Abstract

From several sources obtained regarding the existence of the Dutch fort in Sumenep, it appears that there were various events that occurred during the usage of the fort. In addition, there are several conflicting matters which still require further explanation. Various sources say that at first the Sumenep fortress had both military and civilian functions, which is evident from the mention of the fort as the residence of the Dutch trade representatives, although in the end the fort only functioned militarily, namely by adding troops who protected the fort and the appointment of a lieutenant as commander. There was also resistance to the British, which probably involved the fort as a means of defense.

Abstract

This paper is compiled based on the results of research on the Song Tritis site in 2002. Research after 2002, the results are relatively the same both in type and quantity. Differences may occur in soil conditions and absolute dating. The number of soil layers will increase if the excavation is carried out deeper and the absolute date will get older, which marks the oldest life activities in the Song Tritis Site, according to the excavation capability. Thus, the oldest dating in this paper cannot represent the oldest life span at the Song Tritis Site because it is suspected that there will be an older date obtained in future studies.

Abstract

As a cultural heritage, Kotagede in Yogyakarta, which was built in the sixteenth century, is within the framework of conflict. It is a fact that baluwarti as the physical boundary of the city and the most important part of its time is gradually disappearing. On the other hand, the development of the archaeological discipline has actually placed this kind of issue as part of its study. In this case, the political and public context are also positioned as stakeholders of cultural heritage, and not merely oriented to the academic context. Perhaps a theoretical, philosophical, and historic framework is needed to see how the walls of the Kotagede fortress are gradually being destroyed.

Abstract

It is very interesting to observe the journey of Prambanan Temple as a cultural heritage, which was initially managed as a hobby and a love for monumental works of art, until now as a world cultural heritage that is used as a product / attraction of the tourism industry. It is interesting because the journey illustrates the dynamics that reflect the complexity of tourism problems, both regarding social, cultural, economic and ecological aspects.

Abstract

The current concern of the Indonesian people is the decline in the morale of the nation. Why this happens, of course, is our problem together. One of the things accused of being the main cause may be the world of education. The ever-changing educational system is still looking for the ideal form. As a result, students become victims, besides that the material does not refer to the power of a multi-ethnic and multicultural nation. It was time for cultural observers; archaeologists and historians to think about this diverse cultural material in order to become one of the educational materials with the insight of Indonesian culture on a regional and national scale.

Abstract

One of the perceptions of the wider community regarding the meaning of a fossil in everyday life-among other things, is ancient or ancient objects. It is easier for the general public to relate the notion of fossils to something that is antique and in context of the past. Some of these perceptions are true, but in fact a fossil has a broader and more specific meaning. Therefore, the people's perception of fossils above is only an initial understanding - a part of the whole understanding - which is still far from the real understanding of a fossil, so it must be equipped with more perfect definitions. In the above context, this paper will try to provide some understanding of fossils and their details, so that people's perceptions of the inappropriate understanding of fossils can be avoided.
