Abstract

Persaingan di dunia industri saat ini menuntut para produsen untuk bersaing dalam memberikan kualitas produk yang baik dengan waktu produksi yang singkat serta biaya produksi yang relatif murah. Hal tersebut berkaitan dengan mesin produksi yang memiliki peran penting untuk menghasilkan produk dengan kualitas baik. PT. Voith Paper Rolls Indonesia merupakan perusahaan jasa dan manufaktur yang bergerak dibidang perbaikan roll dan pembuatan material roll cover. Salah satu proses produksi yang dilakukan pada saat perbaikan roll yaitu proses pembubutan yang dilakukan sebanyak dua kali. Pada proses pembubutan sering kali terdapat perbedaan waktu yang signifikan antara waktu aktual dengan estimasi waktu yang didapatkan dari formulasi eksisting. Oleh karena itu laporan ini akan berfokus pada upaya perbaikan formulasi perhitungan untuk estimasi waktu proses pembubutan di mesin bubut A pada hard plain rubber roll dengan menganalisis pengaruh luas permukaan terhadap waktu proses menggunakan metode regresi linier sederhana melalui aplikasi IBM SPSS.

Abstract

The screw turbine ( Archimede Screw ) is one type of turbine used in the Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) system. Archimedes Screw used to be used by humans as a water pump to make it easier to take water from rivers, but over time now the use of Archimedes Screw has turned into a water turbine. Archimedes Screw has the advantage that it is environmentally friendly because it does not interfere with the water ecosystem, has a low head and the resulting efficiency is also quite high. Factors that affect the performance of screw turbines are tilt angle, water head , water flow and bladescrew turbine. The purpose of this research is to find out what is the best slope angle to produce the highest power and efficiency to be applied to Hydroelectric Power Plants (PLTA). Variations in the tilt angle of the screw turbine shaft used in this study were 32º, 37º, 42º and 47º with a blade diameter of 0.35 m, a blade distance of 0.29 m and a blade length of 0.87 m, with a water flow rate of 0.013 m 3 /s. . From the results of this study, the maximum average rotation of the turbine shaft is 194.66 RPM and the generator rotation is 621.33 RPM, the generator power is 36,42 Watt and the highest efficiency is 37,5% at an angle of 47º.

Abstract

The industrial sector is one of the fastest growing sectors today. This means that many workers are absorbed in the industrial sector, both the manufacturing industry and the service industry. The workers acts as a driving force for the company to achieve its goals. Every process that goes through to achieve company goals cannot be separated from the risk of work accidents. This study aims to determine the potential risks of K3 through hazard identification, risk assessment, and proposed risk control so as to reduce or minimize work accidents. The research was conducted at PT. Jinde Group Indonesia especially in installation of a new fiber to the home (FTTH) internet network division. PT. Jinde Group Indonesia is a company engaged in internet service providers (ISP) that prioritizes quality and customer satisfaction, especially in the Gresik-East Java area. The method used in this research is HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control). The results showed that there were 7 work activities with 9 potential hazards, that are falling from the ceiling of the house, being scratched by a cutter, punctured by fiber optics, falling from stairs when tidying fiber cable installations and alternating ties, electrocuted when tidying fiber cable installations and alternating ties, exposed to splintered bricks, and crushed by the foot of the stairs. The results of the risk assessment show that 44,44% of the potential hazards are in the moderate category, 22.22% of low risk, and 33.33% of high risk. The proposed risk controls are engineering control, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and administrative control.  Keywords   : Occupational Health and Safety, HIRARC Method, Internet Network Company

Abstract

The Screw Turbine MicroHydro Power Plant is a small-scale power plant that produces < 200 kW of power, which utilizes the power (flow) of water as a source of energy production. MHP is a renewable energy source and deserves to be called clean energy because it is environmentally friendly. In terms of technology, MHP was chosen because of its simple construction and easy operation. The screw turbine can be operated in remote settlements that do not have electricity by placing it in a river with medium or large discharge to produce electrical energy. This research was carried out based on the previous reference, where the screw turbine which was carried out during this study had a size with a shaft length of 870 mm, an outer diameter of 350 mm, a pitch of 290 mm with 2 blades (screw) with a 35° Treaded turbin tilt angle. The screw turbine in this study produced the highest generator power of 38.4 VDC at a water discharge of 0.0205 m^3/s with a generator shaft rotation of 888 Rpm, a turbine efficiency value of 37.0% at a water discharge of 0.0133 m^3/s. The Screw Turbine has a Torque of 0.60139072 Nm.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health is now starting to be important for the wider community in Indonesia, especially for employees and industrial workers, considering the growing economy and industry as well as general development, the greater the potential for harm caused. Actually this problem can be overcome by applying existing methods such as Fault Three Analysis (FTA). The purpose of this research is to carry out risk management on work equipment system failures as an effort to control work accidents at PT. Swabina Gatra The design of this research is descriptive. Hazard identification in this research uses the (HIRARC) method then the hazard result with the highest value is used as the Top Event in the Fault Three Analysis (FTA) method. The implementation stage of this method is to identify the potential and overcome hazards in the Compressor System Unit for Bottled Drinking Water PT. Swabina Gatra. The results showed that there were 7 cut-sets or causes of failure in the compressor system. The cut-set results obtained by the prevention stage which are enforced are the provision of Earth-Leakage Circuit Breakers (ELCB) on the electric panel compressor system, Perform periodic pressure vessel calibration tests no later than once every 5 years, Work in accordance with SOPs or work instructions that have been set by the Company , and conduct periodic inspections or inspections and schedule repairs and maintenance.

