Abstract

This research is aimed at finding out whether: The purpose of this research is to find out to what extent that the English texts that included in affective value effective in teaching reading at tenth grades of SMA NW Pancor in the school year 2012-2013The method which was applied in this research was experimental study. It was conducted at the tenth grades of SMA NW Pancor.  The population of the research is tenth grades of SMA NW Pancor in the academic year of 2010. The samples were two classes. In taking the sample, a cluster random sampling technique was used. Each class was divided into two groups.  Then, the techniques which were used to collect the data were a multiple choice test for getting the data of the students’ reading skill. The instruments were tried out to get valid and reliable items. T-test was used to analyze whether the alternative hypothesis is accepted or not.The statistical analysis had described that mean of the experimental group on pre-test is 12.87 and mean score on post-test is 16.06. Meanwhile, mean score of the control group on pre-test is 13.09 and mean score on post-test is 14. By using t-test at the level of significance (a) 0.05, the researcher got t-test t-table, that is 6.18 2.00, it means that there was a significant difference between the students’ reading comprehension before and after students were taught by using the English texts that included in affective value. Besides in the hypothesis testing, the result showed that the students’ achievement on posttest at experimental group was categorized into high rank. Meanwhile, the control group on posttest was categorized into average. It can be concluded that the English texts that included in affective value as a media was effective in teaching reading. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that in general the English texts that included in affective value is more effective than the conventional texts to teach reading.In accordance with the above result, the English teacher is expected to be able to select the appropriate teaching media to teach reading for their students. Key Words: affective value, English text, and Teaching Reading

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan yang dimiliki masyarakat dan besarnya modal uang yang dibutuhkan dalam pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan tersebut serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan sebagai tambahan pendapatan ekonomi masyarakat Desa Wanasaba Kecamatan Wanasaba. Kegiatan  penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan di Desa Wanasaba Kecamatan Wanasaba Kabupaten Lombok. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Deskriptif Kualitatif. Tekhnik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan 3 cara yaitu survei, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Populasi terdiri dari 80 kepala keluarga. Teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik sampel acak sederhana (Simple Random Sampling). Jenis data yang diperlukan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer berupa data tentang pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan dan data pendapatan masyarakat. Sedangkan data skunder berupa data-data pendukung seperti data monografi desa dan lain-lain. Dalam menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan tabel distribusi frekuensi  untuk mempermudah analisis data. Berdasarkan analisis data yang telah dikumpulkan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa adapun bentuk-bentuk dari pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan yang berpengaruh terhadap meningkatnya pendapatan adalah pertanian atau perkebunan( perkebunan mangga, pisang, kangkung dan palawija). Peternakan (peternakan sapi, kambing, ayam, itik, ikan air tawar dan burung dara) serta jenis usaha lainnya (jualan sembako, perbengkelan, rental komputer dan poto kopi, konter pulsa, warung nasi, jualan makanan ringan, membuat batako, genteng dan bata merah). Sedangkan untuk besarnya pendaptan yang diperoleh dari pemanfaatan pekarangan tersebut yaitu mulai dari Rp.500.000-Rp.1.000.000 perbulan dan bahkan Rp.1.000.000 perbulan. Kata Kunci: Lahan pekarangan, pendapatan ekonomi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Quantum learning on learning motivation and mastery of science concepts of fourth grade students. This study was an experimental research conducted at SDN 3 Pancor, involving 60 students. The control group was 30 students of IV B class, the experimental group was 30 students of IVC class. The class were determined using random sampling technique. Quantum Learning is the independent variable, learning motivation and mastery of science concepts are as the dependent variables. The data were collected using questionnaire and mastery of science concepts test. The data were analyzed using Manova with the assistance of SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The result of the analyses shows that: (1) there is a significant difference in learning motivation between students learning using quantum learning and those using conventional learning (F = 26.47, p 0.05), (2) there are significant differences between the science concept mastery between students learning using quantum learning and those using conventional learning (F = 26.36, p 0.05), (3) there are significant differences in learning motivation and mastery of science concepts between students learning using quantum learning and those using conventional learning (F = 26.14, p 0,05). Quantum learning can be said to affect student motivation and the mastery of science concepts. Keywords: Quantum Learning, learning motivation, and mastery of science concepts

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui siapa yang berperan dalam pengambilan keputusan melakukan kawin muda dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dampak pasca perkawinan usia muda di Dusun Orang Desa Pandan Wangi. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini di Dusun Orang Desa Pandan Wangi Kecamatan Jerowaru Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Jenis penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini tidak terbatas sehingga peneliti menggunakan Non Probability Sampling. Adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pasangan suami-istri yang melakukan perkawinan usia muda di Dusun Orang yang jumlah populasinya adalah ±73 orang dan sampel penelitian ini adalah 40  orang responden. Penelitian ini difokuskan hanya pada pihak perempuan saja. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara tertutup dengan menggunakan angket.  Dan analisis data yang digunakan adalah menggunakan tabel frekwensi tunggal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa yang paling banyak memiliki peranan dalam pengambilan keputusan usia kawin adalah pelaku perkawinan itu sendiri atas dasar keinginan sendiri (inisiatif sendiri) dengan hasil presentase 67.5% dan sisanya diputuskan oleh orangtua dan keluarga dekat  30%,  serta calon suami (pacar) 2.5%. Dampak yang terjadi pasca perkawinan usia muda Di Dusun Orang adalah terdapat pelaku kawin muda yang rumah tangganya tidak harmonis bahkan ada yang berujung pada perceraian. Kata Kunci: Pengambilan keputusan, usia kawin muda.
