Abstract

Customer churn is the most important problem in the business world, especially in the telecommunications industry, because it greatly influences company profits. Getting new customers for a company is much more difficult and expensive than retaining existing customers. Machine learning, part of data mining, is a sub-field of artificial intelligence widely used to make predictions, including predicting customer churn. Deep neural network (DNN) has been used for churn prediction, but selecting hyperparameters in modeling requires more time and effort, making the process more challenging for the researcher. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a better architecture for the DNN algorithm by using a hard tuner to obtain more optimal hyperparameters. The tuning hyperparameter used is random search in determining the number of nodes in each hidden layer, dropout, and learning rate. In addition, this study also uses three variations of the number of hidden layers, two variations of the activation function, namely rectified linear unit (ReLu) and Sigmoid, then uses five variations of the optimizer (stochastic gradient descent (SGD), adaptive moment estimation (Adam), adaptive gradient algorithm (Adagrad), Adadelta, and root mean square propagation (RMSprop)). Experiments show that the DNN algorithm using hyperparameter tuning random search produces a performance value of 83.09 % accuracy using three hidden layers, the number of nodes in each hidden layer is [20, 35, 15], using the RMSprop optimizer, dropout 0.1, the learning rate is 0.01, with the fastest tuning time of 21 seconds. Better than modeling using k-nearest neighbor (K-NN), random forest (RF), and decision tree (DT) as comparison algorithms.

Abstract

Pembuatan magnet lunak MnZn ferit dan magnet keras barium ferit telah dilakukan menggunakan bahan baku utama limbah pengelasan. Limbah pengelasan yang digunakan merupakan limbah dengan komposisi utama Fe dan O dengan Al dan Bi sebagai pengotor. Magnet dipabrikasi menggunakan metode metalurgi serbuk, yang diawali dengan penggilingan selama 6 jam untuk mendapatkan serbuk, dilanjutkan dengan pemanggangan pada 560 °C selama 1 jam untuk mendapatkan fasa hematit. Karakterisasi XRD (x-ray diffraction) menggunakan analisa Rietveld menunjukkan hematit 73,4% berat telah terbentuk setelah pemanggangan dengan fasa magnetik sebesar 26,6% berat. Serbuk setelah pemanggangan digunakan sebagai bahan baku magnet ferit dengan ditambahkan senyawa penyusun kation dan aditif. Perhitungan stoikiometri bahan baku yang digunakan pada penelitian ini didasarkan pada rumus kimia Mn0,8Zn0,2Fe2O4 dan BaFe12O19. Melalui karakterisasi menggunakan Permagraph, pembuatan magnet menggunakan limbah pengelasan didapatkan sifat magnetik untuk MnZn ferit adalah induksi remanen 0,83 kG dengan koersifitas 0,084 kOe dan untuk barium ferit memiliki induksi remanen 1,22 kG dengan koersifitas 2,996 kOe.

Abstract

Asymmetric parallel-cascaded micro-ring resonator (APCMR) is proposed. The proposed device is composed of two or more micro-ring-resonators with different diameter. The proposed device is designed using transfer matrix combined with signal flow graph methods. The designed device with crosstalk less than and equal -10 dB can be obtained by setting coupling coefficient. The proposed device can be used for optical filters and sensors.

Abstract

In this paper, design and realization of FIR filter with a bandwidth of 40 MHz at 50-90 MHz frequency has been proposed. The design was destined to be implemented on the Inter Satellite Links (ISL). This kind of filter had been selected due to a need in linear phase responseon the ISL data communication. Equiripple method was used to design the filter becauseof its reliability in minimizing the magnitude errors. The design of this FIR filter was conducted with theoretical calculation and simulation using the R2012b Matlab. For the implementation, FPGA was used with a VHDL as the programming language with a help of Xilinx ISE Design Suite 14.5. Simulation results in Matlab and Simulink indicated that the filter design could be well implemented on ISL at frequency of 50 MHz - 90 MHz with stopband of 60 db. The phase responseresult of the realized design is quite linear so that the filter is suitable for data communication on the ISL.
