Abstract

This paper is aimed at the analysis of the emotive interjections from the interview video entitled "Stephanie Poetri Loves Playing the Sims and Is a Big Fan of Lauv!". Furthermore, it will explain the function of each emotive interjection that is found in the interview video. However, this paper uses quantitative and qualitative methods to support data analysis. Because the quantitative method will give information about the total number of the usage emotive interjections. Then the qualitative method is used for understanding the context of emotive interjection in the interview after collecting the total number of the data.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the type of deixis in the song lyrics of Justin Bieber's "My World" Album. There were seven (7) song lyrics in this album, analyzed using a pragmatic approach of the theory Alan Cruse. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative. The deixis analysis in this study focused on person deixis, spatial deixis, and temporal deixis. The result of this study found 800 person deixis, 197 spatial deixis, and 82 temporal deixis in this album.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the interjection words used in the Linked soul online comic. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data source is the Linked soul online comic in English. The results of the study are as follows. First, based on the type of interjection used in the comic, the researchers found 20 primary interjections and 10 secondary interjections. Second, based on its meaning, interjection can be divided into four (emotive, cognitive, conative, and phatic). Third, from the four interjection words, emotive occupies the top position (17), followed by cognitive (8), conative (4) and phatic (1). The total amount of interjection content in volume 1,3 and 5 found 36 interjections. 28 among them are the primary type and the eight interjections for secondary type.
