Abstract

Banjir yang melanda Jakarta pada bulan Februari 2002 menimbulkan kerugian sebesarRp 6,7 trilyun. Sebetulnya banjir tersebut dapat diantisipasi jika penerapan TeknologiModifikasi Cuaca (TMC) dilakukan sebelum kejadian banjir. Biaya operasionalnya hanyasekitar Rp 70 juta perhari. Kegiatan penerapan TMC untuk pengendalian banjir ternyatadapat menurunkan tinggi muka air ( TMA) di Pesanggrahan sebesar 51,6 cm (dari 149,9cm menjadi 98,3 cm), di Ciliwung 85,5 cm (dari 234,2 cm menjadi 148,7 cm) dan diSunter 32,3 cm dari 124,5 cm menjadi 92,2 cm). Dari evaluasi jumlah curah hujanmenunjukan bahwa kegiatan modifikasi cuaca dapat menurunkan jumlah curah hujansebesar 13,4 mm (sebelum kegiatan rata-rata per hari sebesar 27,9 mm dan selamakegiatan menjadi 14,5 mm ).Heavy floods occurred in Jakarta and vicinity in February 2002. The floods caused incatastrophe to both community and local government and destroyed infrastructure within the area. The lost was estimated of about 6.7 trillion rupiahs. Actually, the floods might be anticipated should weather modification technology be applied before the floods became too severe. The cost to carry out weather modification activity was only about 70 million rupiahs per day. Weather modification activity to manage rainfall intensity in order to control floods could decrease water level at Pesanggrahan of about 51.6 cm (from 149.9 cm became 98.3 cm), Ciliwung of about 85.5 cm (from 234.2 cm became 148.7cm) and Sunter of about 32.3 cm (from 124.5 cm became 92.2 cm). Evaluation on total rainfall over the area indicated that during the activity the average of daily rainfall decreased of about 13.4 mm, in which before the activity was 27.9 mm while during the activity was 14.5 mm.

Abstract

Banjir yang terjadi di Jakarta dan daerah sekitarnya pada tanggal 27 Januari hingga 1Februari 2002 disebabkan oleh besarnya curah hujan dan pengaruh dari sungai yangterdapat di daerah aliran sungai di dalamnya. Curah hujan yang terjadi sejak tanggal26 Januari hingga 1 Februari 2002 menyebabkan meluapnya sungai dan salurandrainase. Banjir yang terjadi menyebar hingga menggenangi beberapa dae rah diJakarta. Tinggi genangan mencapai 5 meter. Banjir tersebut menggenangi 42kecamatan di Jakarta dengan 168 kelurahan (63,4%) dari seluruh kelurahan yangada di Jakarta. Luas genangan mencapai 16.041 hektar atau 24,25% dari luas DKIJakarta. Curah hujan yang tertinggi yang menyebabkan banjir tersebut tercatat diBekasi sebesar 250 mm/hari yang merupakan curah hujan harian maksimum denganperiode ulang 150 tahun.The flood that occurred in the city of Jakarta area on 27 January until 1 Febru ary 2002was due to the torrential rainfall in the city and also in the catchment area of riversthat flow through Jakarta. The rain which started on 26 January until 1 February 2002caused overflow in the rivers and canals. Inundation in some areas and continued tospread throughout the city of Jakarta. The inundation depth was until 5 meters. 42districts on Jakarta within 168 sub districs (63,4%) from the all subdistrics in Jakarta.The inundation area has reached about 16.041 hectare or 24,25% from the total areaDKI Jakarta. The recorded daily rainfall depth at the Bekasi station was 250 mmwhich is almost the daily rainfall depth for 150-year return period as daily rainfall.
