Abstract

Not only operation problem in the electric system but also expansion problem of capacity supply to meet demand in the future that must be handled. This expansion must guarantee adequacy condition of supply in order to avoid lack of supply although there is/are one/more unit black out.  Adequacy (of power) of an electric system is determined by loss of load probability (LOLP) indexes. This indexes has been definite, i.e. national electric company, PT. PLN, use indexes LOLP 1 day/year. This paper will study adequacy supply in the future, until 2016,  in the Jawa-Madura-Bali (JAMALI) system based on LOLP indexes by PT. PLN. The result of study will be compared with the planning supply of PT. PLN that was reported in RUPTL (global planning of supply) report-book for 2006-2016. The result indicated that the planning supply of PT. PLN until 2016 is 42431 MW or has LOLP tree digit before coma. In this study, the calculation based on LOLP 1 day/year result the added supply as much as 38086 MW until 2016.Key words: Capacity supply, Adequacy and Loss of load probability indexes.

Abstract

In modern world, the need for capacity  data storage and  electronic data communications channel is important. Capacity storage media and channel communication in electronic data that we use at this time is not unlimited and it is quite expensive.Therefore, we need a method to use electronic data storage and communications resource optimally and efficiently. One effort that can do at this time is to perform data compression. Data will be compressed before store or before send, so that storage capacity of the data after compression is smaller than before and economize time to send data after compression. There are many kind of method which used in data compression.This research will study about the theory of probability, calculate distribution probability of character order two of text in indonesian language, coding based on  Huffman theory, and design software  for data compression.Keywords: sandi, kompresi, penyandian, huffman, lossy, lossles

Abstract

DC chopper or DC to DC converter is a power electronics circuit which convert DC voltage to desired variable DC voltage. This paper presents the making of DCChopper in Buck converter type which is used as separated DC power supply for one phase multilevel inverter in three level. This Buck converter produce variable voltage which can be adjusted by duty cycle control in order to meet one phase multilevel inverter need. Duty cycle is obtained by using pulse width modulation technique with constant  frequency range 2 kHz. This separated DC power supply is made from three Buck converter which is consist of three MOSFET as switching components. Triggering signal for MOSFET is produced and controlled by microcontroller AT89S51. This system is made in open loop with one phase multilevel inverter as the load. As a result, this DC chopper is able to supply multilevel inverter with duty cycle varitation for the first and third stage Buck converter is 20%  - 65%, and 50% - 95% for the seccond stage Buck converter.Key words:  buck converter, duty cycle, multi-level inverter, PWM, mikrokontroller

Abstract

Energy is one part of the important in everyday life. The energy consumption especially electrics energy have to pay attention requirement and economics level.  So that electrics energy used as according to requirement. Thereby consumption  energy pay attention energy efficiency. This research is to evaluate usage consumption energy of Diponegoro University Tembalang Campus ( Faculty MIPA and FPIK, FKM, and FPsychology). This Benefit Research is to give alternative  solution subscribe PLN electrics or merger. Result of Research yielded is forth of the faculty of customer based on energy capacities attached in the reality still not yet as according to usage. Given by solution is Customer FMIPA can be achieved by down grading its tarrif-class ( from 345 KVA to 197 KVA)  and FPIK, FKM and F Psychology (240 KVA to 131 KVA).  Other Alternative is Merger of  FPIK, FKM And F Psychology with F MIPA.Keywords: Energy, Consumption, Efficiency, Capacity

Abstract

In this paper the research about the making of nonstationary model mathematically of the channel communication influenced by rain condition is explained. The parameter of the model include the fading caused by polarization change of  30 GHz  milimeter-wave from LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution Service). Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the most cancer disease among women until now. This cancer was formed by abnormal cells in breast tissue. For early breast cancer detection the mammography is used by the radiologyst. In mammography the breast tissue is scanned by Xrays then a resulting  image called mammogram produce. The radiologyst manually examine the mammogram identifying which area of scanned breast tissue that could have cancer suspect. In medical term the cancer appear as a mass or microcalcification. Because of the quality of mammograms and small of cancer area in early stadium the radiologist sometime have the problem to decide if there is a cancer perform as a mass or microcalcification. According to mammograms that can be viewed as texture image, the image processing especially   texture analysis computerizely helped the radiologist to classify the texturize cancer area. In this research one of  the texture analysis methods named run length method use to get the features. With this features, k-NN (k-Nearest Neighbour) classifier then decide whether the suspect area is cancer according to the mass or microcalcification appeareance or just normal tissue. As the result there is 72% correct identification among the mammograms data that have been analyzed texturizely with run length method.

