Abstract

Based on the results of observations and discussions with teachers at Pelambuan 7 Elementary School in Banjarmasin with class III teachers, it was concluded that students were still having difficulties in following mathematics learning, especially on flat-build material. The teaching materials that they use so far are ordinary textbooks and limited number of LKS and are not made by the teacher itself, so that they are not in accordance with the character of students. Meaningful learning is a process of connecting new information with relevant concepts contained in one's cognitive structure. The model used in this study is the Plomp model because it has a simple, systemic and clearly understood sequence, according to Plomp (Hobri 2010) there are five phases in designing this development, namely (1) Initial investigation phase (2) Design phase (3) Realization / construction (4) Evaluation and revision phase (5) Implementation phase. The results of this study produce student textbooks. Student textbooks consist of three parts, namely the introduction, discussion and closing. The results of expert and practitioner validation showed that the developed student textbooks were declared valid with an average score of 3.4. so that the student textbooks have met the practicality criteria. The effectiveness of student textbooks is determined from the analysis of (1) the mastery test of textbook material, (2) the activity of teachers and students, and (3) the results of interviews with students. Based on the trials that have been carried out, the results obtained are as much as 85% get a minimum score of 65, so that the classical completeness criteria have been met.

Abstract

Globalization slowly threaten the nation’s noble values inherited from the ancestors. Local wisdom values which is a part of a nation's identity, is often forgotten as the life becomes more and more modern. If this kind of situation keep happening continously, then this nation might be lost their identity. Hence, strengthening the local wisdom is something that needs to be seriously conducted, with education being one of the means. This study talk about the effort to strengthening the local wisdom in learning process, especially in mathematics learning through culture based learning. In 1985, D’Ambrosio introduce the concept of culture based learning in mathematical context known as ethnomathematics. In general, ethnomathematics can be saw as concepts of mathematics in a cultural and anthropological framework. In ethnomathematics, students were not only encouraged to improve their math skills, but also preserving culture which is the nation's indigenous character. Therefore, ethnomathematics is considered relevant in not only improving the students' math skills, but also strengthens their local wisdom values.

Abstract

This research aims to produce learning kits for even numerical semester subjects with visual thinking learning accompanied by quick on the draw activities on student learning outcomes. This type of research is research on the development of ADDIE (Analysis; Design; Development; Implementation; Evaluation) models. The subjects of this study were lecturers and students of class A in the fourth semester of Mathematics Education at Madura University. This study produced learning tools in the form of RPM, LKM, and THB. From the results of expert validation, scores of observations of lecturer and student activities, learning outcomes tests, and student response questionnaires indicate that RPM, LKM, and THB are valid, practical, and effective. Valid because the coefficient of validity of RPM, LKM, and THB has an average value of 3,79. Practical because the average score of lecturer and student activity was 3,78 (very good) and 3,38 (good) respectively. And effective because the student response is 84,76% (positive); and the test results amounted to 85,71% (completed classically).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS terhadap kemandirian belajar matematika mahasiswa program studi matematika FKIP UIR Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018 pada mata kuliah Aljabar Linear. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimen). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa matematika semester 3 (tiga) yang terdiri dari lima kelas, yaitu kelas 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D dan 3E. Sampel yang dipilih kelas 3B dan 3D. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah teknik angket yang terlebih dahulu telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan mahasiswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan strategi TPS dengan mahasiswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan konvensional dengan nilai Prestest (Sig 0,072) dan Postest (Sig 0,000 ). Selain itu, nilai kemandirian belajar mahasiswa pun berbeda antara kelompok eksperimen (Min. 85,76 dan SD. 7,47) dengan kelompok kontrol (Min. 83,97 dan SD 6,61). Maka dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran kooperatif dengan metode Think Pair Share (TPS) dapat mempengaruhi kemandirian belajar dan hasil belajar matematika mahasiswa program studi matematika FKIP UIR secara signifikan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the level of anxiety experienced by students and their influence on learning outcomes in mathematics learning. Background by the emergence of anxiety experienced by students in mathematics lessons that affect student learning outcomes. This research uses quantitative research using the One-Shot Case Study method. The subjects of this study were 30 students of class VIII of SMP 40 Palembang consisting of 14 men and 16 women. The data used is secondary data in the form of student anxiety data and learning outcomes data in mathematics learning. Data analysis in this study using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov One-Sample normality test while to see the effect of anxiety experienced by students was done by correlational non-parametric statistical test with the Spearman Rank test. Tests are carried out using IBM SPSS 24 application. The results of this determination show that the majority of mathematics anxiety in Palembang's 40th Junior High School students is included in the medium category with a percentage of 57% and the influence of anxiety on student learning outcomes in mathematics learning is not significant, but the higher student anxiety scores then the lower the learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research purpose is develop a learning media website-based for trigonometry material. The subjects of this research were high school students of class XI. This type of research is Research and Development. The research and development model that used is ADDIE model with analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Website learning media has done for test validation process from material and display experts. This material aspects have average scores 4,0 with valid categories and for display aspects have average score 4,1 with valid categories. The media has also gone through practicality assessment tests achieve an average score 4.2 with practical categories. The media is tested on a small scale and get a positive responsse. After testing, the subject experienced an increase in cognitive value from the average value 37,4 to 76,8 the average value. The conclusion is website learning media that has been developed valid, practical, and effective for use in learning.

