Abstract

Region financial independence indicates the ability of a government to finance its activities, the cost of development, and services to people concerning decentralization purposes. The objective of the research is to identify the level of financial independence of each regency and city in DIY Province, in which each promotes different potency. The quantitative method is employed in this research by using secondary data. Furthermore, the data are analyzed using the Panel Data method. The result demonstrates that in general the financial management in DIY Province is considered fair and resulted in the quite high financial condition index value.

Abstract

This study analyzes the comparative advantages of Indonesia's defense industry products against ASEAN-4 and China in the context of the ADIC (ASEAN Defense Industry Collaboration) collaboration. The data used is data from 10 defense industry products taken from UN COMTRADE using the 4 digit HS classification so that 248 commodities were analyzed. The measure of comparative advantage used is the Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA), while to determine whether the country is a net-importer or net-exporter, the Trade Balance Index (TBI) is used. Finally, the authors combine the two indices of comparative advantage to draw a mapping of Indonesia's defense industry products for each ASEAN-4 country and China. The analysis shows that most of Indonesia's export commodities (net-exporters) and comparative advantage are still primary products. While some products that have advantages over one country are primary cells and primary batteries and electrical materials (8506), roter or spark-ignition internal combustion piston engines (8407), vending machines for goods (postage, food or beverage) including exchange machines. money (8476), Tubes, pipes and hollow profiles of cast iron (7303).

Abstract

Regional Original Revenue, namely revenue obtained from various sources located in the region, is collected and managed by the regional government based on the applicable Constitution. The position of East Nusa Tenggara Province's Original Regional Revenue ranks 24th out of a total of 34 provinces. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of Government Expenditure, GDRP, Total Population, Number of Hotels, and Number of Restaurants on Regional Original Revenue in 22 Regencies/Cities of East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2015-2020. This research uses panel data method, and uses STATA analysis tool. The results of this study indicate that the best model chosen is the Random Effect Model. The GDRP and Population Variables have no significant effect on Regional Original Income. While the variables of Government Expenditure, Number of Hotels and Number of Restaurants have a positive and significant effect on Regional Original Income in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara.

Abstract

Globalization that took place in the last few decades has caused various changes in the world economic order. This effort was also carried out by Muslim countries with the aim of improving economic relations and coordination at the regional level so that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was formed. This study analyzes the comparative advantage and trade patterns between Indonesia and the OIC countries which are limited by 10 OIC member countries which have the largest average export value from Indonesia over the last ten years. These countries include Bangladesh, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Egypt, Pakistan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Data analysis in this study uses a quantitative approach. In this study, statistical software tools will be used, namely Microsoft Excel to calculate RCA, RSCA and also trading patterns of the 10 OIC countries with the largest trade volume, Indonesia tends to have a comparative advantage in products of Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage (HS 15) and Man-made staple fibers (HS 55) where these products are products that have a comparative advantage in the ten countries. Indonesia managed to maintain the same comparative advantage in 2005 and 2020 against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where the superior product group in those 2 years was exactly the same and only changed its ranking position.

Abstract

Regional Original Income is also a factor that has an influence on employment absorption. PAD can be used as a measure to assess regional economic conditions and community welfare. The number of workforce is the highest compared to the provinces on Sumatra Island in 2016-2020, of course North Sumatra Province also requires a larger number of jobs. The research objective was to analyze the relationship between employment and several independent variables, namely GRDP, UMK, PAD, and population. This research was conducted in 30 regencies and cities in North Sumatra Province in the period 2016 - 2020. The results of this study indicate that the best model used is the Fixed Effect Model. The results showed that the GRDP variable had a positive and significant effect on employment absorption. The UMK, PAD, and population variables have no significant effect on employment.

Abstract

Along with the development of relations between countries, both in the social and economic fields, cooperative relations between these countries are also developing. Southeast Asian countries, for example, agreed to form the ASEAN Community (ASEAN Community) in various economic, social and cultural aspects and political security. Indonesia certainly faces very diverse challenges in fighting for market share which is expected to be a place to sell the goods and services it produces. The purpose of this service is to explain and conduct discussion activities related to how to measure the competitiveness of the market share of Indonesian export products. The method used is a presentation in the form of a webinar using zoom. The results of the dedication show that there were active discussions with the participants and increased enthusiasm of the participants to write scientific papers related to trade competitiveness.

Abstract

The banking sector has a fairly important role related to its function which is a sub-system in the economy of a country. In the modern era, the banking sector is used in various activities including the provision of goods and services, consumption, and investment made by the community. This study aims to determine the performance of commercial banks before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data used in this study is cross-section data from 28 state-owned banks and National Private Foreign Exchange Commercial Bank in 2019 and 2020. The data were analyzed using the CAMEL analysis method. The result of the analysis showed there is no significant difference in performance between state-owned banks and National Private Foreign Exchange Commercial Bank before and during the covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Every country requires foreign exchange reserves to support national development and as a crucial indicator for stabilizing the economy. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of Exports, Foreign Debt, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and Foreign Tourist Arrivals on Foreign Exchange Reserves in Indonesia for the period 1992-2022. The data used in this research consists of secondary data, employing a time series model (ARDL), and utilizing Eviews version 10 software. The dependent variable utilized is Foreign Exchange Reserves, and the independent variables are Exports, Foreign Debt, FDI, and Foreign Tourist Arrivals. The data sources are obtained from Bank Indonesia (BI), the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), and the World Bank. The results of the data processing and research reveal that the variables of Exports and Foreign Debt have a positive and significant impact on foreign exchange reserves, whereas FDI and Foreign Tourist Arrivals do not affect Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves in the short term. However, in the long run, the variables that have a positive and significant impact are Exports and Foreign Tourist Arrivals. On the other hand, Foreign Debt and FDI do not influence Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves from 1992 to 2022.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of economic growth, unemployment, labor, human development index (HDI), and the provincial minimum wage  on poverty in 34 provinces of Indonesia in 2018-2021. This study uses a quantitative approach method. The data used in this study is data from 34 provinces of Indonesia in 2018 – 2021. The analytical model used is a panel data regression analysis with a secondary Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach.The results of the study with a significance level of 5% indicate that (1) simultaneously (together) the variables of economic growth, unemployment, labor, human development index, and the provincial minimum wage have a significant effect on poverty; (2) the economic growth variable has a positive and significant effect on poverty; (3) the unemployment variable has a positive and significant effect on poverty; (4) the labor variable has a negative and insignificant effect on poverty; (5) the human development index (HDI) variable has a negative and significant effect on poverty; (6) the variable of the provincial minimum wage has a negative and insignificant effect on poverty.
