The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of people and services, pushing them toward new technologies that are in step with the development of a “New Normal” way of life. Contactless technologies have been realized as a mechanism to reduce the risks of infection, accelerating the move to touchless behaviors. The purpose of this study is to develop an Integrated Expectation-Confirmation and Health Belief Model (ECHBM) to explain an adoption and continuance intention to use contactless technologies during the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand. Based on an empirical research survey of 142 samples, the proposed conceptual model was empirically validated using structural equation modelling (SEM). The study found that perceived usefulness, perceived susceptibility, perceived seriousness, and satisfaction significantly influenced continuance usage intention of contactless payment technologies, whereas perceived usefulness and confirmation were found to be significant determinants of consumer satisfaction. The effect of perceived susceptibility was found to be relatively higher than that of satisfaction, and confirmation was found to have an indirect effect on continuance usage intention through perceived usefulness and satisfaction. The integrated ECHBM model has strong explanatory power (56.8%) to predict customers’ continuance usage intention toward use of contactless payment technologies during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study proposes a novel challenge to explain an adoption and continuance intention to use contactless payment technologies as a protective health behavior to mitigate risks of being infected by COVID-19. Teaching research methodology is one of the core components of various degree programs. Scholarship around teaching research methodology is beginning to grow with most work concentrated in Social Work, Health, Social Science, and limited work in the area computing education. This paper presents a reflection on adopting a student centred approach towards teaching research methodology course to three different groups of fourth level university students. In this paper the strategies for facilitating deep learning in teaching research methods and research methods in the Information Systems domain will be discussed. In addition, reflections on the use of a student centred approach, student experiences and strategies used. The experiences and strategies relate to facilitating deep learning. The experiences are focused on topic identification, conducting, and writing up the literature reviews, developing an understanding of the research methodology inclusive of data analysis and presenting the research report. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2021-01255 Full Text: PDF

This study's bibliometric analysis evaluates the scope and trends of theory-related policy publications in various international journals. The method used the Scopus search engine on random journals in identifying policy-related publications. The study also used a data visualization software called VOSviewer to analyze the results, underlying network linkages, and information production trends in policy analysis. The findings shows that only a few proportions of policy-related researches apply theories in their study. Field-specialized journals were having practitioners publish less research as compared to interdisciplinary science and technology journals. This article calls for greater engagements among scholars, and for policy researchers to more explicitly consider how their work might contribute to the understanding of the policy challenges. The findings also shows that it is important to recognize the approach and theory behind policy development to determine the incremental nature of aspects involved in policy development. It is extremely valuable to be clear that if one deals only with conceptual level of policy research without testing those ideas against independent empirical information, then scientific theory development is not possible. Thus, failure to consistently and clearly make theory connection towards policy research is a lost opportunity for scholars to influence policy thinking and public argument. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2021-01261 Full Text: PDF

The presented paper deals with a comprehensive interpretation of the term neuromarketing, as a discipline that applies neuroscientific methods to analyze and to understand human behavior in relation to markets and market exchanges. Due to the topic, this paper presents mainly secondary data, next the questionnaire is used. We state that neuromarketing is a discipline that applies neuroscientific methods to analyze and to understand human behavior in relation to the markets and market exchanges. Each of the neuromarketing techniques measures different data and suits different purposes, with a combination of the most reliable results. The interest in the theoretical research of neuromarketing focuses on the consumer decision-making process. One of the main benefits of neuromarketing is the potential to measure accurate, objective data that can be used to make informed decisions in management practice. However, it is currently only a complement to other areas of marketing and will be beneficial if it is used to obtain otherwise inaccessible data. We are convinced that the existence of the Neuromarketing Center in the ITI of the Olomouc agglomeration will be a significant contribution to the development of the neuromarketing theory. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2021-01256 Full Text: PDF

