Abstract

Climatological change analysis of rain fall in Maros and Ciamis had been done using rain fall data for 103 years. The rain fall process was focused in wet months (DJF) and dry months (JJA). The results show that in Maros and Ciamis area there had been a rain fall climatological change in every 30 years an average period. Using Statistical Distribution method, an extreme rain fall occurred in each period. The maximum rain fall in Maros was 1937 mm/month for wet months (DJF) and 316 mm/month, while in Ciamis was 1039 mm/month for wet month and 1199mm/month for dry month.

Abstract

Logit cumulative model is used to discribe the relationship between a response variable and one or more explanatory variables which response variable is of ordinal scale. To estimate the parameters, use maximum likelihood method with Newton Raphson iteration. Testing for the significance of the coefficients is done to fit the model. Test for overall significance of the variables in the model is performed by likelihood ratio test and test on individual coefficient is done using Wald’s test

Abstract

In this paper will be studied a Generalized Non Linear Rayleigh Oscillator. It will be shown that the recently developed perturbation method based on integrating factors can be used to approximate first integrals and periodic solutions. Not only approximations of first integrals will be given, but it will also be shown how in a rather efficient way the existence and stability of time-periodic solutions can be obtained from these approximations.

Abstract

Spline smoothing is a popular method for estimating the function in nonparametric regression  model. Its performance depends greatly on the choice of smoothing parameters. Many methods of selecting smoothing parameters such as GCV, GML and UBR are developed under the assumption of independent observations. They fail badly when data are correlated. In nonparametric regression, correlated error could be solved by finding weighted estimator and determine the correlation matrix from the error. Estimation of nonparametric function is obtained by minimizing the penalized weighted least-square (PWLS). In this paper, the extension of the GML method to estimate the smoothing parameters and correlation simulataneously is presented. Simulation was conducted to evaluate and to compare the performance of  the original GML and the extended GML method. The extended GML is recommended since it works well in all simulation scheme. This method is also able to illustrate the data concentration data in a continous chemical process

Abstract

A relation R on set A is an equivalence relation on A if and only if R is reflexive, symmetric and transitive. If two equivalence relations on set A are  combined, the combination of them is not surely an equivalence relation, because it is not surely transitive relation. In this paper is found the smallest transitive relation (transitive closure) of the combination, to be an equivalence relation. Then the steps to determine transitive closure are programmed in Pascal programming language with dynamic data structure that is multilist.

Abstract

Let  be independent observation data and follows a model  Yi = f(Xi) + eI ,  i =1,2,...,n  with f is an unknown regression function and ei are independent random variables with mean 0 and variance s2. The function f could be estimated by parametric and nonparametric appro-aches. In nonparametric approach, the function f is assumed to be a smooth function or quadratic integrable function. If f belongs to the Hilbert space L2(R) then the function f could be estimated by estimator of orthogonal series, especially by Fourier series estimator. Another estimator of orthogonal series  which could be use  to estimate f is wavelet estimator. Wavelet estimator is an extention of Fourier series estimator  but it is more effective than the Fourier series estimator because the its IMSE converges to zero quicker than the Fourier series estimator.
