Abstract

Pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) is a plant that contains compounds that can protect the body from free radicals. Pegagan leaves contain β-carotene. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving variations of sugar in the drink Pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) on organoleptic and β-carotene levelsThis study used an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors, factor 1, namely the weight of pegagan leaves (P1 = 50 grams and P2 = 70 grams) and factor 2, namely sugar (G1 = 50 grams, and G2 = 100 grams). ) with 4 treatments and 2 repetitions. The results showed that the weight of pegagan leaves and sugar had an effect on the β-carotene content of pegagan leaf drink. The highest β-carotene content of pegagan leaf drink was treated with 70 grams of pegagan leaves and 100 grams of sugar (P2G2) which was 540.60 μg. The lowest β-carotene content of pegagan leaf drink in the treatment of pegagan leaves was 50 grams and sugar 50 grams (P1G1) was 216.97 μg. The organoleptic results of pegagan leaf drink were green, had a less distinctive aroma and pegagan leaf drink which was most preferred by panelists in the treatment of P1G1 (50 grams of pegagan leaves and 50 grams of sugar), P1G2 (50 grams of pegagan leaves and 100 grams of sugar) and P2G2 (leaves pegagan 70 grams and 100 grams of sugar).Keywords: pegagan, β-carotene, organoleptic

Abstract

The event of Borneo Vortex is a disruption of the synoptic scale that occurs when the Asian monsoon is active. Borneo Vortex occurs because of the interaction of the Asian monsoon winds with the wind from the southeast in the northwest region of Borneo so that the vortex is formed which can increase rainfall. Related with rainfall, Sea Surface Temperature (SST) becomes one of the factors that influence it. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Borneo Vortex on the dynamics of Sea Surface Temperatures in the Java Sea. The impact of Borneo Vortex, SST parameter becomes dynamic and very important to influence the condition of waters in Java Sea. Data used in this research is ERA Interim ECMWF (European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecast) Reanalysis data in the form of wind component u and v, vortisitas relative, divergence, and specific humidity. Rainfall analysis is done using daily rainfall data of 3B42RT TRMM (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission), while SST data uses the data of Visualize NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) High Resolution Blended Analysis Data. The Sea Surface Temperature analysis was performed using Remote Sensing data from the period of December until February (DJF) 2004/05 to 2014/15. The method used is to find the composite value of each parameter at the time of Borneo Vortex event during the time of research. The results identify that the largest event of Borneo Vortex was in December. With the presence of Borneo Vortex, there is a significant change in vorticity, divergence, moisture transport, rainfall, and SST. The impact of Borneo Vortex can increase rainfall and increase SST in the Java Sea. Borneo Vortex occurred in December January February at the time of an active Asian monsoon in northwest Borneo where there is a synoptic scale disorder in the form of a massive air vortex causing an increase in rainfall and the dynamics of SST tend to rise as well.Keywords: Borneo Vortex,  Java Sea,  Sea Surface Temperature.

Abstract

Analisis hubungan panjang-berat, pola pertumbuhan dan mengetahui faktor kondisi ikan di berbagai tempat sangatlah penting untuk pengelolaan perikanan yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa hubungan panjang-berat, pola pertumbuhan dan faktor kondisi, ikan belanak (Mugilidae) yang tertangkap di perairan Pulau Panjang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei-Juni Tahun 2019 di kawasan perairan Pulau Panjang, Kelurahan Sijantung, Kecamatan Galang, Kota Batam. Sampling dilakukan pada dua stasiun, menggunakan alat tangkap jaring insang dengan ukuran mata jaring 1,5 inc, lebar 2,5 meter dan panjang 250 meter. Hubungan panjang-berat dianalisis menggunakan metode Linear Allometric Model (LAM). Kondisi ikan di alam ditentukan dengan analisis faktor kondisi berat relatif (Wr) dan faktor kondisi Fulton (K). Terdapat 3 jenis ikan belanak yaitu L. tade (belanak bakau), L.vaigiensis (belanak tamok), dan C. crenilabis (belanak putih). Hubungan panjang-berat L. tade memiliki persamaan W= 0,0147L2,882, L. vaigiensis memiliki persamaan W= 0,0104L3,079, dan  C. crenilabis memiliki persamaan W= 0,0253L2,703. Spesies L. tade dan C. crenilabis memiliki pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif dengan nilai eksponen 'b'<3 2,882 dan 2,703. Sedangkan L.vaigiensis memiliki pertumbuhan alometrik positif dengan nilai eksponen 'b'>3 (3,079). Berdasarkan koefisien determinasi (R2) semua spesies menunjukkan hubungan yang erat antara penambahan berat dan panjang ikan. Nilai faktor kondisi menunjukkan lingkungan dalam keadaan baik

Abstract

Increasing population growth causes demand for daily necessities to increase as well, one of which is soap, because almost all humans use soap to wash and clean themselves. The purpose of this reseacrh was to determine the optimum ratio of coconut oil and palm oil to produce the best transparent solid soap and tomato lycopene extract added to maximize the benefits of the soap. Characterization includes water content, total fat, insoluble material in ethanol, free alkali, free fatty acids, non-soaped fats, pH, foam stability, and antioxidant activity from lycopene. The best result was soap with ratio of coconut oil and palm oil 1: 0. The resulting soap has a high transparency, smooth foam, water content of 3.546%, foam stability of 96%, and pH of 10. Soap accordance with SNI3532-2016, except the unsaponifiables fat.  The analysis results obtained water content of 3.486%, total fat of 73.616%, insoluble material in ethanol of 1.2%, free fatty acid of 0.564%, negative free alkali, unsaponifiables fat of 0.7294% and Lycopene antioxidant activity of 54.85 µg/mL.

