Abstract

Fuselage is a structure of airplane as the location where the passengers and goods as well as to place the wing and other structures. Fuselage gets loading when the aircraft take off, flight maneuvers, landing and when at the ground. One is the pressure loading on the fuselage aircraft cabin. In continuous operation airplane due to cabin pressure damage such as cracks often occur in the fuselage. The use of skin doubler to handle cases mainly crack analysis is needed to see the effect doubler thickness and variations in fastener against the structure strength. In this study doubler skin structure modeling and analysis using software CATIA V5R21. Modeling structures made 4 types of structure to use variations of the number of fastener and three other structures to changes in the thickness of the doubler. The whole model is given tensile load and differential pressure. Use of doubler thicker in the repair structure will lower the stress that occurs at the doubler. The more number of rows of fastener used will decrease the stress on the fastener this happens to tensile load, but not effective enough for the load pressure differential. Modeling the structure is safe against tensile loading and internal pressure.

Abstract

The existence o f fe e t as the part of the human body is very important to support the daily activities which is to support the body and to walk. The lost of the under knee part (amputation) is the dominant case of the total cases of amputation in Indonesia. So that we need a tool to restore the balance of the human body to be able to do our daily activity. The tool is called prostheses. The design and manufacture of prototypeshank prostheses under knee is intended for persons who have 162 cm height and 57 Kg of average weight. Prostheses are aimed to the persons who only lost one limb below the knee. In this design, the length of the shank can be set according to the length of leg amputated and is intended to persons who are still experiencing high growth (teenager). The material is stainless steel 316L. The shank has a length 200-300 mm, width 67 mm and 2 mm thick.

Abstract

Learning through the use of animation E-Learning can be a learning tool to teach using electronic applications, media, Internet, Intranet or other computer network media. In addition to computers and Internet networks, which play a role in e-learning is the brainware that is creating content (text, images, video, animation) and user/users of e-learning (teachers and students). It should be noted in making animated e-learning is the content that should be included in accordance with the curriculum that is used by the school to be used for teaching and learning in schools. Making animated blueprint of learning by using characters then do modeling and animation. The subjects used in this study animation is Mathematics and Physics. Software used in the manufacture of learning applications that 3ds Max 2010, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe After Effects. The analysis tested the effectiveness of learning communication using questionnaire and calculation using a Likert scale that shows the percentage of 69.83%, the analysis proves that by using an animated e-learning teaching and learning activities in the classroom more effectively.

Abstract

The knowledge and experience in aircraft design, especially for glider or sailplane are very important to have. Today, process of designing glider developed so rapidly, especially in America and Europe, one of the significant achievement is the performance aspect of glider. For example, the German-built Eta has a wingspan 30.78 m, aspect ratio 51 and wing loading 50.97 kg/m2, with glide angle of 0.8 degree and 3 km altitude, the glider able to fly 213 km in horizontal direction. Therefore, as the first step to understand the preliminary design of glider, it is important to start with designing a scale model glider STTA-25-02_Sailplane. The goals of this design are to get geometry and configuration of the glider, to obtained stability of glider and to gain performance data that meet with design requirements and objectives data (DR&O). The conclusions from the preliminary design of scale model glider STTA-25-02_Sailplane are the geometry and configuration are good, for example the achivement in performance, the minimum sink rate 0.52 m/s, the glide ratio more than 20 at a cruising speed over 13 m/s, stall speed 11.45 m/s at angle of attack 0 degree. In addition glider STTA-25-02_Sailplane has static and dynamic stability, the static stability condition is indicated by the value of trim angle is positive 1 degree, curve of Cma and Clfi has negative slope, Cnfi curve has positive slope. The dynamic stability condition is indicated by the eigen value for each mode o f movement are negative except on phugoid and spiral mode, eigen value for short period -5.7681 ± 7.0010, phugoid 0.0403 ± 1.1136, rool damping -32.6243, dutch roll -1.0468 ± 3.4891 and spiral 0.1467. Positive eigen value on phugoid and spiral mode can be solved by adding a control parameter of the controlsurfaces.

Abstract

Nodular cast iron is the cast iron that has nodular graphite spherical structure distributed in ferrite or pearlite matrix or in both of them. Recently, this material is used widely in industries because its low cost and better performance. The advanced metal industries nowadays have found some new technologies in order to improve the properties of materials. One of them is the addition of another elements into the base metals, such as nickel. The effects of the addition 1wt %, 2wt % and 3wt % nickel into nodular cast iron 50 on tensile and hardness properties were investigated in this study. The experimental results show that the best amount of nickel that added into nodular cast iron is 3% wt, which has the best tensile and hardness properties

Abstract

The airport as flight network node is the starting point and the end of the movement of people/goods. The airport can also be a transit point before continuing the journey to the destination. The closure of the airport due to force majeure such as a disaster or terrorism may disrupt the national air transportation network. The effects of the closure of an airport to the national air transportation network depends on the level of connectivity of the airport. This study aimed to quantify the connectivity between two airports in the national air transportation network. Based on the connectivity data, it can be determined that appropriate mitigation strategies during an airport closure due to force majeure.

Abstract

Biogas is an alternative energy sources as a substitute for fossil fuels in household activities daily, but there are obstacles in the use of biogas, namely the difficulty of arranging a flame that is stable and fuel consumption relatively less efficient biogas. So it takes a design development system that will produce a burning stove produces biogas-fueled stove fits the purpose of research, on the other hand biogas stove should be simple, cheap production price, maximum efficiency and safe to use. Stages in the study include: desk assessment, creation of objective requirements design, manufacture conceptual and basic design, manufacture real stove. As for knowing the performance of the stove carried stove performance tests are: test flame stability and efficiency. The results showed that the efficiency of the biogas stove design results in only 31 percent higher than the efficiency of biogas stoves old design, while the fuel consumption of biogas stoves new design is 16 percent lower when compared with fuel consumption of biogas stoves old design. In terms of manufacture and ease of repair and maintenance of gas cookers new design is more easily repaired and easy to make and simple in form compared with the old design biogas stoves.

Abstract

The development of technology has opened up a new wireless infrastructure to complement the satellite and terrestrial networks. High Altitude Platforms (HAPs) is a communications infrastructure that uses air balloon as a solution between terrestrial and satellite communications systems with medium coverage and low cost o f launching and maintenance. HAPs can be joined with a Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology standardized by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). LTE uses orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology for downlink. OFDM technology is a technology that uses multicarrier and bring the data in parallel and the bandwidth is divided into several subcarrier. To improve the performance of LTE in an increase in capacity, coverage, and speed of data, then it can use MIMO techniques. MIMO is a technique using multiple antenna transmitter and receiver antennas that are used to overcome the problem of multipath fading and increase the capacity of the system to be serviced. MIMO support the achievement of high transmission speed. In the simulation, signals generated by the modified jakes model into a ricean channel using the K factor 1.41, 1.99, 2.33, 2.66, 4.61, 6.35, 9.21, 12.15, 16.77 dB with elevation angle of 1 0 ° to 90°. The larger the K factor, the smaller the shift doppler at each speed. Elevation angle have a relationship to the coverage area of HAPs, the smaller the elevation angle of the wider the coverage area, and the higher the position, the wider HAPs coverage area too. In ergodic capacity, the smaller the K factor, the smaller the elevation angle so that the capacity is also greater. System without estimation for the K factor o f 1.41dB and K 9.21dB is necessary for channel estimation and the Bit Error Rate (BER) o f the same system that made channel estimation has a better performance compared with the existing channel without estimation with the SNR improvement o f about 18 dB.
