Abstract

Eel is one of the fisheries commodity that have not been rearing widelyin Indonesia. Constraint that occured in rearing eel is slow growth. A way to accelerate eel growth isfeeding with enrichment by using an amino acids. An amino acids can be used directly by eel for cell growth and the formation of body tissue. An amino acid that is used from the stingrays are not utilized by people  because it has no economic value to production activities. This research was aimed to study the growth rate of eel whichis fed with enrichment of an amino acids derived from stingray extract. The method in this research used completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The measure of eel that usedare 26-28 cm, the average weight is 28 grams and an amino acids dosage that used are 0 ml, 0.5 ml and 1 ml. It use FR 3% which is given at night to support the characteristic of eel that is nocturnal (active at night). The analyze result from the parameters that have been observed, there is not a significant effect (P> 0.05) and the fed with enrichment by using an amino acids with the dosage used hasn't been able to be utilized as fish feed mixture to increase growth rate.

Abstract

The feed given to cobia’s juvennile (Rachycentron canadum) still uses expensive factory-made feed to be the basis of this research. This aims of this research to examine the effect of feed formula with different protein levels on optimal growth cobia. This research method  used a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications. The treatment in this study were different protein level commercial feed (as control/46%), and formula feed (protein P1 46% and P2 protein 48%). The parameters tested included absolute weight, daily growth rate, feed conversion ratio, protein retention, and survival rate. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance and continued with the duncan test with a 95% confidence interval. The results showed that the growth of absolute weight and daily growth rates generated from each treatment were significantly different (p <0.05), K (80.30 ± 11.20c g and 1.78 ± 0.25c g/day), P1 (21.87 ± 1.95a g and 0.49 ± 0.05a g/day), P2 (37.43 ± 3.29b g and 0.83 ± 0.07b g/day).

Abstract

Margasari aquaculture area in Labuhan Maringgai District of East Lampung Regency is applying the system of black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) extensively. The decrease in the number of shrimp production in Margasari Village is suspected as a result of sediment degradation in the pond area. This study was aimed to evaluate the quality of sediment in the pond area for the cultivation of black tiger shrimp. The samples were collected for 4 weeks at 3 ponds, data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed the location of ponds of 1 belongs to the suitability of the highly suitable (S1) for cultivation activities. The location of ponds of 2 and 3 belong to the moderately suitable (S2) for the cultivation of black tiger shrimp, and requiring more treatment for pH, C-Organic, nitrogen, potassium.

Abstract

Hoven’s carp is one of the potential fish in Indonesia to be developed. But due to its slow growth, making people not cultivating it. This research aimed to study the effect of using rGH and determine the best dosage on growth of hoven’s carp. Hoven’s carp used were 70 - 90 mm in size and 5 - 6 g in weight 4 months old. Hoven’s carp used are 10 fish in each pond This study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment was A (without administration of rGH), B (administration of rGH 1 mg/kg of feed), C (administration of rGH 2 mg/kg of feed), and D (administration of rGH 3 mg/kg of feed). Parameters observed consisted of growth absolute length, the growth of absolute weight, SR, FCR, and protein retention. The results showed that the effect on hoven’s carp growth of rGH and best dose in this study is in treatment B (administration of rGH 2 mg/kg of feed)

Abstract

Tiger barb (Puntigrus tetrazona) is one of the ornamental freshwater fish which has unique body shape and color compare to another ornamental fish. Fish color quality is caused by chromatophore pigmen cells in the epidermis layer. Increasing of color quality in fish can be reach through the addition of indigofera leaf meal that contain carotenoid. The aim of this research to study the effect of addition meal of Indigoferazollingerianaleaf on colour quality and growth of tiger barb. The experimental design used completely randomized design with 5 treatments i.e 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% of I. zollingeriana meal added in fish feed. The results showed that the addition of I. zollingeriana meal could increase tiger barb color quality. The addition of 15% I. zollingeriana meal was the best treatment

Abstract

Eel (Anguilla bicolor) is a export commodity fish in fisheries sector and has has high economic value but has slow growth. One method to accelerate eel growth is through feeding with the enrichment of fish oil. The aim of this research is to know the increase of growth rate of eel fish fed with the enrichment of essential fatty acids with fish oil. The study used 3 treatments and 3 replications ie A (0% fish oil / control), B (1.5% fish oil), and C (3% fish oil). Parameters observed included specific growth rate, feed consumption total, feed efiesiensi, fat retention, survival rate. The supporting parameters are water quality. The result of research obtained were tabulated and analyzed by excel 2013 program and SPSS v. 20.0. with 95% confidence interva and continued by Duncan test. The results showed that there was a significant effect (P <0.05) on the growth rate of eel fish fed with the enrichment of essential fatty acids with fish oil. Treatment C (3% fish oil) is the optimum dose because it has the best growth performance and best feed efficiency that is specific growth rate (4,61% ± 0,0075), total feed consumption (246,3 g ± 50,1), feed efiesiensi (42,5% ± 3,74), fat retention (2,97% ± 0,148) and survival rate (86,7% ± 11,5).

Abstract

Shrimp cultured in Purworejo Village begun in the 1980s. Productivity of shrimp farming in this region, had experienced a peak of success in 1998 with an average production of 200 kg / ha with black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) as the main commodity. Productivity decreases to 120kg / ha then occur due to decreasing environmental quality and susceptible post larvae to disease infections. One effort to increase the productivity of ponds can be done by switching the cultivation of black tiger shrimp to Pacific white leg (Litopenaeus vannamei) shrimp. The purpose of this study was to study the feasibility of semiintensive Pacific whiteleg shrimp cultured. This research was carried out in two shrimp farmer groups namely Sido Makmur and Lestari Gemilang located in Purworejo Village, Pasir Sakti District, East Lampung Regency. The type of research used is a case study and uses descriptive tests. The results showed that Pacific white leg shrimp cultured can produce 10,804,45 kg/3 ha and achieve a profit of Rp. 407.025.500 with a net B/C of 1,7. Moreover, black tiger shrimp culturehas reached 725 kg/5 ha with a profit of Rp. 13.660.000 with net B/C of 1,2. This study concluded semiintensive Pacific whiteleg shrimp is profitable compared toblack tiger shrimp cultured. It is also feasible to be developed by the village community.
