Abstract

There are several factors that affect the study period of students at the International University of Batam (UIB) such as GPA, Parents Earnings, School Origin, and others. Therefore, it is necessary to do research to find out the factors that significantly affect the study period of students. The method used in this survival analysis is the cox proportional hazard regression parametric model that can explain the influence of independent factors in an event. From the process of survival analysis with regression cox proportional hazard parametric model obtained a significant factorinfluencing the study period of students of Faculty of Engineering, International University of Batam who entered in the year 2013 is GPA with model and obtained the highest probablities of students who graduated in the 8th semester with GPA> 3,723 is 0,73; and the highest probabilities of students who graduate more than 8 semesters with GPA> 3,723 has a probablity 0,916.

Abstract

In an effort to increase the growth an area, the government tried to advance sectors that can grow the economy in an area, one of them is gross regional domestic product (GDRP) data. A region that has an average areas with low GRDP but in the region there are areas that have very high GRDP can cause imbalance in the region. Imbalance regions is a common aspect in economic activity in a region, that is Cilacap regency. One model that is representative enough to measure the degree of imbalance of development among regions is Index Williamson (IW) and there are several methods to provide solutions in solving the problem of imbalance in Cilacap regency, among others Dynamic K-Means Clustering and Location Quotient (LQ). In this research, the results of the analysis showed IW Cilacap regency in 2014, there is imbalance but low imbalance, there is still imbalance between district due to high differences in income and sector productivity differences are striking every district in Cilacap regency. Dynamic K-Means Cluster analysis results shows the results of iteration 3 times and the number of clusters by 2 namely Cluster 1 (C1) and Cluster 2 (C2). Characteristics of C1 members advance in Sek_2, Sek_3, Sek_4, Sek_5, Sek_6, Sek_7, Sek_8, and Sek_9 while C2 members advance in Sek_1. C1 the number of members as many as 6 districts and C2 the number of members as many as 18 districts. And the result of LQ analysis shows that agriculture sector of Cilacap regency is the best potential to be developed.

Abstract

Value at Risk (VaR) can be simply defined as an estimate of the maximum potential loss under the normal market conditions at a specific time period and with the specific confidence level. For the calculation can be done by various methods including VaR parametric estimates. VaR is calculated by simulating the properties of the risk factors and the value of assets by raising the sequence of random asset prices at the T time, given the value of asset prices sample with time t where T> t.

Abstract

Model that describes the epidemic spread of disease can spread in this area, one of which can be formed in the mathematical model of endemic SIR (susceptible, infected, and recovery). Based on the model, we can analysis existence and uniqueness, it shows that the system has solution and unique. Furthermore SIR indicated that the model has a positive solution. The final results obtained from this study is SIR model of having a uniqueand solution, as well as solutions that model is positive.

Abstract

This paper aims at describing the natures of Hyponormal operator to secure the existence of Weyl’s theorem. The discussion on Weyl’s theorem requires definitions of compact, Fredhlom, and Weyl’s operator. In addition, samples and natures of compact and Fredhlom operator in Hilbert space will also be observed.
