Jurnal Ilmu Ilmu Agribisnis: Journal of Agribusiness Science is published by the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, in collaboration with PERHEPI, the Indonesian Agricultural Economist Association. The first printed Journal was published in 2013 and the online version started in May 2018 edition. The scopes include agribusiness, agricultural economics, agricultural development, rural sociology, agricultural extension, food security, and other subjects related to agriculture and society. This Journal is published four times a year, February, May, August, and November.

Abstract

Since the beginning of 2000’s, the modern markets, supermarkets and minimarkets, have been growing rapidly in Bandar Lampung.  They have been being the competitors for the traditional markets that sell agricultural commodities, such as egg.  The question is whether they are profitable and whether the egg retailers in the traditional markets can compete with the modern markets in Bandar Lampung.  This study tries to answer these questions by using the financial and the SWOT analyses.  All 44 egg retailers in the traditional markets, Bandar Lampung are the respondents in this study.  Based on the financial analysis the rate of return of the egg retail business is 8.74% per month.  The result of SWOT analysis showed that the egg retail trade businesses in traditional market at quadrant I.  This case showed that egg retail trade in traditional market were profitable and located on the growing areas. The top strategy utilized the long enough experience trading to build relationships with suppliers and that supply of fulfilled will continue available. Abstract

The purpose of this research were to determine the household consumer attitudes, purchasing patterns, and the dominant affecting factor of the instant seasoning purchase. This research was conducted in sub-district of Kemiling and Rajabasa of Bandar Lampung City. The number of 67 households was drawn by the method of group stages sampling.  The research data was analyzed by Fishbein and principal component analysis. The result showed that the pattern of instant seasoning purchases by consumers in Bandar Lampung as follows: the average purchase frequency of instant seasoning was twice per month, 3-4 sachet purchase amount, and the type of instant seasoning most preferred by consumers were racik tempe and fried rice. The most preferred and trusted attributes by consumers were the ease of obtaining the product, expired date information and the taste. Based on the score of attitude attributes on instant seasoning, the brand of Indofood and ease of obtaining the product got the highest score, followed by the attribute expiration information and the taste.  The dominant factor on influencing purchasing decisions of seasoning was formed by four main components (factors) based on the value of the loading factors.  The first component (information) consists of expiration information, others’ influences and composition of the product.  The second component (product) consists of the influence of taste, promotions and prices.  The third component (product suitability) consists of variables brand and conformity with the type of cuisine. The fourth component (ease of obtaining the product) consists of variable ease of obtaining the product. Key words: attitude, factor analysis, instant seasoning

Abstract

This research aims to know  the discipline level and performance of employees, the influence of individual characteristics on performance of employee through direct or indirect discipline, and the influence of discipline on performance of employee.  This research was conducted at PT Laju Perdana Indah site Komering South Sumatera, in Plantation Department specifically in Division 1st and 4th.  Data of this research was taken from January until February 2015 by a sensus methode that using 81 employees. Research data was analyzed by descriptive and verificative analysis.  The results showed that the discipline level of employees in Division 1st and 4thof PT Laju Perdana Indah was good enough and in average the employees performance had already met the expectations.  The period of work and ethnic had significantly direct influence on performance of employees, while employee’s age, education, and ethnic did not have influence on performance of employees.  The employee discipline was significantly influence on performance of employees. Abstract

The purpose of this research were to find out the total income of rice farmers’ household, the expenditure of farmers’ household, and the factors that influence the expenditure of rice farmers’ household. The research was conducted in Sukajawa village, Bumiratu Nuban subdistrict, Central Lampung regency. The number of respondent was 47 rice farmers. This study found that the total income of rice farmers in Sukajawa was Rp29,243,662.00 per year, 87.54% of on farm, 0.91% of off farm and 11.55% of non farm.  The expenditure of rice farmers’ household in that village was Rp20,545,157.00 per year, 80.94% was allocated for primary needs such as food and 19.06%  for other needs. It could be concluded that the income of Sukajawa rice farmers was relatively low, because most of their income was used for food. The factors that influenced rice farmers’ expenditures were income level (X1), family member (X2),and the area of the rice field (X5). Key words: expenditure, farmers, household, income

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the role of  farmers group on the improvement of coffee farmers’ income, the level of coffee farmers' income, and the changes of coffee farmers' income before and after being members of farmers group. The research was conducted on purposein Tugusari Village of Sumberjaya Subdistrict, West Lampung Regency by survey method. The samples of this research were 89 coffee farmers who are members of farmers group. The research data collection was conducted from September 2013 until March 2014. The research data was analyzed descriptively and by paired sample t test difference. The results showed that the role of farmers group on improving farmers’ income was classified as high;  the average level of coffee farmers’ income per year per hectare before and after being members of farmers group were Rp10,797,325 and Rp20,068,064; and the average improvement of coffee income per year per hectare was Rp9,270,738.
