Abstract

The influence of the globalization era can decrease the sense of nationalism, and it can be seen from the students in Indonesia. School is one of the institutions that can be used to develop the sense of nationalism in the younger generation, for example through the civic education and also other school activities. In terms of improving teachers’ performances in school, one of the important factors that can not be ignored is the ideal supervision from the school principal. This is the reason why the research about Darma Yudha Senior High School principal’s supervision in an attempt to develop a sense of nationalism through civic education was conducted. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data was collected by doing observations, interviews, and documentation. This research was conducted at Darma Yudha Senior High School, Pekanbaru, Riau Province. In general, this study aims to find out the school principals’ academic supervision as an attempt to develop a sense of nationalism through civic education. There were 8 respondents in this research, which are 1 school principal, 5 vice principals, and 2 civic education teachers. The results of the research are: (1) There are three indicators used by the principal in supervising the civic education teachers, (2) The procedure in doing academic supervision consists of three stages, from planning to reporting, (3) The achievement of teachers’ performances in developing the sense of nationalism is used by the school principal, teachers, and human resource department in planning, implementing and evaluating the school as an institution that implements the education of cultural and national characters, (4) To develop the sense of nationalism in the school, Darma Yudha Senior High School creates routine program activities as well as the activities that are conducted only during certain events, and (5) Evaluations carried out by teachers and principals in developing a sense of nationalism are carried out in a derivative concept. First, the principal conducts direction and guidance to the teachers, and then the teachers give them to the students as well.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the Adiwiyata school program at SMAN 1 Bangko. Starting from the program planning stage, implementation to the results that have been made together. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used a qualitative descriptive technique. The results of the research where the Adiwiyata program at SMAN 1 Bangko could not be said to be perfect. However, the school has tried to run the Adiwiya program as directed by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia. The Adiwiyata team, which has been formed, has been carried out quite well and has also involved all school members. Activities carried out include planting trees and flowers and recycling waste into valuable items. As for the factors inhibiting the running of the Adiwiyata program at school, apart from the lack of awareness of some students as school residents who are still littering, is flooding caused by natural factors. The Adiwiyata Team has carried out a semisification of road elevation and added drainage channels to prevent flooding

Abstract

This research has the purpose to know the implementation of Binaan Khusus Public Senior High School Of Dumai City. Research is focused on (1) Program to improve the quality of teachers and education personnel of Binaan Khusus Public Senior High School Of Dumai City, (2) Standard improvement program for facilities and infrastructure of Binaan Khusus Public High School Of Dumai City, (3) Student coaching program of Binaan Khusus Public Senior High School Of Dumai City. The theory that is used to evaluate Binaan Khusus Public Senior High School Of Dumai City programs is the theory put forward by Stufflebeam is the CIPP (Context, Input, Process dan Product) model theory. The research conducted is descriptive using a qualitative approach. A qualitative descriptive approach is used to describe the research findings as they are. Data collection was done by documentation, interviews, and observations. The research findings are presented in the form of interview transcripts supported by observations and documentation. This is done by triangulation steps, member checks, and peer examination. The research results show that : (1) Binaan Khusus Public Senior High School Of Dumai City has made an effort to improve the quality of teachers ad education personnel, (2) Binaan Khusus Public Senior High School Of Dumai City is already made effort to improve the standard of facilities and infrastructure, and (3) Binaan Khusus Public Senior High School Of Dumai City have carried out the maximum coaching of students.

Abstract

SMA Cendana Pekanbaru is a school under the auspices of the Riau Cendana Education Foundation. It is one of the private schools that implements an online student admission system. The New Student Admissions Information System (PPDB) is able to provide support for the management through an online system. It makes the storage media integrated so that administrative data can be searched quickly, precisely, and accurately. It avoids the possibility of data misinformation. This study aims to analyze and describe the implementation of the PPDB Online system and the supporting factors for the online PPDB system at SMA Cendana Pekanbaru. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques and procedures consisting of documentation, observation, and interview. From the research, it can be found that there are almost no significant obstacles to implementing the system at SMA Cendana Pekanbaru. The main factors supporting the implementation are the principal's leadership, human resources, strategy and technology resources, and cost resources.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing demand for quality education in PAUD institutions along with the increasing growth of PAUD schools in the city of Pekanbaru. With the growth of PAUD which is more than 5 percent per year, quality competition in the world of education is inevitable. Consumers, in this case, parents/guardians of course choose schools that are considered superior, which can create competent students in the future. One way to improve the quality of education is by implementing Total Quality Management so that schools can provide satisfying services that exceed the needs of consumers. For schools especially those who want to go to international standard schools, the use of Total Quality Management is the best choice made to improve quality. This is because by using Total Quality Management, the school will have clear guidelines for the expected quality. Taking a model from the TK Dharma Loka 1 in Pekanbaru that has implemented Total Quality Management, the author tries to analyze it using descriptive qualitative methods to see the extent to which the role of Total Quality Management is to improve school quality. With this research expected, other schools are encouraged to implement Total Quality Management in their schools, so that the expected quality can be achieved and Pekanbaru in particular is ready to enter the era of the education industry in this global age.
