Abstract

Natural dyes has a feature to produce soft colors. One of the natural dyes that can be used is pinang extract which applied to the jumputan textile. This research generally try to discover the effectiveness of pinang extracts for textiles coloring in terms of color fading endurance against the washing using whiting fixator and gambir. The research was conducted in PKK FKIP UST laboratory. The research population was: textiles, pinang extract, whiting and gambir. The research samples : textiles, pinang extract, whiting and gambir with the two treatments, the 10% and 20% concentration. This research using experimental methods and then tested in the Laboratorium Balai Batik. The assessment  results  of  Indonesian  National  Standard  (SNI) is  grey  scale. Visually, the result produced light brown color without the fixator, while using the whiting fixator produced a dark brown color and gambir produced yellowish brown color. Whiting fixator better than gambir because it produce sharper colors and has a higher value of color change.

Abstract

Humans who has a perfect physical can easily perform daily activities, one of which is eating. For upper limb disabled people, eating activity is very difficult. This research is for create and develop of assistive tool for eat that can meet the needs of users (upper limb disabled people), technical requirements, convenience of usability, ergonomic  assistive tool for eat . The method used to create and develop of  assistive tool for eat (Adjusted Spoon V2) is the Quality Function Deployment (QFD). Based on House of Quality (HOQ) matrix results, the first technical requirement is the motion mechanisms (priority 52.44%), second is spring (38.64% priority), third is digitalization (priority 8.92%). The results of this research are Adjusted Spoon V2 prototype that developed to be able to meet the needs of upper limb disabled people in eating activities that include spoon movement  flexibility, stick movement flexibility and treadle flexibility, making it easier for them to operate it.

Abstract

The development of digital book through SIGIL application in cookies and candys lessons was motivated by the lack of the interactive learning media for students. The purposes of this study were: (1) to develop digital book through Sigil Application concerning to the understanding and processing candys subject; (2) to know the feasibility of digital book based on the expert’s assessment and student’s view. This study used research and development (R&D) which was modified through ADDIE development model.The  phases of study were: 1) Analysis (needs identification & book prototype formulation), 2) Design ( digital book designing), 3)Development (digital book validation by experts, reading test and media opinion by students, analysis, and revision), 4) Implementation (digital book application for learning), and 5) Evaluation (digital book evaluation). This study was conducted up to third phase - development phases.The results of the study were: 1)  the development of digital book through Sigil Application concerning to the understanding and processing candys, 2) the result from the experts assessment of digital book feasibility is in average percentage  95,23% . As a learning media in cookies and candys lessons, it was estimated “extremely feasible”.However, the result of students assessment in media opinion was regarded positive as it had 91,43% in average percentage which assumed that the digital books were able to be used as cookies and candys learning media.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the attainment of mathematical problem solving ability among elementary school students in Yogyakarta Municipality and to describe errors that they make in answering the items in the test of mathematical problem solving ability. This was a qualitative and case study research. The research population comprised all elementary school students in Yogyakarta Municipality. Then, 3 elementary schools in Yogyakarta Municipality were randomly selected based on upper, middle, and lower ranks, namely SD Negeri Ungaran Yogyakarta, SD Bina Anak Sholeh Yogyakarta, and SD Negeri Karanganyar Yogyakarta. The study was carried out in Grade V in November 2015. The research instruments were a test of mathematical problem solving ability and an interview guide. Based on the data from the test of mathematical problem solving ability, interviews were conducted by involving 5 students from each elementary school. The results of the study show that the mathematical problem solving ability among elementary school students in Yogyakarta Municipality is still low, namely less than 68. Their mathematical problem solving ability at the stage of understanding a problem is 52.37%, at the stage of planning to solve a problem it is 29.091%, at the stage of solving a problem it is 23.09%, and at finding out an alternative it is 8.88%. The results indicate that many students have not attained the stage of rechecking by finding out an alternative way (solution). The errors that the students often make include inaccurate data, inaccurate procedures, unavailable conclusions, skill hierarchy problems, and indirect manipulations

Abstract

This study is aimed to explore the achievement of mathematical probem solving skill of student in PGSD Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University, and student’s mistake on mathematical problem solving test.This study is a qualitative research and case studies. The subjects were students of the University of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa PGSD Yogyakarta who have following courses Mathematics Learning Problems in Elementary School. Two classes were randomly selected two as a research subject, the classes C and G. The instrument in this research is a problem solving skill testand interview guidelines. Based on test data KPM then conducted interviews to 11 students.The results showed that the mathematical problem solving skill of students PGSD UST is low. It can be seen from the acquisition of the average class, class C and class G, both of them are in the category low (<68), ie 52.3261 and 55.2340. The percentage of the number of students who are in low category in class C is 95.65%, while class G is also quite large at 87.23%. Only a small proportion of students in the midle category. No one in the high category. Most of the student are in understanding of the problem level (65.12%), followed by the strategic planning (46.93%), carry out the completion strategy (32.08%), and the least is the stage of the re-examination (7.7%) , Mistakes made by students on problem solving skill test are incorrect data, the response level conflict, the problem of hierarchy of skills, the procedure is not appropriate, and the missing conclusion

Abstract

Geotextile is normally used in geotechnical and other civil engineering work. Geotextiles have been increasingly applied as reinforcement in road embankments. The purpose of this study is to develop the back calculation on safety factor of the use of geotextile as the reinforcement in road embankment considering the displacement in the Proyek Pembangunan Jalan Poncosari-Greges Kabupaten Bantul, D.I. Yogyakarta. The numerical analysis of the road embankment stability was analyzed by finite element method using PLAXIS. Plane strain model was used in this study to calculate the displacement of the road embankment. Analysis results showed that the safety factor obtained by analysis using PLAXIS on the embankment reinforced geotextile was 1.53, which was greater than the standard of safety factor of 1,2. This study concluded that the road embankment was a safe soil construction for the Project of Jalan Pocosari-Greges Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Determining the amount of production in an industry is a very important thing before starting the production process. Therefore we need a mathematical model that can help industry players in performing production planning. Mathematical model is a formula that helps industry players in PT. XYZ in solving semi-structured problems in the form of production planning. Many techniques are used to create a mathematical model, one of them with Fuzzy Logic. Fuzzy logic is one of the problem solving techniques where membership degrees are usually represented by values between 0 and 1, so they can be more balanced. One of the fuzzy methods that can be used in solving the problem is the Fuzzy Tsukamoto Method which applies weighted average to calculate the amount of production at PT. XYZ as the end result. The mathematical model of determining the amount of production using the Fuzzy Tsukamoto Method is able to produce a more optimal and balanced quantity of production compared to the calculation without using the method.

Abstract

One of the important aspects of a production that is inventory control of raw materials To have more material stock stored than what is needed by a company will not only raise the cost of interest, the cost of treatment and storage but also the possibility of the decrease of the materials´ quality which would affect the benefit of a company Therefore, this research used Lot Sizing MRP technique with Least Unit Cost (LUC) to minimize the total cost of materials stock.This research was done at Home Industry Multicoating on Resin Alkid material only in production of Nitrocelullosa Cleargloss (NC) paint. To order the material in the same amount weekly even though the use of the material is different at each time of production causes big amount of left-over to be stored. In 2015, The inventory cost of the materials by home industry method was IDR 96.741.158 in 48 times period of order and the inventory cost of materials by lot sizing MRP along with LUC was IDR 36.804.000. In 2016, after estimating the use of the materials, the inventory cost of materials by home industry method was IDR 90.248.581 in 48 times period of order whereas the inventory cost of materials by lot sizing MRP along with LUC method was IDR 33,848,581
