Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence about the influence of corporate governance, bonus plans, and firm size on earnings management. Corporate governance is measured using two variables (independent commissioners state by the composition of an independent board and audit committee state by the number of audit committee members), bonus plans are measured from awarding compensation bonus by using a dummy, and firm size measured value of the final number of shares outstanding years. Earnings management measured by discretionary accruals using the Modified Jones Model. The population in this study were three companies engaged in the cement industry are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2007-2010. The research data obtained from the financial statements and annual reports of cement manufacturing firms in the period 2007-2010. Based on purposive sampling method, a sample of three companies by the number of observation data as much as 12 data derived from the company’s total multiplied by the sample period from 2007 to 2010. The hypothesis in this study were tested using multiple regression analysis. The analysis showed that the variables that have a significant influence on earnings management is variable of the audit committee, the bonus plan and firm size.

Abstract

This research aims on knowing the effect of giving Entrepreneurship courses in raising students’ interest to be entrepreneurs, by comparing between students’, who have already taken entrepreneurship course, interest and students’, who haven’t taken entrepreneurship course yet, interest using double regression test. We took 30 samples each from 2nd semester student, 4th semester student and 6th semester student. The result that we found is that there is effect of giving Entrepreneurship course in students’ interest to be entrepreneur, however it is low since each group’s result got Adjusted R2 less than 0.2. For 2nd semester student, even though they haven’t received Entrepreneurship course until they reach later year, they had ever received the subject when they were in high school. As for 4th semester student, they tend to like jobs which can give them regularly stable income guarantee (becoming employees). From this result, we can get information that the teaching method for Entrepreneurship course has to be accompanied by direct practice on the field so that the student can get clearer explanation about how to start a business (do entrepreneurship).

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study about smartphone’s purchase decision at new class costumer at Semarang city. The three independent variables that influence purchase decision are Word of Mouth (WOM), customer value and product quality. Data processing method in this study used a multivariate regression with 75 respondens.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the infuence of variable of product quality, price, service quality, emotional factor, cost and ease towards simultaneously and partially influenced the customer satisfaction of customer at Toko Kosmetik Candra. The population in this research was all customers of Toko Kosmetik Candra and the samples were 100 customers with the technique sampling was convenience sampling method. The analysis tool used was multiple linear regression. The results of simultaneous analysis (F test) indicated that the variables of product quality (X1), price (X2), service quality (X3), emotional factor (X4), cost and ease towards (X5) had significant influence to customer satisfaction at Toko Kosmetik Candra with significance rate 0,000. Meanwhile, the partial analysis (t-test) showed that the variable of product quality (X1) had significant influence to customer satisfaction, price (X2) had significant influence to customer satisfaction, service quality (X3) had significant influence to customer satisfaction, emotional factor (X4) had significant influence to customer satisfaction, cost and ease towards (X5) had significant influence to customer satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Earnings, Book Value of Equity and Operational Cah Flow on Stock Price. Sample of this research consist 64 of manufacturing firms which is listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2008 until 2010. Data used in this research are financial statement and closing stock price publication of financial statement date which is obtain from PRPM in Indonesian Stock Exchange, Capital Market Directory (CMDI) andIndonesian Stock Exchange website (www.co.idx.id). The statistic method used to test on the research hypothesis ismultiple regression. To analyzed the data using software SPSS ver. 15.0. The result of these study show that: (1) variable earnings had an influence and positive value relevance to stock price in partial; (2) variable book value of equity had an influence and positive value relevance to stock price in partial; (3) in partial operation cash flows had no significant influence but had a positive relevance value to stock price.

Abstract

Word of mouth (WOM) intentions plays an important role in influencing attitudes and behavior. The use of WOM in marketing strategies are increasing with the development of internet technology was allowing people to spread on to others. Consumers are more willing to do WOM if well-regarded corporate reputation, they are satisfied with their relationship with the company and they feel proximity with company.

Abstract

A company will not be separated from the failure when the company deliver services. Companies that have high quality standards will not be easy though to avoid failure. This failure will result in dissatisfaction and complaint behavior, so companies have to implement service recovery. Consumers who submit complaints and feel recovery services will assess whether they are being treated fairly or not. Justice can be viewed from three dimensions, namely distributive justice, procedural justice and interactional justice. If consumers are treated fairly, then this will have an effect on positive emotions and post-recovery satisfaction. This customer emotions will affect the post-recovery satisfaction.
