Abstract

This study is aimed to determine the mechanical properties of composite materials using hybrid reinforcing materials, namely carbon fiber and woven wire. The variations in the composition of the matrix / carbon fiber / woven wire (in%) used were 70/0/30, 70/30/0, 70,20 / 10, 50/30/20. The mechanical tests performed were the tensile test (ASTM D 638-03) and the impact test (ASTM D 6110). The results show that the composites with the composition 50/30/20 have the highest tensile and impact strength. Specimens with the highest carbon fiber content have better tensile strength.

Abstract

Industrial development is hand-to-hand with economic growth. It has a positive impact on many economic sectors and human living, but also produces hazardous waste which giving a negative impact on the environment and human health. Industrial wastes have a high contribution to climate changes, many human diseases, a mutation on animals and plants. Recently, there are many methods to overcome industrial waste include physical, chemical, and biological treatment. Moreover, waste management also is developed to optimize the treatment using 3R (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) and WTE (Waste to Energy). Therefore, this paper tried to discuss many technologies for industrial waste treatment and management includes recent research, benefit, and drawback.

Abstract

A water resource is an important element in the contemporary society life.  In global world water loss or water leaking can vary between 10% to 40% of total water volume produced.  A traditional method such as visual inspection can be operates but that method required a long time. The objectives of the research to identify the occurrence of leaks and know its exact location in the pipeline by using specific method which are acoustic leak detection method and transient method. An EEMD method will be applied as the analysis method to collect and analyses the data. Based on the experimental results that the EEMD analysis predict satisfactorily the location in MDPE pipeline as it can detect and locate the leak up to error of 4.09% and 0.61%. The EEMD method had the best perform and already produce an acceptable result.

Abstract

Observation of the weather elements is very necessary for the welfare of mankind, the weather elements that are observed will be used as material to predict the weather in the future. Weather data can also be used to reduce the risk of adverse effects caused by the weather itself. To measure the weather with an automated monitoring system that is cheaper and of good quality, AWS was created. The AWS design using Raspberry Pi was made as a use of Raspberry Pi mini computer technology for the purposes of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). humidity, Rain Counter, wind direction, wind speed, air pressure, altitude, and GPS. Display data can be monitored via the web in the form of an Analog Gauge.

city of Cirebon with Cirebon Regency (Palimanan) which plays an important role in the business of goods and services distribution services. This Road Function Worthiness Test aims to determine the feasibility of the road function on Bts roads. Palimanan City - Bts. Cirebon City, to find out the causes of malfunctioning based on traffic management and engineering on the road sections under study, and to propose follow-up actions if these roads do not meet the functional category. Test analysis function of road based on traffic management and engineering is performed by measuring deviation conditions in the field against a standard and the needs of the technical .But , in the preparation of this writer researching a thesis only 3 ( three ) of 7 seven the technical aspects of pertaining to management and traffic engineering. The technical aspects of third include: ( 1 ) technical the implementation of traffic management and engineering , ( 2 ) the way of technical equipment that are directly connected to road users , and ( 3 ) technical equipment a way that is not directly related to road users. The methodology that was used is by comparing technical standart on the condition in field with its reference to appendix ii minister for public works number 11 / prt / m / 2010 on procedures and requirements worthy function of road. Abstract

Refrigerant is substance or chemical composition which alternately compressed and condensed into a liquid and then expanded into vapor or gas when pumped through the cooling system. Alternative refrigerants are needed to replace full the halogenated refrigerants which are believed to contribute to ozone depletion in the atmosphere. In the last decade, many research and development of studies on the synthesis and characterization alternative refrigerants have been carried out. With replace a limited Ozone Depleting Substance (ODS) with any alternative can involve major changes in the design of various components such as insulation, lubricants, heat exchangers and motors. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of hydrogen mixture with refrigerant R134a on the pressure of each component. This research used an experimental method on a direct cooling device. The data which obtained from the experimental results on this cooling machine then will process to determine the pressure that occurs in each component of the cooling machine. Based on the results of this research, the effect of the hydrogen mixture on refrigerant R134a on the performance of the cooling machine is the differences density of each mixture ratio. If more of hydrogen additions there, the density of result mixture also getting smaller. This will affect the pressure that occurs in the compressor because the relationship between density and pressure is directly proportional. The conclusion is the refrigerant from a mixture of hydrogen gas and Freon R134a is suitable for use as a refrigerant for air condition. Because at 60 minutes, the mixture ratio of 85%:15% can reduce the water temperature slowly until 20.2ºC. The slow cooling is felt bad when applied on the food preservation.
