Abstract

This paper presents a semisolid forming process as a new process that can replace conventional casting andforming process. Semisolid forming process is metal procesing in semisolid state. There are several advantages of thisprocess. The important of these is non-turbulent filling of the die. Non-turbulent die fill in the process can eliminate airentrapment encountered in the conventional die casting. The semisolid forming process also offers the near net shapecapabilities of die casting and produces parts with less shrinkage porosity and macrosegregation. The limitation ofsemisolid forming process is this process requires globular (non-dendritic) structure alloys for raw material process.

Abstract

Fenomena getaran bebas teredam dengan getaran satu derajat kebebasan ini diuji di Laboratorium FenomenaDasar Mesin dengan memanfaatkan alat uji getaran Sanderson (Sanderson Simple Vibration Aparatus). Pengujiandilakukan dengan mengganti peredam zalir yaitu SAE 20, SAE 40 dan SAE 90, serta mengganti jumlah putaran katup(dashpot) untuk menghasilkan osilasi pada alat uji yang ditunjukkan dengan grafik gelombang sinusoidal di plotteralat uji.Data yang didapatkan berupa data amplitudo getaran terhadap waktu. Dipilih dua amplitudo X1 dan X2 yangberurutan sehingga didapatkan besaran-besaran yang mempunyai hubungan dengan fenomena getaran bebas teredamyaitu pengurangan logaritmik (), rasio peredaman () dan konstanta peredaman (c). Dengan melakukan analisa datasecara grafik dan matematik diperoleh kesimpulan semakin besar putaran katup memberikan efek peredaman yangmenurun dan peredam zalir yang memberikan efek peredaman dari yang terbesar secara berturut-turut SAE 40, SAE90 dan SAE 20.

Abstract

Bensin biru atau bensin tanpa timbal dengan angka oktan rendah ( 80) direkomendasikan digunakan padamesin bensin dua langkah. Bila digunakan pada mesin bensin empat langkah tanpa merubah penyetelan apapun darimesin, dan dibandingkan dengan pemakaian bensin premium, akan menghasilkan penurunan prestasi mesin yangrelatif kecil ( < 6 % ). Namun emisi gas buang ( CO, Nox dan HC) yang dihasilkan lebih rendah ( 60 %) dari padabensin premium

Abstract

In general literature, there is no Nuselt Number formula on several angle flat plate at free convection. Thereare the local Nuselt Number formulas for forced convection heat transfer in cross flow on pipe. While in the practicaltecnology as in the boiler, we find pipe or plat at in angle. The aim of this research is to discript the influence of angleof plate to Nuselt Number for free convection heat transfer. The hot fluid is steam and cold fluid is water.Steam flow at low Renold Number or laminair flow (pressure difference about stagnation and static prssure at1 cm coloum water). We asume that thermal conducticity for plate material is known (from conduction table). From theseries heat transfer, convection on hot fluid, conduction on plate material and convection on cold fluid, we can find thefree convection at hot and cold fluid. Than we can calculate Nuselt Number at both free convection. The form of freeconvection at this result and theoritical are similar with a little deviation.