Abstract

This research aim to (1) describe the achievement of the implementation of Think Talk Write (TTW) Learning Model, (2) Increasing student activity (3) Student learning outcomes, and (4) Describing student responses to Think Talk Write (TTW) Learning Model in the material Two Variable Linear Equations. The results showed that (1) the implementation of the Think Talk Write (TTW) Learning Model in the Two-Variable Linear Equation material was carried out by the teacher entirely from 80.77% in the first cycle, 96.15% in the second cycle, experiencing a 100% increase in the cycle III with criteria very high, (2) Student activity 49.75% in the first cycle, 75.75% in the second cycle experienced an increase in the third cycle of 91.50% with a very active criteria, (3) Student learning outcomes in the two-variable linear equation material after using the model Think Talk Write (TTW) learning shows the existencean increase from 66.40 in the first cycle, 72.15 in the second cycle to 83.55 in the third cycle with classical completeness of 55%, 70% and 100% respectively. (4) responses of 95% students stated that they were very happy to learn the material of two-variable linear equations using the learning modelThink Talk Write (TTW).so that it can be concluded that the Think Talk Write (TTW) Learning Model can improve the process and results of mathematics learning in class VIIIA Pelaihari SMP Negeri 6 in the Two Variable Linear Equation Material.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the spatial ability mathematical students of class XI Senior High School of State 1 Tuntang in materials Up Space Side of the Arch. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Sampling in this study using purposive sampling technique. The subject of the study consisted of 3 students of class XI SMA 1 students of high ability, 1 students capable being, and 1 student of low ability. The results showed that: the subject-enabled mathematics high and the subject-enabled mathematics have spatial ability is almost the same or even the same, with only difference in his way of thinking. Way of thinking the subject of high performance more easily understood when asked to explain on the subject of the enabled being. While the subject-enabled mathematics low indeed have the spatial ability below the subject-enabled mathematics high and the subject-enabled mathematics are. The subject enabled low math when answering a question on the webs of the tube subject to low still confusion on the rotation of the mesh-netting tube is true or right. The subject enabled low math still difficult to imagine the velocity or displacement on an object, where the object is located on a different perspective.

Abstract

This research was conducted on students of Mathematics Education Program of STKIP Qomaruddin Gresik. It aimed at increasing student activity and learning outcomes through e-modul based project. This type of research is Action Research with research subjects were students who take mathematics learning evaluation system courses. To collect the data, this reasearch used observation and projects. The results showed that student activity and learning outcomes increased. The increase can be seen from the comparison of learning activity scores for students in cycle I and cycle II. In the action phase of cycle I, 64% students were classified as very good, 36% students were classified as good, in the second cycle action there were 73% students were classified as very good, 27% students were classified as good. The Improvement of assessment result can be seen from the comparison of learning outcomes in cycle I and cycle II. In the first phase of the action I, 55% students were classified as very complete, 41% students were classified as complete, and as many as 4% student were classified as incomplete. In the second phase of the action phase, 64% students were classified as very complete, as many as 36% students were classified as complete.

Abstract

One of the four competencies that teachers and lecturers must possess is professional competence. A lecturer must be able to master and develop material in accordance with the field of science that is taught and can take advantage of advances in technology, information, and communication (ICT) as a communication medium that supports teaching and learning activities. Similarly for students who have the ability to ask questions and argue differently. Students only give a little bit solution to the problem given due to the lack of media to express themselves in asking freely without feeling embarrassed and the limitations of face-to-face hours. Blog media as one of the learning media through the internet or media interaction between students and lecturers. The use of this media as an alternative in overcoming the limitations of face-to-face hours during lectures and of course utilizing the progress of information and communication technology that is developing at this time. The blog in question is given the name of a gothic blog as a learning center which includes lecture plans, teaching materials, assignments of reference links, videos and discussion material on the subject of analytical geometry. In addition, there are lecturer and student blogs to interact with each other. There is also a community of learning bloggers that allows interaction and communication between lecturers and students as well as from various universities to join the blogger learning community.
