Journal of English for Academic and Specific Purposes (JEASP) a specialized journal of English language teaching (ELT) that meticulously tailors English language teaching-learning instructions to meet the precise needs of learners within various academic and professional fields. At its core, this journal focuses on English for Academic Purposes (EAP), emphasizing the enhancement of essential language skills—listening, reading, speaking, and writing—alongside the critical components of grammar and vocabulary. This targeted approach necessitates the development of specialized teaching language materials, strategies, and assessment that address the unique linguistic demands of each discipline. The scope of this journal (JEASP) is vast and diverse, encompassing English for Education, which equips educators and students with the language proficiency required for academic success; English for Laws, covering the specialized terminologies of family law, economic law, criminal law, and constitutional law; and English for Science and Technology, focusing on the linguistic needs of natural sciences and engineering. Additionally, this journal extends to English for Economics, addressing the specific language of finance, banking, and business; English for Humanities, which enhances communication in social and cultural studies, languages, and media; and English for Medicine and Health Community Services, supporting the complex language requirements of medicine, pharmacy, nursing, midwifery, and health analyses. Abstract

The narrative text is an interesting type of text because it contains a lot of knowledge for writers or readers. Narrative text types are divided into 4. They are fairy tales; folk tales; fables; and legends. Most students like stories that are accompanied by pictures and narrative texts used. This research aims to introduce students to technology-based media as narrative text media. The learning process application supports narrative text to make it more accessible and more attractive to students by using the Padlet Application. The researcher used a qualitative method, and the data source was students in grade 11 IPA 1 at SMAN 1 Wringinanom. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documents. Data analysis techniques using thematic analysis. This research indicates that students prefer to write narrative texts using the Padlet Application rather than the conventional method. The Padlet Application can make time more efficient, easy, interesting, and fun. This is demonstrated through interviews, observations, and documents conducted by the researcher.

Abstract

This study intended to show the effect of TikTok videos on students’ pronunciation skills . A quasi-experimental study design was used in this study. Students from MAN 2 Probolinggo participated in this study, 20 students consist as an experimental class and consist of 20 students as a control class. The results of this study showed a significant difference between students using TikTok videos as media learning and those using traditional strategies. Post-test results revealed that there was a significant effect of post-treatment on experimental class. Independent test results show that TikTok videos have a significant impact on students' pronunciation skills. However, the mean pretest scores of the experimental class are higher than  the control class. It can be concluded that TikTok videos have a positive effect on students' pronunciation ability and are accepted as an effective learning medium to improve students' pronunciation ability.

Abstract

English is one of the foreign languages taught in Indonesia. It has separated curriculum with other subject which are taught in primary, secondary, and high schools by using English textbooks. However, English textbooks are limited to be developed in Kindergarten area. Therefore, this research is conducted and aimed to develop adequate English textbooks based on Kindergarten syllabus which are annual and semester programs by the school. The researcher took the group A and B learners of Kindergarten students at TK Negeri Pembina 1 Malang year 2021/2022. The researcher involved 70 students as the participants. Research and Development (RD) was conducted in this research with the ADDIE model. The instruments of the research were observation, expert validation checklist, interviews, and field notes. The data analysis was obtained from the expert validation checklist also the transcription of the result from the interview with both teachers and students. Findings indicate that “Reverb English” textbooks are feasible and effective during the English teaching-learning process in the classroom for kindergarten students. It can help them to learn faster by visualizing the pictures and words in the book.

Abstract

Lack of students in learning to write is the lack of activity and motivation of students so that learning to write becomes a problem. The application of the discovery learning model is very appropriate to solve this problem. Learning with discovery learning model with news item text material in the first cycle there were 18 students (72%) who completed the increase in the second cycle to 23 students (92%).

Abstract

Learning English through literature is one of the various ways to improve our English since it includes many aspects, speaking and listening that are used in daily interaction, and reading skills that cannot be separated from literacy. Various way of teaching method and strategies has been developed in the past few years. Based on the previous explanation, the researchers want to find out the kinds of literature (drama, short stories, novels, song) being taught in the class, and what method is used by the teacher. the school teaching program has already used some kinds of literature in teaching and learning activities. Since there are some branches in literature, the teacher mentioned that the one used are drama, song, and narrative text (poems, short stories, novels). The aim of using this strategy is to strengthen the relationship between two different aspects of educational pioneers so both of them could support and embrace their differences.
