Abstract

The purposes of this study were to determine: (1) The percentage of error in understanding questions, (2) The percentage of eror in the application of mathematical concepts and principles, (3) The percentages of error in computation, and (4) The most common type of error made by students in answering questions about angle, area, and circumference of triangle. The study population was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Mlati in Sleman Regency. The technique of sample was Cluster Sampling. The result of analysis showed that: (1) The percentage of error in understanding questions is 12,95% with very low category, (2) The percentage of eror in the application of mathematical concepts and principles is 59,82% with sufficient category, (3) The percentages of error in computation is 30,80% with low category and (4) The most common type of error made by students is application of mathematical concepts and principles. From the analysis it can be concluded that students still make some mistakes in answering questions about angle, area, and circumference of triangle, especially on the type of application error of mathematical concepts and principles.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the approach TGT cooperative learning model in order to improve student achievement in math class XA SMK Nurul Iman Muntilan. The study took place in two cycles with research subjects were students of class XA SMK Nurul Iman Muntilan Magelang Regency school year 2011/2012, amounting to 31 students. Objects in this research is the implementation of the process and the results obtained from the application of mathematics learning with cooperative learning model approach TGT in class XA SMK Nurul Iman Muntilan Magelang regency school year 2011/2012 as many as 31 students. Data collection techniques in this study with the observation, testing, documentation record and field notes. Test instrument used was a test pilot. Data analysis techniques for motivation observation done by calculating the percentage of each indicator. Test instrument used was a test pilot. As for the achievement test is done by calculating the average value and the percentage of students who meet the KKM. Results showed an increase student achievement in the learning process for each cycle compare with  test value in pre-cycle. Average value in pre-cycle 62,5 increased in the first cycle to 68,2 and the second cycle increased to 75,1. Percentage of students who meet the KKM also increased in pre-cycle 25,81% fixed with 48,39% in the first cycle, and the second cycle increased to 83,87%. The results could be a mathematics teacher input to increase mathematics achievement through cooperative Teams Games Tournament (TGT).

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to increase creativity and mathematics achievement of students in class VIID SMP N 2 Dukun, Magelang with cooperative learning model TGT (Teams Games Tournaments). Type Classroom Action Research. The subject class VIID and object creativity and mathematics learning achievement. Techniques of data collection are using observation, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The results after application of TGT models, creativity and mathematics learning achievement have increased. This is indicated by the average percentage of questionnaires result of student learning creativity by 47,27% pre-cycle, the first cycle of 60,74%, and 71,27% in the second cycle. Results of students mathematics learning achievement test, the average value of mathematics learning achievement at 52,96 pre-cycle, the first cycle increased to 68,20  and the second cycle increased to 73,67.

Abstract

The purpose of the study to describe the process of cooperative learning Student Team Achievement Division (STAD)  in order to increase learning activity and achievement in learning mathematics of class VII B SMP Negeri 2 Kokap. The type of this research is a classroom action research. The subject of the research are the students grade VII B SMP Negeri 2 Kokap. It consists of 23 students. The object of this research is learning activity and achievement in learning mathematics through model Student Team Achievement Division (STAD). The result of the study shows that after applying this learning model, activity and achievement has an increase. Students’ activity has an increase in pre-cycle show 40,99% become 59,63% in cycle I, whereas in cycle II shows the increse become 80,12% from the observation sheet. Beside that, the subjection mean of students achievement has an increase. In pre-cycle shows 50,98, in cycle I has an increase become 67,66, whereas in cycle II shows the increse become 83,12.
