Abstract

In the current context, many campus da'wah institutions face challenges in managing effective programmes, often getting caught up in annual routines without a clear direction. This situation leads to low effectiveness and sustainability of da'wah programmes. Therefore, it is important to apply modern management principles such as POAC so that da'wah can be carried out in a systematic and planned manner. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) management model in optimizing the da'wah program at the Islamic University Campus Da'wah Institute. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving the head of the Campus Da'wah Institute, division administrators, and activity participants as research subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the da'wah program planning had been carried out systematically through the preparation of a Work Plan and Program Budget based on needs analysis. Organization was effective with a clear management structure and solid inter-divisional coordination. At the implementation stage, a participatory leadership style was able to encourage active involvement of administrators and increase the effectiveness of da'wah activities. Meanwhile, the control function was carried out through post-event evaluations and accountability reports, although weaknesses were still found regarding the consistency of supervision.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of women's empowerment through training in making cloth sanitary napkins in Kesenden Village. The main issues raised are women's limited access to hygienic and affordable menstrual products, as well as the lack of economic opportunities for housewives. The purpose of the study was to analyze the impact of the training on the reproductive health and economic independence of participants in Kesenden Village. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Informants were selected purposively from PKK members who participated in the training. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observations, then analyzed thematically. The results showed that the training had a significant positive impact. From the reproductive health aspect, there was an increase in knowledge and practices of menstrual hygiene among participants, which has the potential to reduce the risk of infection. From the economic independence aspect, this training not only resulted in savings in routine household expenses thanks to independent cloth sanitary napkin production, but also opened up new entrepreneurial opportunities that allowed participants to earn additional income. In conclusion, the cloth sanitary napkin training program in Kesenden Village was effective in empowering women holistically. This initiative not only improved the quality of reproductive health, but also strengthened economic independence, which ultimately contributed to improving the welfare of families and the community as a whole.

Abstract

Youth participation in volunteer activities is not always perceived positively, as young people are often considered to lack professional experience. The Milenial Bergerak Community in Yogyakarta serves as a platform for youth to engage in community-based volunteerism. This study aims to examine the factors that motivate youth participation in volunteer activities within the Milenial Bergerak Community. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method, involving nine informants consisting of board members and active volunteers from the first batch of the community. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that youth participation is driven by interrelated motivational factors based on functional motivation theory. The dominant motivation falls under the values category, reflecting altruistic intentions such as helping others, sharing happiness, and gaining inner satisfaction, followed by the understanding category, which emphasizes the desire to learn and expand social awareness. Other motivations identified include protective, enhancement, and career. The source of motivation is predominantly intrinsic, originating from internal personal values rather than external rewards. The dominance of intrinsic motivation suggests that the sustainability of youth volunteer movements is strongly influenced by personal meaning and social awareness, indicating the importance of strengthening reflective spaces and learning-oriented engagement within volunteer communities

Abstract

This article discusses the process of community empowerment through the preservation of traditional Minangkabau arts and culture carried out by the Tapian Janiah Lunto Community in Nagari Lunto, Sawahlunto City. This research begins with the problem of the fading of local cultural values and the increasing social vulnerability among adolescents due to the strong current of globalization. The main objective of the research is to describe how the arts of randai, plate dance, and traditional music are utilized as strategic instruments to strengthen cultural identity, build social solidarity, and prevent juvenile delinquency. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted thematically using the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) framework to highlight the utilization of local cultural, social, and human resource assets as a basis for empowerment. The results show that the Tapian Janiah Community is able to create a safe, inclusive, and productive social space for the younger generation. Artistic activities not only preserve culture but also increase adolescent self-confidence, strengthen social cohesion, and provide a positive alternative that is effective in preventing deviant behavior. These findings confirm that local culture-based empowerment is a transformative strategy that can be implemented sustainably and replicated in other communities with similar characteristics

Abstract

Early-age marriage remains a prevalent social phenomenon in rural areas and takes place within diverse social, economic, and cultural contexts. Rather than being understood solely as a practice with negative consequences, early-age marriage needs to be examined from the perspective of marital readiness and family resilience. This study aims to analyze the level of family resilience among early-age marriages in Cijambu Village, Tanjungsari District, Sumedang Regency by applying a family resilience framework encompassing legal and family integrity, physical resilience, economic resilience, social-psychological resilience, and socio-cultural resilience. This study employed a descriptive quantitative method involving 30 families who entered marriage during adolescence. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive percentage techniques. The findings indicate that the level of family resilience among early-age marriages in Cijambu Village falls into the very high category, with an index score of 84%. Social-psychological resilience emerged as the strongest dimension, while physical resilience was the weakest. These findings suggest that family resilience in early-age marriage is contextual in nature and shaped by marital readiness as well as social and socio-cultural support within rural communities

Abstract

Structural poverty experienced by underprivileged communities remains a complex social problem, characterized by limited access to jobs, skills, and markets. One strategic approach to addressing this issue is community empowerment through the development of a creative economy based on local potential. This study aims to describe the process of empowering underprivileged communities through creative economy activities, including program socialization, skills training, and product marketing. The study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through participant observation, structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques with data triangulation to increase the validity of the findings. The theoretical foundation of this study rests on the theories of community empowerment, the creative economy, and local potential-based capacity development. The results show that program socialization plays a crucial role in increasing community awareness and participation in the potential of the creative economy, particularly in the utilization of household waste. Hands-on skills training has been shown to enhance participants' creativity, technical skills, and confidence in producing marketable products. Furthermore, marketing strategies through digital marketing and the use of e-commerce platforms such as Shopee contribute to expanding market reach and increasing product competitiveness, despite the ongoing constraints of limited internet access. Overall, this study confirms that the integration of socialization, skills training, and marketing is a key factor in encouraging economic independence and the sustainable empowerment of underprivileged communities through the creative economy.