Abstract

Growth in Digital signal processing technology gives positives influences in human life. One of the branch of science that gives significant influence is digital speech processing. It can be expand into some applications that make human life easier. Digital speech processing is appropriate to speech recognition.Speech recognition is used to arrange the movement of remote control car. The remote control car will move according to our speech.  This final project is closely related with speech recognition.  The LPC (Linear Predictive Coding) method will extract the speech signal features and HMM (Hidden Markov Model) to modelling the speech signal are used. It is done by comparing model from extracting  feature that is available in HMM modelling. Models will be used in the speech recognition process, if the models have highest level of conformity.The experiment has been done in two conditions, i.e ideal condition in room wih low noise level and unideal condition in room with noise. Result of the experiment from the whole sistem performace at ideal condition is 97,71% for people that have been inputed in the database, and 95,42% for people which have not been inputed in the database. Result of the experiment of database say it regulary is 97,14%. Result of the experiment of database at unideal condition is 54,28% for inputing word at noisy area, result of the experiment of database for inputing word at high frequency from siren voice is 98,57% and result of the experiment of inputing similar word with database is 97,6%Keywords: speech recognition, LPC, HMM

Abstract

Polimer materials now have been broadly used for high voltage isolation device. After long operation the polimer isolation can have degradation or decreasing in isolation quality until it became improper isolation. One main caused about this degradation is the deformity for instance the pointed conductor between the conductor to isolation interface that could make the partial discharge. Therefore is so important to have the information about the partial discharge characteristics of  isolation material at operational condition. In this paper the research about the influences of voltage and application time of voltage to partial discharge characteristics was explained . This research used the epoxy resin for isolation and needle-plane electrode measurement method  with 50 Hz ac voltage to investigate the partial discharge parameters such as the number of positive and negative charge and the maximum charge of positive and negative.Keywords:  partial discharge,  resin epoksi,  elektroda jarum-bidang.

Abstract

Bearing is an important component of motor and generator, bearing is used as a buffer component of shaft rotor that has function to decrease the friction between shaft rotor and housing. The damaging on a bearing can make an increasing of power consumption and a big friction that can make many vibrations and uproar in the motor or generator.Based on SKF’s research, 16% of the bearing’s initial damage is caused by the wrong assembling method. For example the installation of the bearing in the shaft is forcefully, by hits or burns them use the asetelin weld. The heating of bearing uses assetelin, isen’t good. Because the heat is not be stread evenly. So in order to get  heating is average in bearing, we use induction heat.This making final assignment is to make a bearing heater which use induction method with  digital PI control induction method. With Microcontroller ATmega 8535 as a digital code’s processor and as their controller. This instrument can raise the increasing linear temperature and the average heat. Beside that, the temperature of the heated bearing also can be kept on interval 80° - 90°C. With this instrument, the diameter of the heated bearing can expand, the heating is average and the bearing temperature can be controlled, so the bearing can be installed in the shaft rotor easily.Key Words: Bearing heater, PI control,  Microcontroller ATmega 8535

Abstract

TCP Westwood+ is  evolution of TCP Westood. TCP Westwood+ representing one of TCP proposed for the modification of existing TCP now. Specially TCP Westwood+, TCP Westwood+ sender keeps an end to end bandwidth estimation to adjust the smart transmission rate after detection a packet loss. In this way , TCP Westwood+ can improve; repair the standard TCP (Newreno, SACK) in a lossy environment. This paper comment the mechanism congestion base control TCP Westwood+, testing performance of TCP Westwood+, enhance TCP Westwood+ by modification increase phase from additive mechanism to multiplicative mechanism, and compare with TCP Westwood+ standard.Keywords: TCP Westwood+, end to end bandwidth  estimation, estimation filter, additive mechanism,  multiplicative mechanism
