Abstract

Regional Original Revenue, namely revenue obtained from various sources located in the region, is collected and managed by the regional government based on the applicable Constitution. The position of East Nusa Tenggara Province's Original Regional Revenue ranks 24th out of a total of 34 provinces. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of Government Expenditure, GDRP, Total Population, Number of Hotels, and Number of Restaurants on Regional Original Revenue in 22 Regencies/Cities of East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2015-2020. This research uses panel data method, and uses STATA analysis tool. The results of this study indicate that the best model chosen is the Random Effect Model. The GDRP and Population Variables have no significant effect on Regional Original Income. While the variables of Government Expenditure, Number of Hotels and Number of Restaurants have a positive and significant effect on Regional Original Income in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara.

Abstract

Indonesian handicraft products are potential export products that can survive amid sluggish Indonesian non-oil and gas exports. Indonesian handicraft exports today are also influenced by the development of information and communication technology. This study aims to determine the effect of information and communication technology on Indonesian handicraft exports during 2010-2019. The method used is a gravity model approach for panel data. However, due to heteroscedasticity problems and errors that are not normally distributed, the method was developed into a random effect quantile regression model. The data used is panel data consisting of 10 main destination countries for Indonesian handicraft exports during the 2010-2019 period. The results indicate that mobile broadband and mobile cellular users of export destination countries and individual Indonesian internet usage, significantly affects Indonesian handicraft exports on the middle and upper quantiles data. However, in the lower quantile, Indonesia's individual internet usage does not significantly affect Indonesian handicraft exports. Increasing penetration of Indonesia's internet usage for handicraft products marketing can be directed at countries belonging to the lower quantiles, such as the United Kingdom and The United Arab Emirates.

Abstract

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector is one of the main drivers of economic growth, so the condition of the ICT sector becomes an essential factor in development. The ICT sector consists of the manufacturing and service sectors whose main activities are related to the development, production, commercial and intensive use of ICT. In 2016-2020, six provinces on Java Island became the provinces with the highest IP-ICT scores. Java Island had a GDP share of 59 percent of Indonesia's GDP in 2020. Meanwhile, the ICT sector's GDP share of Indonesia's total GDP was 4.25 percent in 2020. This study aims to analyze factors that affect the development of the ICT sector in Java Island , 2016-2020. The data used is secondary data from Statistics Indonesia. Using the panel data regression, the results show that the number of workers in the ICT sector, the average length of schooling, and internet users had a significant and positive effect on the development of the ICT sector in Java Island in 2016-2020. The level of household consumption for telecommunications has no significant impact on ICT sector development in Java in 2016-2020.

Abstract

Increasing the value chain of a commodity in a region can be a major factor in the development of the local economy in a region. The same is true for the cashew nut agribusiness in Wonogiri because Wonogiri Regency is the leading producer of cashew (Anacardium Occindintale) in Central Java Province with production approaching 90% of the total production in Central Java. Therefore, it is necessary to study the value chain of cashew nut production as the main commodity driving the economy of Wonogiri Regency along with the actors involved, critical points, and obstacles in it so that the objectives of this research can be achieved. With a qualitative descriptive approach, this research makes more use of field observations and surveys, and primary data is the main data source. The results obtained are that obstacles are still found in each value chain both at the input, production, collection, processing, and marketing stages, but efforts to overcome obstacles have been formulated since input, namely through efforts to strengthen institutional systems and farmer's group management, product diversification and produce derivative products, as well as coaching and mentoring managerial governance, accounting and marketing techniques for cashew agribusiness actors.

Abstract

Shortly after independence, Mozambique's economy was characterized predominantly by a public investment over private investment until roughly 1986. In this period, the public sector was seen as the main economic agent, centralizing most of the available resources. Bearing in mind that investment is one of the main components of aggregate demand and source of long-term economic growth, its fluctuations affect significantly the overall functioning of an economy and agriculture in particular. It's in this perspective the study comes in to unfold and understand the major determinants of the private investment in agriculture, as well as the constraints that represent the main challenges to invest in this sector due to the scarcity of capital. The study carried out an analysis of a theoretical approaches from exploratory, bibliographic combined with quantitative method based on the macroeconomic models (the neoclassical model, the flexible accelerator model, and the options model) to address the question of the study. And to achieve our objectives, the sample referred to the period of 2003-2017 and the choice of that period is associated, among several factors the consistency and availability of data on the variables included in the model such as the real GDP; GDP of the agrarian sector; public investment (government spending on infrastructure, electricity, water, between others); real interest rate; inflation rate (a variable capturing the effects of uncertainty from macroeconomic instability on the level of investments) and arable land. The results showed that the agrarian sector is influenced by the wealth produced from engineering sector (infrastructure). Keywords: Determinants, Investment, Private Investment, Agricultural Sector, Economy

The main objectives are: First, to analyze the main determinants of regional economic growth in the three priority areas of East Java in Indonesia; Second, to discuss how much its contribution to regional economic growth; Last, to present the policy recommendations for supporting social and economic recovery during and after the Covid-19 outbreak in East Java. This study uses an econometric approach, namely: Panel VECM or Vector Error Correction Model with Impulse-Response Function (IRF) and Forcast Error Variance Decompositions (FEVD). The findings are: (1) The main determinants of the regional economic growth model in the priority areas of East Java province are the poverty level factor, health factor, education factor, and unemployment factor, and also the regional economic growth factor in the previous period, and (2) The empirical results are expected to contribute to formulating policies for provincial and regional governments, especially policies that support social-economic recovery during and after the Covid-19 pandemic in three priority areas of East Java Province. Keywords: Regional Economic Growth, Social and Economic Recovery, Covid-19, Three Priority Areas; East JavaABSTRAKPertumbuhan ekonomi daerah merupakan indikator penting ekonomi kerakyatan di tiga wilayah prioritas Provinsi Jawa Timur, yaitu: (a) Gerbangkertosusila; (b) Bromo Tengger Semeru, dan (c) Selingkar Wilis dan Lintas Selatan. Abstract

Transportation is one of the most important sectors in supporting all economic activities in order to support inclusive economic development. However, in its development, trade openness triggers high economic activity that triggers environmental pollution, one of which is the impact of the transportation sector. This study aims to estimate the effect of trade openness and transportation intensity as well as total factor productivity as a proxy for technological development on the growth of carbon emissions in Indonesia. The methods used in this research are Engle-Granger ECM and Granger Causality. The results show that in the long-term trade openness and transportation intensity have a significant positive effect, while the total productivity factor has a significant negative effect. In the short term with the same direction of influence, total productivity factors and transportation intensity have a significant effect, but trade openness does not have a significant effect. Furthermore, there is a unidirectional effect of fossil energy consumption on transportation intensity & trade oponess on transportation intensity. Last, transportation intensity and trade openness have been shown to have a bidirectional relationship.
