AQLAM: Journal of Islam and Plurality (P-ISSN 2528-0333; E-ISSN: 2528-0341) is a journal published by the Ushuluddin, Adab and Dakwah Faculty, State Islamic Institute of Manado, Indonesia. AQLAM published twice a year and focused on the Islamic studies especially the basic sciences of Islam, including the study of the Qur’an, Hadith, Islamic Philosophy, Islamic History and Culture, Theology, Mysticism, and Local Wisdom in Indonesia. Abstract

 Abstract: The Instagram account @mubadalah.id is one of the accounts that actively colors the contestation of religious understanding on social media, especially Instagram. This Instagram account actively campaigns the gender equality within religious interpretations, which are built on a methodological basis called qiro'ah mubadalah, which was popularized by KH. Faqihuddin Abdul Kodir. Qira'ah mubadalah is a method of interpreting the Qur’an that emphasizes the aspect of mutuality, and places women and men as equal subjects addressed by religious texts, including the Qur’an. The researcher took several content samples from Instagram feeds and analyze them using interpretation analysis together with gender analysis. The selected content explicitly explains the understanding of the verses of the Qur’an that are closely related to gender issues. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the paradigm of fair gender interpretation in the Instagram account @mubadalah.id has 3 basic principles, namely: interpretation of the Qur’an must benefit all parties, interpretation of the Qur’an must not perpetuate the objectification of gender certain conditions, and the interpretation of the Qur'an encourages the division of gender roles in life in an equitable manner. Keywords: Social media, Interpretation, Gender Equality, Instagram account @mubadalah.id Abstrak: Akun instagram @mubadalah.id adalah salah satu akun yang secara aktif mewarnai kontestasi pemahaman keagamaan di media sosial, khususnya instagram. Akun instagram ini secara aktif menyuarakan tafsir keagamaan yang berkeadilan gender, yang dibangun atas pijakan metodologis yang disebut qiro’ah mubaadalah, yang dipopulerkan oleh KH. Faqihuddin Abdul Kodir. Qira’ah mubadalah adalah suatu metode penafsiran al-Qur’an yang menekankan pada aspek kesalingan, dan mendudukkan perempuan dan laki-laki sebagai subjek setara yang dituju dan disapa oleh teks keagamaan, termasuk di dalamnya al-Qur’an. Peneliti mengambil beberapa sampel konten dari feed instagram untuk kemudian dianalisis secara mendalam menggunakan analisis tafsir yang dibarengkan dengan analisis gender. Konten yang dipilih secara eksplisit menjelaskan pemahaman terhadap ayat-ayat al-Qur’an yang erat kaitannya dengan isu gender. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa paradigma tafsir adil gender dalam akun instagram @mubadalah.id memiliki 3 prinsip dasar, yaitu: penafsiran al-Qur’an harus membawa kemaslahatan bagi semua pihak, penafsiran al-Qur’an tidak boleh melanggengkan objektivikasi terhadap gender tertentu, dan penafsiran al-Qur’an mendorong pembagian peran secara adil gender dalam kehidupan. Abstract

Abstract: This research seeks to explain the cultural changes and identity in diasporic experience among Javanese Muslims of Ponorogo in Johor, Malaysia. Stuart Hall's perspective on cultural identity and diaspora stress that these are significant concerns for anyone struggling the identity. This paper also examines the notions of a homeland the Javanese Muslims of Ponorogo diaspora in Johor, Malaysia, has held over the past 110 years. What do these notions entail, which developments were essential to their continuity and change, and in what way are current notions of a homeland related to the present-day status and position of the Javanese Muslims of Ponorogo the local society? The cultural changes of the Ponorogo Muslims diaspora in Johor maintained their cultural identity and social harmony with the local society. This research aims to look further at the negotiation process of cultural identity among Ponorogo Muslims in their tradition. The tradition is a cultural dialectics of Javanese and Malay culture. Even these traditions are dynamically changing to be simplified, the essence of their cultural tradition is not affected. Internally, in Johor, sometimes there are other traditions, but they do not take their Javanese identity off. Key Words : Identity, Tradition, Ponorogo Muslims. Abstrak: Penelitian ini berusaha menjelaskan perubahan budaya dan identitas dalam pengalaman diaspora di kalangan Muslim Ponorogo di Johor, Malaysia. Dalam perspektif Stuart Hall tentang identitas budaya dan diaspora menekankan bahwa hal ini menjadi perhatian penting bagi siapa pun yang berupaya untuk mempertahankan identitas tersebut. Tulisan ini juga mengkaji konstruksi gagasan ‘tanah air’ bagi diaspora Muslim Ponorogo di Johor, Malaysia, selama 110 tahun terakhir. Apa yang terkandung dalam gagasan-gagasan tersebut dan bagaimana perkembangan bagi kesinambungan dan perubahannya, serta dengan cara apa gagasan-gagasan tentang tanah air terkait dengan status dan posisi kaum Muslim Jawa Ponorogo saat ini dalam masyarakat setempat? Perubahan budaya diaspora Muslim Ponorogo di Johor mempertahankan identitas budaya dan keharmonisan sosial mereka dengan masyarakat setempat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat lebih jauh proses negosiasi identitas budaya umat Islam Ponorogo dalam tradisinya. Tradisi tersebut merupakan dialektika budaya dari budaya Jawa dan Melayu. Bahkan tradisi-tradisi ini secara dinamis berubah menjadi disederhanakan, esensi tradisi budaya mereka tidak terpengaruh. Secara internal, di Johor, terkadang ada tradisi lain, tetapi tidak menghilangkan identitas Jawanya. Kata Kunci : Identitas, Tradisi, Muslim Ponorogo.