Abstract

Increasing efficiency and effectiveness is a fundamental problem for every company. Optimization of raw material inventory is an effort for this problem. PT XYZ is a company engaged in manufacturing various flavors of beverages, one of which is sugar. The level of sugar usage in each month is probabilistic and dynamic. PT XYZ's raw material inventory is determined based on field assumptions, causing a shortage or excess of raw material inventory. This study aims to determine the policy of raw material inventory P backorder model with the integration of Monte Carlo simulation and Dynamic System. The raw material inventory policy is determined based on the order time interval, safety stock, and maximum capacity and compares the actual total inventory cost with the Monte Carlo simulation. Dynamic system simulation is carried out to ensure that the P backorder model inventory policy can be applied. The results showed that the total inventory without Monte Carlo was better than the total cost of the Monte Carlo simulation of Rp198.846.582,98 with an order time interval of 0,30929 years, a maximum inventory capacity of 11149,8 kg and a safety stock of 4335,83 kg. From the results of the comparison using the one sample T-test, it was found that there was no statistical difference between the results of the dynamic system simulation and the results from the calculation of the P backorder model so that the P backorder model policy could be applied to PT XYZ to determine the minimum inventory cost.

Abstract

Quality control is an activity that is used by companies to monitor and evaluate production activities and ensure that production activities meet production process standards. The purpose of this study is to help companies find out the causes of defects and create suggestions for improvement using the six sigma method. The six sigma method is one of the tools used to control quality. By using several stages, namely define, measure, analyze, improvement, control. From data processing and analysis, the total production is 160,800 pcs and the number of defects is 4303 pcs. Based on the results of the calculation of DPMO found as many as 80,280 per one million productions. Based on the Pareto diagram, the percentage of the most dominant types of defects is the type of paint defects that are not neat, so quality improvements are focused on these types of defects using fishbone diagrams.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, the development of the industrial sector is advancing rapidly. With the development of the economy in Indonesia, the need for furniture or household furniture is increasing. Pt Katwara is a company that sells furniture needs in Gresik Regency, East Java. In the erratic sales of a product every month, it is difficult for the company to determine product sales targets every month. With these sales problems, companies really need a sales solution that can forecast product sales every month Forecasting is a method used to estimate a future value using past data. In this study, the author discusses the analysis of forecasting sales of furniture products at PT. Katwara for this type of chair product. Forecasting is done using three methods, namely the Moving Average method for periods I, II, and III, the Exponential Smoothing with Trend method, and the Trend Analysis method by comparing the smallest error rate, the selected forecasting method is the Moving Average method with Period I. The Moving Average method with Period I has a MAD (Mean Absolute Deviation) value of 171.532, MSE (Mean Absolute Deviation) of 56789.49, MAPE (Mean Absolute Percent Error) 68.248%, and Bias of 1.957 while the standard error is 243.544. From the analysis of data processing that has been carried out based on the selected forecasting method, the sales forecast for the chair-type furniture product is 120 pieces, meaning that PT. Katwara must provide 120 chair-type furniture raw materials for the next period.

Abstract

Human resources are an important asset in a company and need to be developed. Human resource development is related to the performance generated in achieving the company's targets. The sustainability of human resource performance cannot be separated from work accidents. Many factors often cause work accidents such as: human error, electric shock, etc. This study aims to identify potential hazards, calculate risk level values, analyze the results of risk assessment calculations, and propose controls and solutions to reduce potential hazards and work accidents. The research was conducted in the maintenance division of CV. Dira Utama Sejahtera. It’s a manufacturing company engaged in the field of line pipe. The research was conducted using the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method. The results showed that there were 9 potential hazards, namely collision on the feet or head, electric shock, falling from the pipeline, pinched between pipelines, chemical explosion, hands hit by hot pipes, splashed by material, hands hit by drill bits, and slipped until the leg is sprained. The results of the risk level assessment that 11,1% fall into the category of low risk and extreme, 33,3% moderate risk, and 44,4% high risk. For risk control, it is proposed by elimination, administrative control, engineering control, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Keywords  : Work Accidents, Line Pipe Company, HIRARC Method

Abstract

Carbon-based material is one of the main filler materials for the manufacture of polymer composite bipolar plates for fuel cell applications. Some variation materials filler based carbon used on manufacture bipolar plate white high cost.  Determine of low cost filler materials is one of special issue for manufacture bipolar plate. Activated carbon is a alternative for suitable filler material base carbon at polymer composite and easy to find in Indonesia. This study investigates the effect of activated carbon composition in polymer composites on bending strength with a composition of 10, 20, 30, 40 (percent by weight) activated carbon (AC) with a polypropylene (PP) matrix. The sample has fabricated used hot press mouding with mix process at 220o­­­ C temperatures with 320 Psi pressure in 20 minutes. The bending test results with the standard three point bending test ASTM D790-03, The best value was found at a composition of 10% by weight of activated carbon of 26.9 MPa. This achievement has been obtained the Department of Energy, United State Of America (DOE USA) standard is 25 Mpa. This condition due to the polymer's composition of 10% KA to 90% PP, which makes it easier for the polymer to yield higher bonding and hence boost bending strength.
