Abstract

It has been tested the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract and some fractions of leaves marigolds (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.) againts the bacteria Shigella dysentriae ATCC 13313, Shigella flexneri ATCC 12022 dan Shigella boydii ATCC 12985. Extraction is done by maceration method with a yield 3.62% b/b results of the fractionation was then performed using the solvent n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and water. Chemical content ob-tained in the test phytochemical that leaves marigolds (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.) Are chemical compounds of alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics, saponins and steroids. Antibacterial activity assay carried out using agar diffu-sion method with 5 variations of concentration of test substance, wich is 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% with used destilation etanol as negative control and tetracyclin as positive control. The results of inhibition zone di-ameter measurements the ethanol extract and some fractions have a antibacterial activity againts Shigella dy-sentriae ATCC 13313, Shigella flexneri ATCC 12022 and Shigella boydii ATCC 12985 At 30% concentration of test subtance to bacteria Shigella dysentriae ATCC 13313 inhibitory zone diameters on ethanol extract leaves marigolds of 17.0 mm, n-hexane fraction of 13.8 mm, ethyl acetate fraction of 14.3 mm, and water fraction of 10.9 mm. Againts Shigella flexneri ATCC 12022 the diameter of inhibitory zone diameters on ethanol extract leaves marigolds of 18.6 mm, n-hexane fraction of 15.3 mm, ethyl acetate fraction 15.7 mm and water fraction of 13.8 mm. Againts Shigella boydii ATCC 12985 the diameter of inhibitory zone diameters on ethanol extract leaves marigolds of 20.2 mm, n-hexane fraction of 16.1 mm, ethyl acetate fraction of 16.9 mm and water frac-tion of 15.5 mm. So, that has the greatest antibacterial activity shown in the ethanol extract of leaves marigolds to the bacteria Shigella boydii ATCC 12985 at 30 % concentration of the test substance with inhibition zone di-ameter of 20.2 mm.

Abstract

Magnet permanen berbasis Barium Heksaferrit (BaO.6Fe2O3) merupakan jenis magnet permanen popular karena memiliki sifat magnet yang baik dengan biaya produksi yang rendah. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan pembuatan magnet permanen berbasis Barium Heksaferit (BaO.6Fe2O3) dari bahan baku Barium Heksaferit komersial (China) dan dibuat dengan cara metallurgi serbuk. Proses pencetakan (kompaksi) dilaku-kan secara isotropik (diameter 2 cm) berbentuk pellet menggunakan hydraulic jack press dengan tekanan kompaksi divariasi dari 100,150 dan 200 kgf/cm2. Massa total sampel dibuat 8 gram dan sebelum kompaksi dila-kukan proses granulasi menggunakan seluna 3% wt sebagai perekat. Sampel hasil kompaksi masing-masing dis-inter pada temperatur 11000C selama 2 jam. Analisis yang dilakukan adalah analisis struktur dengan XRD, pengu-jian sifat fisis (susut bakar, densitas) dan sifat magnet (densitas fluks magnetik – Gauss). Dari hasil analisa pola XRD menunjukkan bahwa fasa dominan yang terbentuk adalah fasa Barium Heksaferit. Hasil analisa sifat fisis dan sifat magnet didapatkan tekanan kompaksi yang relatif baik sebesar 200 kgf/cm2 dengan susut bakar sebesar 9,7%, densitas sinter sebesar 4,97 gr/cm3 dan densitas fluks magnetik sebesar 531,1 Gauss. Berdasarkan hasil pe-nelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa susut bakar menurun seiring meningkatnya tekanan kompaksi,namun densitas sampel dan densitas fluks magnetik meningkat seiring meningkatnya tekanan kompaksi.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman vegetasi di kawasan terbuka hijau industri Gasing. Penelitian dilakukan dari bulan April - Juli 2017. Metode analisis mengunakan metode kuadrat den-gan 2 plot pada lokasi yang berbeda dengan tiga kali pengulangan, analisa data kuantitatif dilakukan terhadap nilai kerapatan, dominasi, frekuensi, nilai penting dan indeks keanekaragaman masing-masing jenis tumbuhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa vegetasi terdiri dari 16 suku dan 19 jenis, didominasi oleh Pteridophyta dan Spermatophyta. nilai keanekaragaman vegetasi sebesar (2,24) dan nilai keseragaman 0,30. Semakin ting-gi jumlah jenis maka semakin tinggi indeks keanekaragaman suatu jenis. Karakteristik yang demikian disebab-kan oleh pengaruh lingkungan yang dimiliki seperti kandungan bahan organik dan pH rendah serta faktor yang berasal campur tangan manusia.

Abstract

The Simpang Heran dand Sugihan rivers has been planned for outlet factory by the OKI Pulp and Paper. The changing function of these areas give some effects to quality of water and biota around the river. The aims of this research is to study of plankton structure community as biomonitoring instrument. The re-search was conducted during August 2017. The location sampling was determined by purpossive random sampling method in 3 stations. The sampling in the moody area was carried out by Eckman grab. The results showed that 70 genera have been classified into 9 classes. Plankton abundance ranges from 372 - 408 ind/l highest found in the confluence of Sungai Simpang Heran and Sungai Sugihan. The species diversity index ranges from 3 - 3.08 and, the low dominant index is around 0.03.