Abstract

Asuransi jiwa berjangka n-tahun merupakan produk asuransi jiwa dimana tertanggung akan menerima manfaat jika risiko yang dipertanggungkan selama n-tahun terjadi sebelum n-tahun berakhir. Penentuan premi produk asuransi jiwa berjangka n-tahun memerlukan peluang meninggal dalam interval usia satu-tahunan. Penelitian ini membahas tentang penentuan peluang meninggal interval usia satu-tahunan menggunakan metode interpolasi Kostaki Modifikasi dengan Lagrange 6 titik dan metode interpolasi Kostaki Modifikasi dengan Heligman-Pollard dari tabel mortalita ringkas Amerika 2010 dimana hasil interpolasi terbaik yang diperoleh digunakan untuk menentukan premi asuransi jiwa berjangka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil interpolasi peluang meninggal interval usia satu-tahunan menggunakan metode interpolasi Kostaki Modifikasi dengan Lagrange 6 titik lebih baik daripada hasil interpolasi modifikasi dengan Heligman-Pollard, baik berdasarkan nilai MAE. Hasil ilustrasi perhitungan premi untuk produk asuransi berjangka menunjukkan bahwa peluang meninggal interval usia satu-tahunan diperlukan untuk mendapatkan nilai premi yang lebih akurat dan perbedaan peluang meninggal dalam interval usia satu-tahunan dan interval usia lima-tahunan signifikan mempengaruhi perhitungan premi asuransi jiwa berjangka.

Abstract

Anthracnose disease caused by the fungus Colletotrichum gloeosporioides is one of the most important diseases on fruit trees. Chitosan material have been applied to many different application fields including disease biocontrol because of its  biocompatible and biodegradable effect. This research was aimed  to synthesize low molecular weight chitosan (LMWC) which prepared via enzymatic process using a bacterium Burkholderia cepacia E76 and ionic gelation method, using sodium tripolyphosphate (NaTPP), and to test their activity against C. gloeosporioides on mangoes fruits. In this study the effect of concentration and volume ratio of LMWC : NaTPP was determined based on particle characteristics, i.e particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential and FTIR structure. The results showed that LMWC could be synthesized by means of enzymatic hydrolysis using chitinase originated from B. cepacia E76. The optimal nanoparticle conditions was obtained by concentration of 0.3% LMWC, 0.1% TPP with volume ratio 5 : 1, stirring for 30-60 min incubation with the particle size of  126.2 nm and ZP value of  25.5 + 6.1 mV. LMWC and nano chitosan product could be evidenced by FTIR analysis. Nano chitosan could inhibit the growth of C. gloeosporioides ranging from 61.28 – 96% under in vitro test.  The result of in vivo test on manggoes fruit cv Manalagi, showed that chitosan nano particle could effectively inhibit the growth of anthracnose (74.5%) at concentration of 0.3% LMWC, and 0.1% NaTPP with ratio 5:2 compared with control. Keywords: B. cepacia E76, chitinase, chitosan, low molecular weight, anti fungi

Abstract

Smartphone atau dikenal juga sebagai mobile phone saat ini telah berbasis sistem operasi sehingga memungkinkan smartphone bekerja layaknya komputer. Sistem operasi yang paling populer digunakan oleh smartphone adalah android. Android merupakan salah satu perangkat lunak yang open source, yang mengijinkan siapapun penggunanya dapat mengembangkan dan menjalankan berbagai aplikasi. Salah satunya adalah aplikasi Laundry. Laundry selama ini menggunakan nota manual yang rentan akan risiko rusak dan hilang. Aplikasi Laundry online mampu mengatasi permasalahan yang terjadi pada laundry selama ini diantaranya risiko kerusakan dan kehilangan nota, salah inputnya data pakaian dan lain-lain. Studi ini menganalisis kebutuhan dan masalah yang dihadapi oleh para pelaku bisnis laundry dan merancang database serta antarmuka yang baik, sehingga diharapkan aplikasi ini akanmampu memenuhi kebutuhan dari pemilik bisnis maupun konsumen dari pengguna jasa laundry tersebut tanpa ada anomali atau redudansi.  Adapun yang digunakan dalam merancang aplikasi ini adalah usecase diagram, activity diagram, ER-diagram, tabel relasi dan perancangan antar muka.
