Abstract

Scheduling is needed to anticipate the clash of lecture hours for lecturers in teaching. Some things that need to be considered when arranging a lecture schedule are lecturers, rooms, courses, hours, and days. In this study, the scheduling system uses the Euclidean Distance method by modifying the algorithm. The aim of this study is to prove the Euclidean distance method in the course planning system in universities. In general, to obtain data that will be used in the scheduling system, observations, interviews and bibliographic studies are carried out. From the research results, the lecture scheduling system using the Euclidean Distance method can be used in the scheduling system, especially lecture scheduling. This is proven, that the lecture scheduling system using the Euclidean Distance method does not have a schedule for lecturers who teach more than one course at the same time (collide).

Abstract

South Kalimantan is one of the largest citrus fruit producers in Indonesia. One of the leading citrus fruit commodities in South Kalimantan is the Siam Banjar oranges (Citrus reticulata). This study developed a monitoring and control system for Siam Banjar orange plants based on IoT (Internet of Things) and Fuzzy Logic Control. The goal is to determine the performance of the Fuzzy Logic Control method in predicting the time to water plants based on temperature and soil moisture. The prototype comprises a Wemos D1 R1 microcontroller with DHT22 and an FC-28 moisture sensor. Two input parameters, temperature and soil moisture are utilised in Fuzzy Logic Control calculations. The output is the duration of the watering time in seconds. During testing, the value of the sensor is compared to existing manual instruments. In addition, fuzzy MatLab calculations are compared to the Fuzzy Logic Control method calculations. The FC-28 Soil Moisture sensor and hygrometer had an error rate of 3.2%, while the DHT22 sensor and thermometer had 1%. The Fuzzy Logic Control test for watering using fuzzy calculations in MatLab yielded a 3 per cent error rate.

Abstract

The drive toward citizen observatories, remote monitoring and early warning systems has resulted in numerous Internet of things (IoT) innovations. However, affordability and availability of these solutions challenge their sustainability in areas where they are needed the most. While low-cost sensors address this challenge, their reliability is often questionable. In this respect, this study set out to evaluate techniques that can enhance the efficiency of low-cost sensors in a bid to identify ways of developing sustainable IoT solutions. Experiments conducted using an infant postnatal care prototype demonstrate the potential of the identified techniques. The results showed that sensor calibration, configuration, fabrication, fusion, and improvising techniques have the potential to enhance the quality of low-cost sensors. Future work in this area will scale the solution to other use cases.

Abstract

Security is very important everywhere, including in the campus environment. To provide security and comfort for those who park their vehicles, a parking application is needed that can provide vehicle security while undergoing academic activities on campus. QR code (Quick Response Code) is a technology for converting written data into a two-dimensional code, which is printed on a more compact medium capable of storing various types of data. The most common individual part used to identify a person is the face because it has the unique characteristics of everyone. Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) is a feature extraction used for face identification based on histogram of gradient orientation and gradient magnitude. This application is implemented using the Dlib library for facial recognition. The implementation of this method is expected to improve parking security and provide a record of parked vehicles. The results of testing the implementation of facial recognition methods into android applications show very satisfactory results. With the results of testing the QR code scanning accuracy of 100% and an accuracy of 90% for a 7% damage rate and an accuracy of 85% for a 15% damage rate, and the results of facial recognition testing of 90% on face photos wearing helmets and an accuracy of 92% on photo of face without helmet.

Abstract

The use of indoor and outdoor lighting systems that are still passive makes the use of electrical energy less efficient and classified as wasteful. From the problems that occur in the system that is running, the researchers need to develop a more dynamic system by utilizing the Tsukamoto FLC method and Arduino using voice control to adjust the intensity of the light in the room. After implementing as well as testing the system that has been made, namely the Prototype of Light Intensity Regulator in the Work Room With Voice Control and Fuzzy Logic Control using NodeMCU ESP8266, it is concluded that each component can function according to its function which can be controlled and monitored from the application, implements fuzzy logic control on nodemcu with time and activity input variables obtained from the android application while the room light intensity variable is obtained from the light sensor or LDR. The results of the fuzzy process will adjust the light which is controlled by nodemcu. With the fuzzy logic control in this system, it can adjust the light to the room conditions, making it much more efficient.
