Abstract

This study is based on a conversation that took place during an industrial vist by Aceh Polytechnic D3 Mechatronics students at PT Agro Sinergi Nusantara (ASN), where the company does not yet have a system in place to monitor gas, steam, and fire pressure in order to reduce hazardous circumstances in the factory. A fire detection system is needed to prevent fires because palm oil factories often have processes that involve flammable materials and have the potential to cause fires. The steam pressure in the boiler of the Steam Power Plant (PLTU) system at PT ASN needs to be monitored to prevent explosions. The PLTU combustion system that utilizes palm oil pulp and empty bunches produces carbon emissions that are harmful to health. Information on carbon gas levels also needs to be known to ensure whether the surrounding conditions are dangerous. The presence of fire, gas and steam pressure needs to be monitored via a smartphone connected to the Internet network. Thus, workers do not have to be close to the machine area because monitoring is sufficient on a smartphone. The research method is a case study at PT ASN, surveys and interviews, literature studies, experiments and simulations on prototypes and data collection in the laboratory. The data used for measurement are fire and gas from matches and air pressure from the compressor. The results obtained, this prototype is able to detect fire, gas and vapor pressure. When fire is detected, pressure and gas that exceed the setting limit will trigger the alarm to activate. The presence of fire and gas and vapor pressure data can be monitored on a smartphone with a delay of 17 seconds. The average accuracy of pressure detection with arduino is 96.20% and smartphone 97.07%.

Abstract

Three Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT) is a technique used in designing a cancer treatment (treatment planning system) using radiation emitted through a gantry with direction, angle, number of fields, and radiation energy according to needs. Determination of direction, angle, number of fields, and radiation energy precisely aims to provide effectiveness in cancer treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficient use of multiple gantry angles in cervical cancer using a LINAC machine with 3D-CRT technique. Data processing in this study was carried out using quantitative analysis techniques, namely descriptive statistics. This analysis technique uses secondary data obtained from the results of the description that has been carried out by doctors at the Radiotherapy Installation. Data processing was carried out by carrying out a treatment planning system on 7 patients with each patient receiving planning using 4 gantry angles and 6 gantry angles. These results are visualized in the form of tables and graphs of absorbed doses received by patients. Based on this study, it can be concluded that using the 3D-CRT technique in cases of cervical cancer, using 4 gantry angles is more efficient than using 6 gantry angles.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) method in reducing setup time on a 350T capacity molding machine at PT HMG. The data collection results showed that the frequency of mold changes reached 70 times a month, with the average time required for mold changes before the implementation of SMED 173 minutes. After the implementation of SMED, the mold change time was successfully reduced to 64 minutes, reflecting a decrease of 63%. The implementation of SMED was carried out through several stages, including converting internal activities to external ones, which aimed to reduce machine downtime. Optimization of the remaining activities was also carried out, such as reducing the temperature drop time on the barrel and hot runner, which previously took 15 minutes, now only 5 minutes. The final results showed that machine downtime cost savings reached Rp11,200,000 per month after the implementation of SMED, with total downtime costs decreasing from Rp30,274,999 to Rp19,074,999 per month. This study proves that implementing the SMED method can significantly improve time efficiency, reduce production costs, and create more efficient operational standards. The findings provide a solid basis for further development in industry manufacturing practices.

Abstract

TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol) communication protocols are two main protocols used to send data over a computer network. Although both are often used in various network applications, they have different characteristics in terms of reliability, speed, and efficiency. This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of the performance between TCP and UDP protocols in sending text messages using a chat application. This study was conducted by measuring several main parameters such as message delivery time, reliability level, latency, and throughput. In the TCP protocol, which is connection-oriented, the test results show that text messages are sent with a high level of reliability due to the flow control mechanism, packet sequencing, and retransmission of lost packets. However, this causes higher latency than UDP. In contrast, the UDP protocol, which is connectionless, is able to send messages with lower latency and higher throughput, but does not guarantee message reliability, because there is no retransmission mechanism for lost or damaged packets. The results of this study indicate that the choice between TCP and UDP depends on the specific needs of the application. If the main priority is message delivery reliability, TCP is superior. However, if speed and efficiency are more important, such as in real-time chat applications, UDP can be a better choice. This research is expected to help application developers in choosing the right protocol based on the performance needs of the application used.

Abstract

Chicken health is very important for the sustainability of the livestock business, considering that chicken meat is a popular and affordable commodity in Indonesia. However, many farmers still face difficulties in accurately diagnosing chicken diseases, especially with limited time and the number of experts in the field. Therefore, a system is needed that can help farmers diagnose diseases more efficiently. To overcome this problem, a web-based expert system was developed that uses the Certainty Factor method to diagnose chicken diseases. This system can be accessed online, allowing farmers to get a diagnosis and treatment advice quickly and easily, without relying on the presence of experts. With this system, it is expected to improve the accuracy of the diagnosis, reduce losses due to chicken diseases, and make it easier for farmers to maintain the health of their livestock. The results of this study indicate that the Certainty Factor method can be used well in detecting diseases in chickens. This is proven by the system's ability to predict chicken diseases according to the symptoms displayed, which have been structured based on predetermined rules

Abstract

The University of Borneo Tarakan, like many Indonesian universities, is committed to continuous quality improvement in education services. A crucial aspect of this improvement is gathering and analyzing student feedback to enhance lecturer performance. This research focuses on analyzing student comments using sentiment analysis, a technique that categorizes text into positive, negative, and neutral sentiments. To achieve this, two machine learning algorithms were employed: Decision Trees and Support Vector Machines (SVM). The research involved two approaches: Lexicon-Based Sentiment Analysis and TF-IDF word weighting. The Lexicon-Based approach compared the automated sentiment classification with manual human categorization to assess accuracy. The TF-IDF method, on the other hand, aimed to improve classification accuracy by assigning weights to words based on their frequency and importance. The experimental results demonstrated that Decision Trees outperformed SVM in terms of classification accuracy, achieving 95.454546% compared to 94.805194%. This finding suggests that Decision Trees is a more effective technique for sentiment analysis of student comments in this specific

Abstract

Human body anatomy is a science that studies the structure of the human body. The anatomy of the human body is composed of cells, tissues, organs and organ systems. Organ systems are the parts that make up the human body. This system consists of various types of organs, which have special structures and functions. Each organ system depends on each other, both directly and indirectly. So far, students have studied body anatomy using books as reference material, making it difficult to explore real objects. Therefore, to make it easier for students to understand the complex anatomy of the body, especially the internal organs of the human body, an Android-based Augmented Reality Book application was developed as a learning media tool. This application makes it easier for students to understand the shape and space of human anatomy using a smartphone. Making this application uses Unity as an application editor, Blender is used to create three-dimensional models and Vuforia as image tracker software