To protect their population during pandemic outbreak, countries apply several preventive restrictions and even shut down their economies to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Since food supply chains in developed countries are complicated and dependent on their external suppliers, these restrictions cause not only economic but also social tension. The limited access to raw materials, packaging material and labour force result in the increasing prices of food products, which forces the population to refuse from quality food products. In the European Union food supply chains, which are negatively affected by protectionist elements and COVID-19 restrictions, the room for manoeuvre of Latvia’s small open economy is limited. The current paper analyses the impact of COVID-19 crisis on global food industry, providing a deeper insight into the case study of Latvia meat supply chains’ experience in overcoming pandemic risks. The research outcomes lead to the conclusion that although COVID-19 impact during first breakout has not caused unexpected and serious consequences for the meat sector companies, the main internal and external risks are associated with further uncertainty and instability in the EU markets. Based on extensive analysis of meat sector specifics, the authors have summarized the recommendations for meat sector companies to better prepare for further potential pandemic situations. Objectives: Recently, due to special conditions that the global community is experiencing (Covid-19), there is growing interest in research in educational leadership, especially in higher education, which will create an environment embedded in a collaborative culture, open to improvements, testing, and often unexpected challenges. Among the different forms of educational leadership, transformational leadership is recognized as the most appropriate for application in higher education, as it focuses on the division of leadership among academics with different skills in order to manage in a collective way the range of leadership duties required in different contexts. Methods/Analysis: This view is also reflected in this research paper, which focused on the degree of three specific forms of leadership (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and leadership to be avoided) by members of the Senate of the University of Peloponnese. Descriptive and inductive methods of statistical analyses were applied for the interpretation of results. Findings: Notably, the findings indicate that leadership outcome has a strong positive correlation with transformational leadership and negative correlation with passive-to avoid leadership, confirming that higher transformational leadership implies greater efficiency and satisfaction for employees. Novelty/Improvement:A high degree of passive leadership coexists with the corresponding negative degree of implementation of digital leadership. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2021-01252 Full Text: PDF

In medicine, it is well known that healthy individuals have different physical and mental characteristics. Ancient Indian medicine, Ayurveda and the Persian-Arabic traditional Unani medicine has two distinct approaches for the classification of human subjects according to their temperaments. The individual temperament is an important foundation for personalized medicine, which can help in the prevention and treatment of many diseases including COVID-19. This paper attempts to explore the relationship of the utmost important concepts of these systems called individual temperament named as Prakruti in Ayurveda and Mizaj in Unani practice using mathematical modelling. The results of mathematical modelling can be adopted expediently for the development of algorithms that can be applied in medical informatics. For this, a significant literature review has been carried out. Based on the previous researchers' reviews the essential parameters have been identified for making the relationship and hypothesis were framed. The mathematical modelling was adopted to propose the existence of the relationship between the parameters of such an ancient and rich medicine systems. The hypotheses are validated through the mathematic driven model. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2021-01258 Full Text: PDF

The American film Poverty, Inc. alerted citizens to the fact that some “not-for-profit” organizations impair public benefit and seek profit. To avoid to contributing to such hypocritical organizations, this paper considers the possible use of SROI. SROI is an accounting concept used to evaluate NFPs. There is a problem called overhead aversion among contributors. It is hypothesized that spreading the use of assurance on SROI will face this problem. If so, a measure against this is necessary. This paper builds its theory on the existence of negative SROI as a tool to distinguish hypocritical organizations from genuine NFPs from the perspective of welfare economics, and argues that, theoretically, SROI can be negative. This paper then uses a questionnaire-based survey and conducts various statistical analysis to show that disclosure of SROI with assurance is practical. Nevertheless, it is also shown that assurance on SROI faces overhead aversion, a measure against which is provided by an influential paper. Spreading the use of SROI with assurance will trigger a shift from contribution to hypocritical organizations to contributions toward genuine NFPs. Such a shifts in contributions may also improve welfare. The main conclusion of this paper is that SROI with assurance can help contributors distinguish hypocritical organizations from genuine NFPs. A revolutionary change to public-key cryptography can be considered as an Identity Based Cryptography (IBC) in which identity of the receiver is being used as a public key for encrypting a message and Key Generation Centre (KGC). IBC will generate and distribute the private key to each user to decrypt a message. The thought behind presenting the scheme was to improve and reduce the complexity of certificate and key management, but it also gives rise to key escrow problem, access to encrypted information to unauthorized users. The paper represents Improved Identity-Based Encryption Scheme (IIBES) for Domain Name System (DNS) security which provides confidentiality and authentication through modified identity based encryption and identity based digital signatures. The IIBES comprises key revocation mechanism for non-revoked users and also eliminates key escrow problem. Thus, the IIBES aids to implement the identity-based cryptography more safely in reality and protects DNS against cache poisoning, spoofing attack and masquerade attack. Two-stream convolutional networks plays an essential role as a powerful feature extractor in human action recognition in videos. Recent studies have shown the importance of two-stream Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to recognize human action recognition. Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) has achieved the best performance in video activity recognition combining CNN. Encouraged by CNN's results with RNN, we present a two-stream network with two CNNs and Convolution Long-Short Term Memory (CLSTM). First, we extricate Spatio-temporal features using two CNNs using pre-trained ImageNet models. Second, the results of two CNNs from step one are combined and fed as input to the CLSTM to get the overall classification score. We also explored the various fusion function performance that combines two CNNs and the effects of feature mapping at different layers. And, conclude the best fusion function along with layer number. To avoid the problem of overfitting, we adopt the data augmentation techniques. Our proposed model demonstrates a substantial improvement compared to the current two-stream methods on the benchmark datasets with 70.4% on HMDB-51 and 95.4% on UCF-101 using the pre-trained ImageNet model.