Abstract

Abstrac: This article is to find out in the study of Islamic normativism about pornography as a social phenomenon caused by technological advances and the development of social media in people's lives. In the Islamic view, pornography is certainly strictly prohibited because it has an impact on moral decadence for the perpetrator. In Islamic studies, there is no clear mention of pornography because what is explained is only the issue of aurat and the consequences of adultery behavior that can damage the cultivation of life if not anticipated. Analysis of pornography in the current context must get answers from religious teachings so that the problems faced can be solved humanely so that the interpretation developed is not based on assumptions but through Islamic normative studies. Keywords: Reinterpretation, Islamic, Pornography, Social Media, TechnologicalAbstrak: Artikel ini untuk mengetahui dalam kajian normativisme Islam soal pornografi sebagai sebuah fenomena sosial yang diakibatkan salah satunya karena kemajuan teknologi dan perkembangan media sosial dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Dalam pandangan Islam, pornografi tentu sangat dilarang karena berdampak pada dekadensi moral bagi pelakunya. Dalam kajian keislaman tidak disebutkan secara jelas tentang pornografi  karena yang dijelaskan hanya persoalan aurat dan akibat yang ditimbulkan dari perilaku perzinahan yang dapat merusak tatanam kehidupan apabila tidak diantisipasi. Analisis tentang pornografi dalam konteks kekinian harus mendapat jawaban dari ajaran keagamaan agar persoalan yang dihadapi dapat diselesaikan secara manusiawi sehingga interpretasi yang dikembangkan bukan atas dasar asumsi akan tetapi melalui kajian normatif keislaman. Kata Kunci: Reinterpretasi, Islam,  Pornografi, Media Sosial, Tekhnologi

Abstract

 Abstract: This article discusses the shift from Islamism to Neo-fundamentalism. Where the term Islamism here is often referred to as Political Islam. Islamism is a movement that makes Islam the basis of its struggle, including organizing the government. Islamism aims to revive Islamic law. But this reemergence of Islamism is not an emergence by Faith but by political claims. Islamism here longs for a historical revival and the glory of Islam, but this endeavor is a fabricated tradition. The emergence of Islamism in Islamic politics is a response to the existence of modernity understood as Western and foreign because it fails to fulfill Islamic interests as understood by Islamism. This failure of Islamism led to a shift towards Neo-fundamentalism towards the end of the 1980s. The neo-fundamentalism movement is very anti-Western. However, militant Islamic groups that previously fought for Islamic revolution shifted to be involved in re-Islamization from below.Key Words: Muslim Brotherhood, Islamism, Olivier Roy, Neofundamentalism

