Abstract

OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES OF CRAFT BUSINESS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. The creative economy is one sector affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Production and distribution of products remained disrupted, because of cancellations or delays in delivery of orders. The purchasing power of the people has also decreased so that sales of MSME products have decreased, and producers have lowered the selling price of the products. To survive during a pandemic, creative economy players apply strategies in the production and marketing of their products. On this basis, this Community Service activity held under the title “Opportunities and Challenges of Craft Business During the Covid-19 Pandemic”. This activity aims to increase the understanding and awareness of PPM participants regarding the challenges and opportunities in doing craft business during the Covid-19 pandemic. The PPM held on Friday, 29 January 2021, at 1 PM-finished, through the Zoom Meetings application and presenting speakers Anthony Sutrisno (jewelry designer and owner of Bumi Putih Spiritual Jewelry), Ani Wari’ah, and Iwan Ramdani, owners of Rineka Karya Art, and Rachmaniar, Lecturer in Communication Studies Program, Faculty of Communication Sciences, University of Padjadjaran. The PPM results show that to survive the Covid-19 pandemic, a creative economy artist must innovate the products they produce, and strengthen product quality so that buyers will remember them. Also, they can take advantage of social media in marketing their products so that they are widely recognized by the public. The conclusion of this PPM creativity to produce works that have a strong and innovative character is a strong asset for artists and artisans to maintain their business during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

YOUTHS ARE ALERT AND RESPOND TO COVID-19 AND THE ESTABLISH OF A SPIRITUAL COMMUNITY DURING THE PANDEMIC. The corona virus has become a pandemic that has hit all the world, including Indonesia. Along with the increase in the number of infected victims and the death toll on a national scale due to significant exposure to the virus, everyone becomes anxious and worried, including the residents of the village of Kartoharjo, East Java. Several attempts were made by the community and village officials to prevent transmission of the corona virus. Apart from physical effort, spiritual (inner) work is also carried out. Some of the activities carried out to support these efforts include, a) spraying disinfectants on roads, public places and people's homes, b) distributing basic necessities to the poor and affected, c) holding mutual cooperation markets, d) limiting social activities in outside the home, and e) perform "slametan" refuse logs and prayer together. In addition to these activities, education was also carried out to the public about diligently washing hands, wearing masks, and reducing the intensity of going out of the house aimlessly. With these activities proven to be effective in the spread of the corona virus, in addition, residents can be calm about the problems of life and death in the midst of the pandemic while remaining physically and mentally determined. The goal of this service activity has been achieved, this is evidenced by only 1 citizen who was positive for the corona virus.

Abstract

DIGITAL MARKETING DESIGN TRAINING FOR MSMES TO INCREASE INSIGHTS AND COMMUNITY INCOME IN CIKARAGEMAN VILLAGE, SETU DISTRICT, BEKASI, WEST JAVA. Cikaregaman village, Setu sub-district, Bekasi district, West Java Province, is a village that has quite a lot of MSMEs, especially those driven by youth and youth youth groups who are eager to increase their level of welfare, but cannot simultaneously increase their daily needs. Seeing the continuous conditions like this, we identified the problems that arise, including first, the people in Cikaregaman Village, Setu District don't know about the promotion of products that will be sold to the market, the second is that many people already have smartphones, but cannot make optimal use of them. , especially in terms of the promotional media for the products they sell. Thus we provide solutions in the form of computer training to introduce digital marketing design applications in the manufacture of pamphlets and banners, which will be used as a media for promotion of community products in Cikarageman village, Setu sub-district, especially for MSMEs among youth, Karang Taruna youth in Cikarageman village, Setu sub-district. To realize our work program as lecturers in realizing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely providing computer training in the form of a digital marketing design application with the Canva application in making their product promotions in order to increase knowledge on the use of smartphones as a promotional tool and increase the income of MSMEs, especially in the youth, youth and youth circles Cikarageman, Setu sub-district, Bekasi, West Java.

Abstract

DYNAMICS OF RURAL HOUSEHOLDS LIVELIHOOD STRATEGY IN FACING THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC. The life of rural communities is always faced with various vulnerabilities threatening their livelihoods. The vulnerability in this context refers to the Covid-19 pandemic. This pandemic has caused many community members to lose their sources of income while they are also faced with increasing and varied household needs. For this reason, they are required to be able to find new sources of income so that the needs of their household can be met. Income intensification and extensification are the ways they can take as a livelihood strategy. The purpose of this community service is to identify and describe the dynamics of livelihood strategies carried out by the rural households in dealing with the impact of Covid-19 in negeri Passo, Ambon City. The method used to achieve this goal is by combining socialization and training. The results are in the form of identification of problems, solutions and potentials of the kampung mama negeri Passo community. Furthermore, the community has various potentials to be developed but are limited by the access to assets. On the other hand, the negeri Passo community also has a social capital in the form of a “masohi” (gotong-royong) spirit to get out of the vulnerabilities that limit their livelihoods together. Their various potentials can be developed to obtain economic benefits as a household livelihood strategy by providing a concrete motivation.
