Abstract

The implementation of inclusive education is one of the government's efforts to providing quality education for all levels of society. However, to date, inclusive education is not working correctly, students with special needs must adapt to learning tailored to their abilities, interests and talents (integration education). As a result, they can not achieve learning objectives, and the worst thing is they will stay class or drop out. A slow learner is one type of disability who received less attention because of its vagueness, so their existence is difficult to identify. IEP (Individualized Education Program) for slow learners can help them achieve progress. Index of inclusion in this research was used to determine the extent of successes of inclusive schools in implementing inclusive education, while the assessment was done to determine the capabilities and needs of the learners.[Siswa slow learner menempati populasi tertinggi untuk siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Sebagai salah satu jenis learning disability, slow learner masih dapat belajar dengan teman sebayanya asalkan guru mempersiapkan program pembelajaran khusus yang telah dimodifikasi dari pembelajaran reguler. Program ini disebut Individualized Education Program (IEP). Penelitian ini mencoba mengembangkan IEP mata pelajaran kimia untuk slow learner, mengidentifikasi komponen yang dibutuhkan dalam menyusun IEP untuk slow learner, dan menganalisis judgement reviewers (guru kimia dan guru pendamping khusus) dan peer reviewers terhadap IEP yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan slow learner membutuhkan IEP sebagai dokumen utama panduan guru dalam pembelajaran kimia di kelas. Komponen pengembangan IEP meliputi identitas peserta didik, tim pengembangan dan pelaksana, asesmen yang pernah dilakukan, hambatan dan kekuatan, kebutuhan dan perlakuan, faktor pendukung dan penghambat, rencana perlakuan, dan modifikasi terhadap perangkat pembelajaran kimia reguler]

Abstract

Cerebral Palsy is a brain disorder that affects a motor area. Parents who have a child with Cerebral palsy are usually sorrowful. They feel hopeless and inferior because of their inability to manage their stress, and their resilience is poor. The level of stress management for each parent is different. For that reason, parents join an online group created on the Facebook online. Among the typical objective of joining such groups is to share their experience of having children with cerebral palsy. Is there any positive effect of this sharing experience toward their resilience? This study used a mixed method to answer this question. The quantitative data are collected by using questionnaire with a scale of CD-RiSC resilience and scale of sharing experience Response. This quantitative data is then elaborated by interviewing the participants by using purposive sampling technique. The research found that the Facebook group indeed helps the parents in improving their resilience. It is achieved by additional information and knowledge they learn from the group.[Orang tua yang mendapati anaknya terfonis sebagai anak Cerebral Palsy mengalami kedukaan mendalam yang mengakibatkan ketidakpercayaan diri, dan putus asa. Hal itu diakibatkan ketahanan terhadap stres (resiliensi) rendah, oleh karena itu orang tua mengikuti sharing experiences penyandang Cerebral Palsy melalui Facebook Group orang tua anak Cerebral Palsy. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjawab pertanyaan adakah pengaruh sharing experiences penyandang Cerebral Palsy terhadap resiliensi orang tua anak Cerebral Palsy yang terhimpun dalam Facebook Group Orang Tua Anak Cerebral Palsy. Penelitian menggunakan methode kombinasi antara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian menemukan bahwa Facebook Group berpengaruh pada peningkatan resiliensi orang tua anak cerebal palcy karena mereka mendapatkan pengetahuan dan informasi tambahan dari forum itu.]

Abstract

The focus of this study is the management of workers with disabilities as efforts to achieve an inclusive workplace in PT. Trans Retail Indonesia. The study also elaborates supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of labor management. This is a qualitative research that collects the data using literary studies, observation and in-depth interview. The result shows that the management is started from knowledge level of the company about workers with disabilities, selection process, development, compensation and maintaining the employs. In addition, they identify key factors of managing different ability such as stakesholders, associate support, mentoring and counseling for workers with disabilities. The obstacles of managing workers with disabilities include professionalism, communication, and productivity that lead to an attempt of firing. Overall, PT. Trans Retail Indonesia can be classified as one with ability to develop diversity management in order to organize a workplace inclusion.[Penelitian ini membahas pengelolaan tenaga kerja difabel (diversity management) di PT. Trans Retail Indonesia serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pelaksanaan pengelolaan tenaga kerja penyandang disabilitas yang diterapkan oleh perusahaan dalam mewujudkan tempat kerja yang inklusif. Ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang mengumpulkan data dari literatur, wawancara, dan observasi. Analisis dimulai dari pemahaman perusahaan mengenai tenaga kerja difabel, pengadaan tenaga kerja, pembinaan tenaga kerja, pemberian balas-jasa dan pemeliharaan tenaga kerja. Penelitian menemukan faktor pendukung pengelolaan tenaga kerja berupa kerjasama stakesholders, dukungan rekan kerja, pendampingan serta konseling bagi karyawan difabel. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya adalah komunikasi, dukungan sejawat, tenaga profesional dan produktivitas kerja karyawan difabel yang mengancam keberlanjutan kerja mereka. Meskipun demikian, PT. Trans Retail Indonesia dapat dianggap memiliki modal yang cukup untuk mengembangkan diversity management dalam upaya mewujudkan workplace inclusion. ]

