial in shaping the character and performance of schools, especially with regard to their leadership style and creativity. While the analysis of open questionnaires categorizes that students expect to become dream teachers are those who are able to become partners, those who have the competence, and those who are experienced. The role of the principal, the presence of a qualified teacher, and the similarity of students' perceptions to their school will result in a collaboration that is mutually supportive of one another.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of conflict resolution on marital satisfaction and examine differences in conflict resolution and marital satisfaction in terms of demographic aspects including ethnic background, level of education, occupation, number of children, length of marriage, ownership status of residence, and shared residence. The subject of this study was a married couple who lived in the northern city of Surabaya with a sample of 150 people. Data collection is done using research instruments, namely the Conflict Resolution Scale to measure conflict resolution, and ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Scale used to measure marital satisfaction. Statistical analysis techniques used were descriptive statistical analysis, analysis of regression (ANAREG), and analysis of variances (ANOVA). The results showed R=0.659, R Square=0.434; F=113.399; t=10.649 (p=0.000 p<0.05) it shows a significant influence between conflict resolution on marital satisfaction. Based on the comparison analysis shows there are significant differences in conflict resolution and marital satisfaction in terms of demographic aspects including ethnic background, level of education, occupation, number of children, length of marriage, ownership status of residence, and shared residence.Tujuan penelitian ini menguji pengaruh resolusi konflik terhadap kepuasan pernikahan dan menguji perbedaan resolusi konflik dan kepuasan pernikahan ditinjau dari aspek demografi meliputi latar belakang etnis, tingkat pendidikan, pekerjaan, jumlah anak, lama pernikahan, status kepemilikan tempat tinggal, dan tempat tinggal bersama. Subjek penelitian ini adalah pasangan suami istri yang tinggal di Kota Surabaya bagian Utara dengan jumlah sampel 150 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen penelitian yaitu Skala Resolusi Konflik untuk mengukur resolusi konflik dan ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Scale digunakan untuk mengukur kepuasan pernikahan. Teknik analisis statistik yang digunakan yaitu analisis statistik deskriptif, analisis regresi (ANAREG) dan analisis varian (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan harga R=0.659, R Square=0.434; harga F=113,399; harga t=10.649 (p=0.000 p<0.05). Hal itu menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan antara resolusi konflik terhadap kepuasan pernikahan. Berdasarkan analisis perbandingan menunjukan ada perbedaan yang siginikan resolusi konflik dan kepuasan pernikahan ditinjau dari aspek demografi meliputi latar belakang etnis, tingkat pendidikan, pekerjaan, jumlah anak, lama pernikahan, status kepemilikan tempat tinggal, dan tempat tinggal bersama.

Abstract

Employee engagement (EE) has an impact on organizational performance and employees regarding emotional and health conditions. There are EE supporting factors from companies or jobs and employees as individuals. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of perceived organizational support (POS) on employee engagement (EE) mediated by psychological empowerment (PE). The data was collected using POS questionnaire adapted from Eisenberger (1986), PE questionnaire adapted from Speitzer (1995), and EE questionnaire adapted from Hewitt (2015). Partisipants are 116 people consisted of staff, supervisors, and managers who worked in several television industries in Jakarta Indonesia whose are permanent employees with work period of 2 years. The results showed that there is a direct effect from POS to EE and the indirect effect of POS to EE through PE as mediator. Increasing POS and EE will further increase EE. In conclusion, PE has a role as a positive partial mediation between POS and EE.Keywords: perceived organizational support; psychological empowerment; employee engagementKeterikatan karyawan (employee engagement/EE) memiliki dampak pada kinerja organisasi dan juga pada karyawan dalam hal kondisi emosi dan kesehatan yang baik. Terdapat faktor pendukung dari EE, baik yang berasal dari perusahaan atau pekerjaan dan juga dari karyawan sebagai individu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui pengaruh persepsi dukungan organisasi (perceived organizational support/POS) pada keterikatan karyawan (employee engagement/EE) yang dimediasi oleh rasa berdaya psikologis (psychological empowerment/PE). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner adaptasi alat ukur POS dari Eisenberger (1986), rasa berdaya psikologis dari Speitzer (1995), dan keterikatan karyawan dari Hewitt (2015). Partisipan berjumlah 116 orang yang terdiri atas level staf, supervisor, dan manajer yang bekerja di beberapa industri pertelevisian di Jakarta Indonesia yang merupakan karyawan tetap dan memiliki masa kerja 2 tahun. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah terdapat pengaruh langsung dari POS ke EE dan pengaruh tidak langsung POS ke EE melalui mediator PE yang signifikan. Peningkatan POS dan EE akan semakin meningkatkan EE karyawan. Dengan kata lain, PE memiliki peran sebagai mediasi parsial positif antara POS dengan EE.

Abstract

Integrity is commitment to positive values i.e. honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility and courage. To encourage children to commit to such positive values, elementary school educatorsare expected to understand the essential values of integrity. This study is an exploratory qualitative study attemptingto buildan understanding on the Indonesian school teacher’s concepts ofintegritywith an indigenous approach. An open ended survey was conducted to a sample of 121 elementary school teachers from Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta. A group of elementary school teachers from the sample was recruited to assist the data analysis process, to ensure a data coding in accordance to their conception. The categories were analyzed by descriptive statistics. The result of this research revealed the perspective of elementary school teachers on the importance of certain values involved in integrity, how they teach their students to embrace the values. Theoretical and applied implementation of this research results is discussed.Integritas adalah komitmen terhadap nilai-nilai positif yaitu kejujuran, kepercayaan, keadilan, rasa hormat, tanggung jawab dan keberanian. Untuk mendorong siswa SD berkomitmen pada nilai-nilai positif seperti itu, pendidik sekolah dasar diharapkan memahami nilai-nilai penting dari integritas. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kualitatif eksploratif yang mencoba membangun pemahaman tentang konsep integritas guru sekolah Indonesia dengan pendekatan indijenous. Survei open-ended disebarkan dan diisi 121 guru sekolah dasar dari Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta. Kemudian sekelompok guru sekolah dasar dari partisipan tersebut direkrut untuk membantu proses analisis data, untuk memastikan pengkodean data sesuai dengan konsepsi mereka. Kategori dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan perspektif guru sekolah dasar tentang pentingnya nilai-nilai tertentu yang terlibat dalam integritas dan bagaimana mereka mengajar siswa mereka untuk mengadopsi nilai-nilai luhur. Penerapan teoritis dan praktis dari hasil penelitian ini akan dibahas.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of self-esteem and hardiness on successful aging in the elderly who live alone. This research is a quantitative study with 142 participants who lived alone (at least living with a partner, not with children) in 6 cities in Central Java, which were obtained using a purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained using Successful Aging Scale (Rowe and Kahn), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg) and Short Hardiness Scale (Bartone). The results of this study indicate that simultaneous self-esteem and hardiness as predictors of successful aging in elderly people who live alone (minimum life with a partner, not with children), seen from the obtained Fcount value of 35.963 and Ftable of 2.670 (Fcount > Ftable) and a significance value of 0,000 (p <0,05). That is, this study provides practical implications, namely when the elderly who live alone have high self-esteem and hardiness, it will affect the high successful aging of the elderly in their old age.