Abstract

Abstract: Throughout the ages, the discourses on leadership concepts in Islam have been dynamic. One of the factors is the debate between Islamic scholars on hadiths related to leadership. Ibn Kamāl, a scholar who was also a Turkish bureaucrat, was the first cleric who gave commentaries on hadits in Riyāḍu al-Ṣālihīn, including those in leadership theme. He was close to the throne during his life, and some said he had released some fatwas that enabled the sultan’s policies. Having learned about his unique background, this study aims to provide explanations about Ibn Kamal’s concept of leadership based on his commentaries on hadits in Riyāḍu al-Ṣālihīn and the influence of the political milieu in the hadith commentaries. Therefore, this study employs a thematic and historical-sociological approach to analyze the data. It results in some findings that according to Ibn Kamal, leadership is a process performed by its elements to achieve the collective purpose. Leadership expressed by the term imārah refers to leadership within the scope of government. Therefore, leaders and people must fulfil their obligations to realise good governance. Although this syarah was written in a context in which Ibn Kamal was very close to the ruler, even he was part of it, but the political context did not influence him in the explanation of the leadership hadith he wrote.  Key Words: Ibn Kamāl, Imārah, hadith commentary Abstrak: Selama berabad-abad, dinamika tentang konsep kepemimpinan dalam Islam telah diperdebatkan. Salah satu faktornya adalah perbedaan antara ulama Islam dalam memahami hadits yang berkaitan dengan kepemimpinan. Ibn Kamāl, seorang ulama yang juga seorang birokrat Turki, adalah ulama pertama yang memberikan komentar tentang hadits dalam Riyāḍu al-Ṣālihīn, termasuk yang bertema kepemimpinan. Dia dekat dengan takhta selama hidupnya, dan dikabarkan bahwa dia telah mengeluarkan beberapa fatwa yang memuluskan kebijakan sultan. Setelah mempelajari latar belakangnya yang unik, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penjelasan tentang konsep kepemimpinan Ibn Kamal berdasarkan syarahnya tentang hadits dalam Riyāḍu al-Ṣālihīn dan pengaruh lingkungan politik terhadapnya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan tematik dan historis-sosiologis untuk menganalisis data. Kajian ini menghasilkan beberapa temuan bahwa menurut Ibnu Kamal, kepemimpinan adalah proses yang dilakukan oleh elemen-elemen di dalamnya untuk mencapai tujuan bersama. Kepemimpinan yang diungkapkan dengan istilah imārah mengacu pada kepemimpinan dalam lingkup pemerintahan. Oleh karena itu, untuk mewujudkan tata kelola pemerintahan yang baik, pemimpin dan rakyat harus memenuhi kewajibannya dengan penuh tanggung jawab. Meskipun syarah ini ditulis dalam konteks di mana Ibn Kamal sangat dekat dengan penguasa, bahkan ia menjadi bagian darinya, namun konteks politik tersebut tidak mempengaruhinya dalam penjelasan hadits kepemimpinan yang ditulisnya.  Kata Kunci : Ibn Kamāl, Imārah, syarah hadis.

Abstract

Abstrack: This article aims to see how the decision of the Pancasila state as Dar al-‘Ahdi wa as-Shahadah was Muhammadiyah's response to the ideology of political Islam or Islamism. The approach used in this article is a qualitative approach using philosophical analysis. The primary Data of this study were taken from the manuscript of the state of Pancasila as Dar Al-‘Ahdi wa al-Shahadah published by the Central Board of Muhammadiyah. The results showed that the state of Pancasila as Dar Al - ' Ahdi wa Al-Shahadah decided by Muhammadiyah at the 47th Congress in 2015 in Makassar showed that the state of Pancasila is the result of national consensus and a proving ground to be a safe and peaceful country. For Muhammadiyah in the text of the Pancasila state decision as Dar al - ' Ahdi wa as-Shahadah, Pancasila as the basis of the state also contained Islamic and Indonesian values at the same time.Key Words: Pancasila State, Dar al-‘Ahdi wa as-Syahadah, Islamism.Abstrak: Artikel ini bertujuan untuk melihat gagasan Negara Pancasila sebagai Dar al-‘Ahdi wa as-Syahadah sebagai respon Muhammadiyah terhadap ideologi Islam politik atau Islamisme. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan kajian kepustakaan dengan pendekatan analisis tematik terhadap dokumen Keputusan Muhammadiyah tentang Negara Pancasila sebagai Dar al-‘Ahdi wa as-Syahadah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Negara Pancasila sebagai Dar Al-‘Ahdi wa Al-Syahadah yang digagas Muhammadiyah mengandung pengertian bahwa Negara Pancasila sudah merupakan rumusan final sebagai kesepakatan bersama di atas Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia. Lewat gagasan ini Muhammadiyah juga dengan tegas menolak ideologi islamisme yang bertujuan mengubah dasar negara.Kata kunci: Negara Pancasila sebagai Dar al-‘Ahdi wa as-Syahadah, Islamisme.