Abstract

The research of this paper was carried out in Dusun Tanggungrejo, Desa Karangpatihan, Kecamatan Balong, Kabupaten Ponorogo, a village that seeks to empower their fellow villagers who are down syndrome. The paper answers the question of does the empowerment by the village help the disabled reach their wellbeing. In answering that question, this article uses James Midgley concept of three wellbeing indicators, including the ability to manage social problems; fulfilment of their need; and the potential of the social opportunity. The result of this paper is presented qualitatively to describe the social wellbeing and social activity of persons with down-syndrome. The data was collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The result of this research shows that those with mild and modest syndrome reach the wellbeing. While those who have a severe syndrome, fail to derive their welfare.[Penelitian ini dilakukan di Dusun Tanggungrejo, Desa Karangpatihan Kecamatan Balong Kabupaten Ponorogo, sebuah dusun yang puluhan warganya adalah tunagrahita dan mendapatkan beberapa pelatihan, bantuan, dan pemberdayaan yang diberikan masyarakat untuk warga tunagrahita. Penlitian ini menjawab pertanyaan apakah upaya warga tersebut dapat menyejahterakan para tunagrahita? Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut, peneliti menggunakan teori James Midgley tentang tiga ukuran kesejahteraan sosial yang meliputi: kemampuan mengelola masalah sosial dengan baik, kebutuhan tercukupi, dan terbukanya peluang sosial di masyarakat. Penelitian disajikan dalam bentuk deskriptif kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis peristiwa, kondisi kesejahteraan sosial, dan aktivitas sosial warga tunagrahita. Data digali dengan metode observasi,  wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa mayoritas warga tunagrahita berkategori ringan dan sedang sudah dapat dikatakan sejahtera. Sementara warga tunagrahita kategori berat tidak mencapai sejahtera.]

Abstract

Disability is not something that is 'invisible', but it is something real and present among us.  Media, especially television through advertising, has a significant role in creating perceptions about disability and to change the paradigm of people on disability. This research discusses how Channel 4 (C4) through "We're the Superhumans" (WTSH) advertisement represents and constructs disabilities. This research used a qualitative approach and Peirce's semiotics method. The data are based on WTSH advertisement, literature study and documentation. Interviews were also conducted with C4. The results show that the disability is represented as 'superhumans' who have various abilities and achievements. Through 'Yes I Can' song, the spirit of the disability were represented. C4 constructed the reality of disability by displaying 140 persons with disabilities and celebrations for their achievements, not only as athletes but also as persons with disabilities in their daily lives.[Disabilitas  bukanlah  suatu  hal  yang  ‘invisible’  (tidak   terlihat),  namun merupakan sesuatu  yang  nyata dan ada diantara kita.  Media, terutama televisi melalui iklan, memiliki andil yang besar dalam menciptakan  persepsi mengenai disabilitas dan dalam mengubah paradigma masyarakat mengenai disabilitas. Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana Channel 4 (C4) melalui iklan “We’re The Superhumans” (WTSH) merepresentasikan dan  mengkonstruksikan disabilitas. Penelitian ini  menggunakan pendekatan   kualitatif dengan metode penelitian semiotika Peirce. Data penelitian berdasarkan iklan ‘We’re The Superhumans’, diambil dari studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Wawancara juga dilakukan dengan pihak C4 selaku pembuat iklan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa disabilitas direpresentasikan sebagai   ‘superhumans’ yang memiliki berbagai kemampuan dan prestasi. Melalui lagu ‘Yes I Can’, direpresentasikan  semangat para disabilitas. Melalui iklan WTSH, C4 mengkonstruksikan realitas mengenai disabilitas dengan menampilkan 140  penyandang disabilitas dan perayaan akan pencapaian  mereka, bukan hanya sebagai atlit, namun juga sebagai penyandang disabilitas dalam keseharian mereka.]
Peraga Mikrometer Sekrup Braille untuk Siswa Tunanetra Fithri Iradaty

Abstract

This research was conducted with Four D Models research design with a limited test involving three blind students at MAN Maguwoharjo, a physics teacher ath the school, and several students majoring in physics education FMIPA UNY. The result of the limited test shows that the props that have been developed can be applied as a screw micrometre model and the Braille-labeled LKS can also be used as a guide in a practicum implementation. The results of the assessment of the feasibility of the developed product are reviewed regarding several aspects which are the requirements of the measuring instrument that is validity (reliable), reliable, can be used internationally, is easy to produce, and safe. In general, Braille scarp micrometre displays are suitable for blind students. Besides, blind students strongly support the existence of braille screw micrometre displays equipped with this braille LKS as it will help them more easily understand micrometre screw gauges which in general this tool is still produced only for the non-blind.[Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Four D Models, dengan uji coba terbatas melibatkan tiga orang siswa tunanetra MAN Maguwoharjo, seorang guru fisika MAN Maguwoharjo, dan beberapa mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Fisika FMIPA UNY. Hasil uji coba terbatas menunjukkan bahwa produk peraga yang telah dikembangkan dapat diterapkan sebagai peraga mikrometer sekrup dan LKS berhuruf Braille juga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pedoman dalam pelaksanaan praktikum. Hasil penilaian kelayakan produk peraga yang dikembangkan ditinjau dari beberapa aspek yang menjadi syarat alat ukur, yaitu valid (dapat dipercaya), reliable, dapat digunakan secara internasional, mudah diproduksi, dan aman. Secara umum, peraga mikrometer sekrup Braille layak digunakan bagi siswa tunanetra. Selain itu siswa tunanetra sangat mendukung keberadaan peraga mikrometer sekrup braille yang dilengkapi dengan LKS braille ini karena akan membantu mereka lebih mudah memahami alat ukur mikrometer sekrup yang pada umumnya alat ini masih diproduksi hanya untuk orang awas.]
