Abstract

In a descriptive, the aim of this study was to find out activeness, learning motivation and science result. In a correlative, this study to find out the correlation between activeness and learning motivation on science result study of the 7th-grade student secondary school of subdistrict Pandak in academic year 2015/2016. The study samples were taken by proportional random sampling technique. The data of activeness and learning motivation were collected by using question and data of natural science achievement acquired by using multiple choice test. Data analyzed by using correlation test. The result of this research showed that the trend of activeness was in the very high category, learning motivation was in the medium category, meanwhile, achievement in natural science was in the high category. In a correlative, there is a correlation that positive and very significant between activeness and learning motivation on science result study of 7th-grade student secondary school of subdistrict Pandak in academic year 2015/2016.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve students motivation and science learning outcomes VIIC grade students through cooperative learning model Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) in the SMP Taman Dewasa Ibu Pawiyatan Yogyakarta 2013/2014 school year. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which is done collaboratively. The subjects in this study were junior high school students of class VIIC SMP Taman Dewasa Ibu Pawiyatan Yogyakarta totaling 29 students. The object of this research is to use the model of learning with Team Assisted Individualization (TAI), motivation, and student learning outcomes. Data collection techniques in this study were done by observation, interviews, documentation, and testing. The results showed that after application of the model Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) in the junior class VIIC SMP Taman Dewasa Ibu  Pawiyatan Yogyakarta, motivation and learning outcomes IPA increased. This is shown by an increase in the average yield percentage of observations of students motivation for each cycle, the average indicator of motivation in the first cycle is 85.31% and increased 6.19% to 91.50% in the second cycle. The average results of students in science learning at pre-action 46.72 to 51.37 in the first cycle and became 77.24 in the second cycle. Many students who achieve KKM also increased. In the first cycle, there are seven students who achieve KKM KKM and attainment percentage of 24%, while in the second cycle can be increased to 23 and the percentage of students achieving 79% KKM.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to improve students’ activity and science learning outcome at VII B grade students through a learning model Guided Note Taking in SMP N 11 Yogyakarta in academic year 2013/2014. This study belongs to Classroom Action Research (CAR). Observation, test, interview, and documentation are used to gather the data in this study. The results of the study show that after implementing the Guided Note Taking model at VII B class in SMP N 11 Yogyakarta, students’ activity and learning outcome increase. It is shown by the increase of students’ percentage in observation sheets in each cycle. In the first cycle, the average of the activity indicator increased 13% from 73% to 86% in the second cycle. The science-learning outcome increased from 54,38 before the treatment, 66,86 in the first cycle, and became 80,78 in the second cycle. The number of students who passed the passing grade before the treatment was only 1 student or 2,94%. In cycle I, there was 19 students or 55,88% who passed the KKM, and there were 27 students or 79,41% in the cycle II.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to improve the activity and the results of science learning at VII grade students by using the Learning Starts with a Question model in SMP N 11 Yogyakarta in the academic year 2013/2014. It is obtained there are several problems that students of VII grade SMP N 11 Yogyakarta face. This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data was collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and test. The results showed that after using model ‘Learning Starts with a Question’ in class VII A of SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta, students’ activity and learning outcome increased. This is indicated by an improvement in the average percentage of student learning activity observation sheet for each cycle, the average of the activity indicator in the first cycle is 74% and it increased 8% to 82% in the second cycle. The average of science learning outcomes for students before the treatment is 53.75, it becomes 65.71 in the first cycle and 78.28 on the second cycle. Most students pass the passing grade (KKM). In the first cycle, there are 16 students who achieve the score above the passing grade (KKM) with the percentage of 45.71%, while on the second cycle it increased to 27 of students or 77.14%.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to find out:  (1) the result of student’s achievement in science by using process skill approach. (2) To determine the differences in student’s achievement in science by using process skill approach and expository. The research used the quasi-experimental method. The data collection technique, the writer used documentation to know the students’ initial competency and used test technique to get data on the result of studying additives and addictives of science subject. The data analysis technique in this study used t-test. Descriptively, the result of this study showed that the inclination of learning natural science result at eight grade student in SMP Negeri 10 Yogyakarta in academic year 2013/2014 which through with skill process include in exellent/very high category, whereas the calss which learning by expository approach includes in good/high category. The calculation result of t-test from contril class and experiment gained tcount > ttable was 2,094 > 2,000 and the probality values (p) ≤ 0,05 at the 5% significance level was 0.040 ≤ 0.05, therefore comparatively there were significant diferences between the learning through process skill and expository approach, this means that there are the influences in teaching to the result through process skill to science subject achievment at eigth students on odd semester in SMP Negeri 10 Yogyakarta academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

The research descriptively aimed to know the result of learning natural science and students activity at eight grade of SMP Negeri 10 Yogyakarta school in academic year 2014/2015 which learned using problem-based learning and direct instruction. Comparatively to determine the differences of learning science result between problem-based learning and direct instruction in terms of students activeness. The population of this research was 171 students. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. The data collected by documentation, a test of learning science and observation sheet. The hypothesis analysis technique used ANCOVA. Descriptively, the natural science result which learned by problem-based learning is in a very high category and direct instruction included in the high category. The students’ activity which used problem-based learning is in high category and direct instruction included in the medium category. The ANCOVA test gained Fcount = 7,405. Therefore the result of Fcount  > Ftable comparatively there were significant differences of science learning result at grade VIII students in SMP Negeri 10 Yogyakarta between through problem-based learning and direct instruction that is seen from the student's activity.

Abstract

This research aims to implement small group work learning model to improve students’ interest and achievement in learning Science at the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Banguntapan Bantul in the academic year 2013/2014.This research belongs to collaborative Classroom Action Research. The data collecting techniques were done by doing observation, giving questionnaire and test, and making documentation.The results of this research show that the students’ interest in learning Science was improved after small group work learning model had been applied. The percentage of the students’ interest gained from the pre-test was 53,36%, while in cycle I, it was 63,46%, and in cycle II, it was 76,15%. The students’ marks also rose from the mean of their early competence which was 58,65 to 67,69 in cycle I and 76,15 in cycle II. Therefore, it can be said that small group work learning model could improve students’ interest and achievement in learning Science to the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Banguntapan Bantul.