Abstract

It has been realized an instrument for measuring cassava starch content digitally based specific gravi-ty method. The instrument is designed using loadcell as mass sensor, Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) HX711, Arduino Uno as data processor, LCD, and personal computer. The principles of this instrument is us-ing specific gravity method, which are based on differences of cassava mass in the air and in the water. Cassa-va starch content calculated using Sungzikaw equation by microcontroller Arduino and displayed on LCD. The result showed that the instrument capable measure cassava starch content with maximum capacity of 2,2 kg and average error percentage of 1,4515%.

Abstract

The background knowledge of this research is based on the amount of patients’ pulmonary tubercu-losis who get failed doing their therapy and recur in having it after doing the treatment at RSUP Persahaba-tan.The objective of this research is to decrease the amount of patients get failed doing the therapy and recur at RSUP Persahabatan. The method of the research is Quasi-experimental with Nonrandomized Control Group Pretest-Postest Design. Furthermore, the technical sampling used is voluntaryby two apparent groups, 54 pa-tients as control group and 54 patients as experiment group.The instrument of this research are pre-test,posttest and Likert Questionair Model which is used to measure the knowledge and compliance toward the outcome of the therapy before and after it meets a good validity and reability test with standard α = 0,05. The conclusion is education pharmacy can increase knowledge and compliance with TB patients so that the outcomes of therapy against Pulmonary TB patients at RSUP Persahabatan is improved.

Abstract

Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito control can be performed at the larval stage using more environmentally friendly leaf of Spondias dulcis Forst. This study aims to determine the ability of extracts contained in the leaf S. dulcis Fosrt. as larvacide to larvae Cx. quinquefasciatus instar III. The study used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 6 treatments repeated 4 times. The treatment used was 125 ppm, 250 ppm, 500 ppm, and 1000 ppm with 2 controls, ie 0 ppm and temefos 1 ppm. Observations were made after 24 hours of exposure and data obtained in the analysis using one way ANOVA, to see the real difference used Duncan test, and Probit was used to calculate the LC50 value. The results obtained are the extract has the ability as a larvacide of killing by 92.50% at a concentration of 1000 ppm.

Abstract

Musi River Sungsang Village which is located near the settlement makes people throw garbage into the sea during high tides so that it will affect water quality and have an impact on macrozoobenthos. It is im-portant to know the diversity of macrozoobenthos in the waters of the Musi River in Sungsang Village, South Sumatra. This research was carried out from January 2018 to August 2018 in the Musi River in Sungsang Vil-lage, South Sumatra by using the method of direct observation and randomized group design. The research location was determined by purposive sampling method and divided into 4 stations, each station had 1 line transect and each line transect was taken as many as 10 samples. ANOVA, overley and correlation analysis are used to process data. Based on research conducted in the Musi River in Sungang Village, there were 14 ma-crozoobenthos taxa consisting of 3 classes: bivalves, gastropods and polychaeta. Index of macrozoobenthos di-versity in Musi River in Sungsang Village is classified as ranging from 0,000 – 1,733. Organic matter does not af-fect macrooobenthic in the Musi River in Sungsang Village, South Sumatra

Abstract

Mammals is one of the framers class of the diversity of wildlife on an ecosystem. The data about mammal’s diversity in Gunung Raya Wildlife Reserveare still limited for the biodiversity management especially on mammals in this area. One methods to know the presence of mammals in Gunung Raya Wildlife Reserve is by doing the inventory. The aim of this research is to know the presence of mammals and its conservation status in Gunung Raya Wildlife Re-serve South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency South Sumatera Province. This research was done from March 2017 to April 2018 in Gunung Raya Wildlife Reserve, exactly on Pasir Bintang, Mesagi, Bukit Lebong, and Manduriang South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency South Sumatera Province. The method used for this research was by Reconnaissance Walk. The data collected by direct observation, camera trap, life trap, mist net, activity track and interviews. There are 23 species of mammals recorded in Gunung Raya Wildlife Reserve by this research, 9 of those species listed as protected animals based on PerMen LHK No. 20 Thn 2018, which are Symphalangus syndactylus, Nesolagus netscheri, Manis javanica, Lariscus insignis, Ratufa affinis, Tapirus indicus,Presbytis melalophos, Trachypithecus cristatusand Helarctos malaya-nus and based on IUCN 2018 there are 1 species which is Manis javanica categorized as CR (Critically Endangered) which in the near future will be threatened of the extinction.

Abstract

Pare is one of the plants used as an herbal medicine, one of which is for infectious diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the antifungal activity ethanol extract fraction leaves of Pare. The extraction was carried out using maceration method and then fractionated using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water solvents. The antifungal activity was determined using the agar diffusion method. The test fungus was using Microsporum canis at a serial concentration of 1,5%, 1% and 0,5%. The results of antifungal activity test of n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction and water fraction of Pare leaf ethanol extract showed the existence of inhibitory zone diameter. In the n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate and water frac-tion the diameter of the largest inhibitory zone was 11,7 mm, 11,6 mm and 10,1 mm. Inhibitory zone showed that the fraction of ethanol extract of Pare leaves has antifungal activity.
