Abstract

Storage is an activity of storing and maintaining by placing a pharmaceutical supply received at a place deemed safe from theft as well as physical disturbance that may damage the quality of the drug. This study aims to see the description of drug storage management in pharmacy warehouse of Bangkinang Public Hospital in accordance with Management Guidance of Pharmaceutical Supplies in Hospital from Directorate General of Pharmaceutical Development and Health Equipment of Ministry of Health RI In cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency in 2010. This research is an observational research which is descriptive and data collection is done cross sectional by filling the checklist sheet. The results obtained indicate that the requirements of the warehouse and recording of the stock have been in accordance with the requirements while the storage / preparation of the drug has not been eligible. The requirements of the medicine warehouse with the percentage of 90.91% (very good), the requirement of storage / preparation of drugs with the percentage of 55.56% (good enough) and the requirements of drug stock listing system with the percentage of 87.5% (very good).

Abstract

Abstract - The test of antifungal actifity of ethanol extract of soursop leaf (Annona muricata L.) to Triciohyton rubrum, Tricophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum canis and Malassezia furfur. This study aims to prove the inhibition from ethanol extract of soursoup leaf (Annona muricata L.) to the growth of fungi causing skin diseases. The antifungal activity test of soursop leaf extract using diffusion method, with concentration of 40%, 50%, 60%, positive control of ketoconazole and negatif control of ethanol distillate. The result showed the average inhibitory zone diameter of Tricophyton rubrum(7,06 mm, 8,56 mm, and 11,13 mm), Tricophyton mentagrophytes (7,26 mm, 8,76 mm and 11 mm), Epidermophyton floccosum (16 mm, 8,6 mm and 11,33 mm), Microsporum canis (7,56 mm, 8,63 mm, and 12,16 mm) and Malassezia furfur(8,36 mm, 9,2 mm and 12,33 mm). It can be concluded that soursop leaf extract (Annona muricata L.) has antifungal activity against Triciohyton rubrum, Tricophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum canis and Malassezia furfur. The largest antifungal activity is Malassezia furfur at a concentration of 60% with a diameter of 12,33 mm inhibition. Keywords : Soursop Leaf Extracts Ethanol, Anti-fungal, Skin Diseases.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on the determination of lead metal content (Pb) in refill drinking water around the campus of the Riau Pharmaceutical Sciences College (STIFAR) by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (SSA) with the aim to determine the metal content of lead (Pb) in refill drinking water in around the campus of the Riau Pharmaceutical Sciences College (STIFAR). The results showed that Pb metal content in the four samples of refill drinking water ranged from 0.11 to 0.19 mg / L. Based on the results of the study, lead metal (Pb) from the four samples of refill drinking water passed the maximum level and did not meet the requirements of drinking water quality according to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 492 / MENKES / PER / IV / 2010 which is not more than 0.01 mg / L.

Abstract

Cancer is the 2nd deadliest disease in the world after heart disease. Research to assess the election of anti nausea and anti -vomiting in cancer patients treated with antineoplastic and see the relationship between the emetogenic level of antineoplastic regimen on the incidence of nausea and vomiting experienced by patients hospitalized in the surgical ward. The study was observational descriptive cross-sectional design. Subject are all populations in accordance with the inclusion criteria, hospitalized cancer patients who use antinausea and anti-vomiting before administration of antineoplastic, interview and fill out the questionnaire in <24 hours after administration of antineoplastic to assess the degree of nausea/vomiting experienced. Intravenous ondansetron and dexamethasone are used by 31 patients and 2 people using just ondansetron. The use of HEC and MEC is a combination of ondansetron, dexamethasone, and aprepitant, while the use of LEC is just ondansetron. It can be concluded election of antinausea and anti-vomiting suited for nausea and vomiting due to the use of antineoplastic, but not in accordance with the emetogenic level of antineoplastic. Keyword : antinausea; antivomiting; antineoplastik; level emetogenic; cancer

Abstract

A study on the preparation and characterization of microcrystalline cellulose from waste of sawdust has been carried out. A portion of alpha-cellulose was yielded from multi stage pulping proces of 500 grams of sawdust and it was hydrolized using hydrochloric acid to affort microcrystalline cellulose. 72 grams of microcrystalline cellulose 14,4 % rendement was obtained as white-fine powder, odorless and tasteless. Identification test using iodinated zinc chloride solution has produced blue violet solution and its infrared spectrum gave same wavenumber as standard Avicel®. pH value this microcrystalline cellulose was 5,03 and range of its melting and boiling points were 1o. Its infrared spectrum showed the presence of OH group at 3405,47 cm-1. Based on its characterization and analysis data, this microcrystalline cellulose was an agreement with the pharmacopeia requirement. Furthermore, it’s physical and chemical properties were same as used standard Avicel®. Keywords : alpha-cellulose, avicel, infrared, microcrystalline

Abstract

The way to optimize antibiotic therapy is to immediately replace intravenous therapy to oral (switch therapy). Intravenous antibiotic therapy must be switched to an oral preparation or stopped after 48-72 hours of injection, normal body temperature and normal white blood cell count. The purpose of this study is to evaluate antibiotic selection and timeliness for switch therapy. The sampling technique all patients hospitalized with appendicitis at surgical department Dr. M. Djamil Padang, from September until November 2013 received switch therapy, using a prospective observation study design with descriptive analysis. Results showed that 36 patients entered the inclusion criteria. All use ceftriaxone intravenous, for oral antibiotics cefixime 25 patients, ciprofloxacin 11 patients. There were 8 patients on time when switching intravenous antibiotic therapy to oral. Switch therapy antibiotic almost on the third day of treatment 67%. The 36 patients studied had returned in improved clinical improvement and doctor’s approval.

Abstract

One of the citrus crops in Indonesia is tangerine (Citrus reticulata). The part that is used as vitamins are citrus fruits. The skin is not used by the community, because it is often found as environmental waste. Orange peel can actually be used as a source of medicinal materials, because it can be used as an antioxidant. This study will make the cream using a base cera alba intended to get cream with good physical preparations. This research is a type of experimental research. Extraction method used is maseration method with 70% ethanol solvent. Making creams made in 3 formulas are F1, F2 and F3. The bases used are cera alba with concentration of 3 formula consecutively as much as 2.5g, 5g, and 10g. The physical properties of the cream conducted to determine the physical properties of good cream include organoleptic test, pH test, homogeneity test, and sticky power test. The results of the test of physical properties of cream tangerine peel extract made in cream dosage from using cera alba base this is stable and has physical characteristic test according to requirement on organoleptic test, pH test, and sticky test. Then on the physical test of spreading power and homogeneity, cream of tangerine peel extract (Citrus reticulate) with cera alba base 2.5 – 10g did not has the requirement of goog cream. Keyword: Formulation, cream preparation, tangerine peel (Citrus reticulata), alba case base, physical properties test.
