Abstract

Long before  the invention of alphabetical code in  human language system, primitive  communities  uses  a  picture  or  sign  as  a  medium  to interpret, memorized  and transmitted  their  daily  life  reality. They drew a picture of an object around them in a cave, stone or wood. Its  the only communication system they have to express their life experience.Since the alphabetical system found in human civization, this picture language slowly fade. Iconography becomes a second language that use only by a specific group for a special contex. But this time, iconography becomes an alternative language that use in large contex of modern lifes. One of the most phenomenal systems of picture language in modern life was developed by Microsoft Windows called HUI’s (Graphical User Interface).

Abstract

Bepuluh tahun     yang     lalu, ketika     masyarakat       kita     belum dibebani   oleh  persoalan -  persoalan  sosial ekonomi   dan politik   yang  berat,  etika  sosial  berjalan baik.  Keserasian terasa dan terdengar dalam berbagai bentuk intcraksi sosial,Beberapa   tahun   kemudian,    kondisi   sosial   berubah    seiring dengan perkembangan  situasi ekonomi dan politik.Beban berat dalam persoalan - persoalan ekonomi, perembesan persoalan-persoalan  politik, dan penghapusan pelajaran budi pekerti mengurangi pe rhatian orang terhadap etika.Menurunnya  perhatian terhadap  etika  sosial  dapat terlihat  dan terdengar   dalam beberapa  aspek   pergaulan   sosial,  di  sekolah - sekolah dan lingkungan universitas. Para siswa dan mahasiswa berpakaian. berperilaku, dan  berbicara  dengan cara - cara  tidak sopan.Kemerosotan  etika komunikasi terlihat juga pada beberapa karya atau produk -  produk jurnalistik.     ·Perbaikan yang disarankan adalah peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat   dan   para  pendidik,   kemudian  dihidupkannya   kembali

Abstract

The title of this paper is “Displacement Effect of TV and The child’s functional Orientation to Media”.This paper is to discuss the issue in “ Wacana” as a scientific Journal published by FIKOM UPDM (B), which is meant to broaden perspective in conducting research in mass communication.For that purpose, the writer had made some analysis on the research conduct by IR Brown, JK Grammond, and RJ Wide entitled “ Displacement Effect of Television and the “Child’s Functional Orientation to the Media”, which is related to the use of Mass Communication Current Perspective on Gratification Research published by Jay. G. Blummer and Elenn Katz.The research published by JR. Brown and his colleagues is focused on the displacement’s effects of TV and other mass communication media, such as books, comics, radio, and newspaper.This study tries to find out how effective the media is in influencing the development of child’s who has sufficient facilities and who has not, where situsional and social factors are included to be necessarily considered in this study, such as where the children live, how the children spent their time, and what the media meant to them.

Abstract

Leadership, a short a word, easy to say, every one need leadership and everyone talks about leadership today, but not any people knows why, what and how is it exactly leadership. Not only just leadership but an effective and proper leadership.History records lots of evidence of how leadership plays a very important rule to anybody, not only to those who leads. A leader needs leadership, a sub ordinate needs leadership, An Individual is actually a leader, though not every leader has leadership. Leader who doesn’t have leadership would be ignored, leader who has leadership but aren’t able to properly apply it would also be ignored.Leadership is not a constant requiring fixed abilities or a fixed pattern. It depends on a) the leader philosophy or his own value system, b) the type of his follower and c) the situations in which it is to be exercised. In the, the leader has to play a particular role depending on his follower and the situation in which the leadership is being exercised.
